Copper price is very good, Brass is great, Insulated copper wire is a great price too.

Dang Ben, you really inspire me. Im only 14 years old and recycle any metal I can get. Unfortunately my parents scold me if I get out on the streets scavenging for metal so I must do it secretly. Its one of my only passions and you keep the dream alive. Awesome video
They dont like me scavenging for metal. They think its illegal and gross. Im a diehard scrapper. They let me scrap but wont let me scavenge for metal on trash day. So I have to creep out without my parents nowing

I tell them all the time that I want to have my own spot with a giant hoard of metal in my own yard yet with a bunch and bunch of bins with a super neat yard and everything sort of like Ben. They just think im a wannabe scrap lord and a scuzzy scavenger. I creep out every saturday to scan trash bins for metal. Havent been caught yet.
Yeah man I’m 16 same deal, I’ve had to settle for ignoring steel because ain’t nobody got space for that.
@@jxavier3876 Shoot man. Youve got to start burying it lol. Ive got a yard 20 minutes away that will give me 2.38 a lb for #1 copper and 2.18 a lb for #2!!! I even save our steel cans lol. Im saving for my first vehicle with my scrap cash. Ive got a bucket of #1 copper that weighs like 40 lbs!!!

I am always amazed by the amount of scrap you fit in that van, those guys at the yard are like the workers at home depot haha whenever you need help they are nowhere to be found, Your scrap prices are higher then they are here in Canada, Copper is sitting around 7.48 a kg, PVC copper is 2.10Kg, ext Alum 1.20Kg

@@robertgerber2533 He is just brilliant to watch isn't he, he was the first person I watched, and so inspiring and I loved it so much that I have now found many other wonderful scrappers to watch too and have my own very fledgling scrap hobby channel. He opened my eyes to the wonderful world of taking things to pieces and is such an inspiration!! I also love his whole set up there! We have just gone into a second lockdown and this channel pretty much got me through the first one!!

It's so rewarding emptying out all that junk from the warehouse/truck. It's not worth much, but it takes up a lot of space and at least pays for gas/lunch that day.

Hi Ben. As you are already taking the boards off the hard drives and your client has taken the lid off to get to the platters, why don't you strip the whole case? You had extruded Alumimium at $1.75/Kg but you're only getting 45c /Kg for the irony-Al. With the lid off and the board and platters gone, you'd have the rest of the contents out in under 60 seconds, surely? Thanks.

Doing steel here in Canada is WAY easier. Drive on scale, dump steel on big pile, drive back on scale, get money. Bins for steel is just a waste of time. Aussies are funny. lol
seriously though. Takes him over 6 mins to empty the steel out of his van. Here, that's about 1 min, tops.

Ben, at the rate America is going at least North America, the United States portion of North America. The absolute best thing this country could hope for is a 6 month lock down. They will never do it. I am in the state of Iowa in the central United States, We currently have the worst Covid rate in the entire world. I am personally hiding from the world right now. Shit is getting bad here.

I used to be nice to scrapyards here in the states. But they treat everyone like you're a crook. So I just leave all the plastics on my loads. Make more money.
So you'll take the time to strip some things down to their tinniest parts, but you don't take apart hard drives? Here that's a difference between getting 4 cents/pound to getting at least 30 cents/pound or 50 cents on a good month. How odd.
