That yard looks so clean and run efficiently compared to the ones I go to here in the state of North Dakota.
I agree the one i go to here in South Carolina is horrible all the way around even prices
Because in Australia we have a high standard in EPA for major corporations so they have to recycle min up to 90% of what they take I love doing this myself I rent a container so I can depopulate and tvs and boards and send my plastic and LCD mucrcury screens to planet ark and they make reusable stuff like garden beds and new roads with shredded glass and PVC and electronic plastic back casings etc

Cheers for these videos Ben I'm not a beginner at this as a job dismantling etc but I am new at the business side and proper disposal now I know of I leave my LCD screen in tact with the metal back plate they will still take it as dirty scrap steel

Scrap here in the states is down across the board. So I am glad I have 80 acres of property out in the country. I am just stock piling right now till it go up again.

What U recommend starting with and going from there?
I was about to turn in copper and brass a few months ago, then Covid made the prices drop. Now they bounced back to where they were and a little better. Just cashed in $500+ of mainly copper, brass, wire, aluminum.
It was nice to not take a -25% hit. I wasn’t in a hurry back then so I held on to it.

I assume they weigh the truck before and after you arrive. So if you use the bathroom there you’ll earn scrap steel prices for your deposit..
He has to get out of the truck when they weigh the van to stop people doing things like that

You have to be in great condition to handle more then 3 tons of weight in one day. Wow! Do get a better price as someone who processes a lot of scrap?

Aus prices and UK prices are not that far apart. Motors are £0.45Kg. Steel is 8pKg (we don't have clean pressing and dirty pressing over here, it's all the same.

I know your core business is processing but the pay day is the best. In your marathon videos somewhere you said you already sold some boards etc without showing actual yard runs, I was very disappointed.

Ah heck, the yard probs don't care too much. I mean, 2 paper thin cans weigh next to nothing compared to all the steel that went into the bin.
Nice to see you get a decent payday for all the stuff you do, and I'd bet you like seeing the yard a bit less cluttered.
And the aluminum is worth more than the steel anyway. They'll toss it in the right bin later.

I had to stop at 16:43 that is the weight of your van? If so you now know how much you took in . Where im at they don't direct deposit into an account you get cash. I know the weight of my truck so when i go across a scale i can tell how much i have on and can figure out how much money before i off load it it
because he brings in multiple items, they weigh each batch individually on skids or in the containers.

The secret is to know how the scrap yard wants it separated and cleaned..if you do it properly you get too $..if you take it in just like a pile of junk you get junk money..simple

Man. Most of those radiators were in good condition. It was painful to watch them thrown around like that.
To be honest, I did not watch your last two marathon videos. I checked them at every 5-10 minutes for a few seconds.
After watching scrapping for 7 part series, got bored. Specially the 7th Part. Other than the processing table, the video did not show what difference it made.
This video is a refreshingly different and this is what interests me most. After you scrap a lot of ewaste, to see the result, like how much it weighed, how much you got paid will give you a sense of accomplishment.
In this video too you missed to write down the weight of the non ferrous weights. You showed only prices.
But I liked a 33 minute exclusive yard run video. Pressing Like button :)

That’s would be extremely risky for them, people weigh their stuff before hand a lot of the time and they would be found out pretty quickly.
@@jxavier3876 doesnt mean the persons scale is 100% right it may be off by like .5-1 gram which will add up it the long run
