I know you from your Tianjin video! I remember looking this city up when I made a new friend in work who is from Tianjin, then I came across you. Thanks for sharing, was really interesting to hear your story :) from Ireland.
That's amazing, so good to find a TH-cam channel I can rely on and see how China is for real. Really want to go there, more and more right now. I'm from Brazil! 😊
Magnificent, magic, less commercial, mysterious, I have always appreciated China for culture, discipline and smart people. Kids are adorable. I believe the more negative marketing comes from the West the more people would be curious to see it by themselves.
@@Nicofilms haha I loved Glasgow but London has tons of places to discover so can't complain. What about you - ever lived in north of UK or south of UK?
I always loved your videos! They are all beautifully composed with very nice background music. Knowing that you were a graphic designer answered my question. Thank you for the positive views about China! I am a Chinese living in the US. With all the overwhelming negative China news around me I really need to watch some video like this to make me feel better.
@Nico I'm a Chinese man living in the UK. So envious of you guys. You are an ambassador of China, I just hope more people in the uk including the politicians that bash China actually go and visit China and see for themselves that China isnt the same as how the media portrays it.
I'm also an American who has been living in China for more than a decade now. And just like you guys I originally came for 6 months, funny how that happens, lol. I also have a youtube channel, and I did a video called "how one badminton game represents my 10 years in China" about all the amazing ways I've grown and changed and become a better person by living here. Keep up the good videos! We need these positive, first hand experiences to combat a lot of the negativity (I too get comments about how I'm lying, or paid by the chinese gov't because my videos are positive and just show my fun daily life. Soooo frustrating.)
hahah yes I know it has happened to many people. Wow 10 years though that is a long time! That's awesome that you also share positive content I feel like I just share how it is not even trying for it to be positive but that's just how it has turned out!
Hi Nico, I checked out many of your videos about your experience in China and feel REALLY glad that you enjoy yourself in the country. Thanks for making these great videos! I appreciate your hard work.
If Me, I will choose Wuhan or Zhengzhou. This 2 City are Epic center of China. I can travel to any cities in China within 4 hrs by high speed rail. (Except Dongbei, Xinjiang,Tibet)
thanks for introducing china to the world. I am from Fujian province, southeast China. I recommend you to visit Xiamen, a city that is both historical and modern.
The food!!! ROFL, I couldn't stop laughing. You nailed it Nico! Who doesn't love Chinese food. Not only is it one of the best tasting cuisine in the world, it has the largest selection of dishes more than any other country. More tasty snacks and beverages too, the beef jerkies are the bomb! Variety is the spice of life! Btw Nico, you don't have to be Chinese on the outside, you're already beautiful and very Chinese on the inside because you're listening to your heart and that's a beautiful thing!
Great video, clear and sharp. Next place I recommend you spend at least 2-3 weeks to visit Xinjiang region, from North to South. It is a very unique region of China which is rich of natures (from snow mountains to deserts and grasslands), sceneries, cultures and people. You may want to hire a 4 wheels drive with driver as guide. He can follow your schedule and Itinerary.
This has to be one of your best videos Nico! Well done and thank you for sharing your journey. Most importantly, thank you for liking China. I'm Chinese from Hebei province living in Melbourne Australia. I really want to go to Tibet hopefully one day soon.
Born & raised Beijinger, you're my favourite TH-camr about China, you got PGC-level high quality videos! Thanks for telling the true stories on this country, the western world is so biased on us right now, expecially during this pandemic outbreak... Hope one day there'll be a chance to grab a drink with you and Jack! Also following you on BiliBili!
@@Nicofilms Maybe we will! As for your future destination I would strongly reccomend Xinjiang, it reflects a different and wilder side of China and has astonishingly beautiful views & diversified ethinic cultures you will never see in the eastern part of the country. But I don't know for sure if there will be problems going there as foreigners.
Nice story, my first time in China was went I worked there 15 years ago as an engineer in the oil and has sector, I meet my wife and we brought a house in Jilin. However we are in Abu Dhabi and can only visit for now; but I do agree with you that China is an adventure that never ends, and the wonderful people made China for me. Another thing is I agree with all the security it make everyone feel comfortable and sate. When we finish work we plan on retiring back to China, and BTW I have not been back to the uk in 12 years and don’t intend too go back.
I’m so glad I was linked to your channel, so much fun watching your videos. As a southerner (born in Yunnan) living in Beijing for more than a decade, I’ve got used to the life here in the north, which many compatriots from the south don’t. You’re right that China is so huge, which makes the difference between south and north tremendously big, not only geographically and climatically, but also in dietary habit and life style ... I saw you’ve experienced the beauty of ancient China (Beijing, Nanjing, Suzhou, Xi’an ...) and modern China (major cities) , so I would suggest you to go to the west and southeast of China as well to feel the beauty of nature, in particular Yunnan, western part of Sichuan, Guizhou, Guangxi, Hunan’s Fenghuang (Phoenix town) & Zhang Jia Jie (sets of Avatar), Xinjiang, Tibet etc. In the end, thanks for sharing your experiences with us, Nico. Look forward to the upcoming ones. Peace & love.

Hello from Brazil! 💕 Just came across your channel and I'm already quite excited about it! I may become a translator or English teacher in future, hopefully in France, a country that I'm crazy about since I was a child, but China is slowly captivating me...

Hi! I started to watch your channel several years ago when I studied in Italy. Now I come back home and live in the same city as you. Really hope you could get more and more followers. Your high quality videos deserve it.
Chinese student here, recently just had to pause my study and left NYC. I really admire you and your BF’s courage to explore the world, and I see beauty of humanity from the way how you help the poor doggies, and how you introduce my country which suffers a lot from misunderstandings. I wish all the best with your life in China!
atleast i got the city settled, if i ever decided to move to china. xi'an is a perfect mix between old and modern and the food is so good. i miss a good old bowl of yangrou paomo with raw garlic.
We feel so frustrated living in the uk as a Chinese right now. Everyday there are so many negative news about China due to the pandemic. The anti China / propaganda news and general dislike Chinese attitudes is becoming a new norm . People can say whatever horrible things to Chinese online or life without any hesitations now ! It’s really going backwards.... But Love your vibe in your video
Nico I just came away from my first encounter with your vlog in TH-cam and I really look forward to watching more..I must applaud your passion for travel especially when searching for exotic places. A very refreshing way to share you experiences with others of like interest like me. Thanks 💕
but it can get saturating, at some point, I had to asked the waitress to not put anything on my food. Just salt. Oh they never do that. the order arrives and they just tell you, “This taste better”. I had to rush to Vietnam just to eat something that doesnt taste Chinese.
Eduardo Viajero sorry to hear that. Restaurant foods tend to lean more toward the more strongly flavored Sichuan Hunan type of foods. Restaurant foods also differ significantly from homemade Chinese food. I grew up eating my late grandmothers Ningbo style Chinese food which she always made from scratch. It’s nothing like restaurant food. Oh how I miss it.
Wow, your channel is amazing!! Very informative and beautifully edited! Best wishes from New Zealand~~ Have you guys ever been to the northeastern part of China, I would love to see more of the videos from those particular regions, Russian/Korean influenced Harbin and Shenyang etc. Might be interesting to see! Thanks in advance Nico!
China has always pictured the western world as a beautiful place to be and to live and thats one of the reason that basically drives many young ppl (or older ppl)study abroad. Some like it and some got homesick and so on.... now on the other side, the western countries have always been picturing china as the evil poor ccp thing, you know what Im talking about...I love where I live(EU) but I hate the lies the media and the govs are telling the locals to hide their own incompentencies....
It's more correct than you realise. I lived in China many years. And a lot of sources they use comes directly from Chinese people / Chinese websites / Chinese government leaks. Some media sound more angry than others but the basic information don't change because you can't change the facts. You can only present it in different tones. What the CCP has done they've done. There's no doubt what they've done Why they've done it is the the topic open for discussion and no one knows at this point. Neither WHO nor independent Investigation team has been allowed to investigate the lab to confirm or deny the final pieces of the puzzle. No one innocent will deny then block investigation No innocent party will hit back with the same allegations as they are receiving without ample proof. No innocent party will remove information as it is being discussed. No one innocent will make threats when asked about the facts. No one innocent will arrest it's citizens when they receive criticism. No one innocent will work so hard to hide the truth. That's why China got patriotic education. So people won't ask questions. But the truth is most students taking gaokao right now hate being taught how to be nationalistic. In the "west" education system is working very hard to make people less nationalistic. Because that's a source of extreme right / left wing terrorism and racism.
Before covid19, I don't think people had a super negative view of China. At least I didn't. In regards to a lot of the depictions of human rights abuses in China, they have proven to be true. That's not all China has to offer, but the crimes being committed by the CCP should not be hidden.
@@陈雷-p3i I personally didn't know much about China before. I associated China with the great wall, hard working people, and being the manufacturing house of a lot of products. I've met some cool people from Mainland China as well. However, the actions of the CCP in relation to this virus are extremely disturbing and made me review more about them which led to me realizing that this wasn't new, the regime has a string of inhumane acts. There are too many horrible realities about China that have surfaced during the pandemic for me to view China in a positive light. I'm sure there are a lot of good things, but I see more harm than good coming from the CCP's government practices and influence on the world.
I have been a regular monthly visitor to China from Singapore for the past 15 years. Thanks for making these very well balanced videos. And you are right, China is a nice place to retire! Never boring, always somewhere to go or something to eat!
Love your video!!!Nanjing is my hometown. Thanks for your vlog!! The next destination i'll recommend you Chengdu.Where i lived in for 5 years. Good job Nico! I love your spirit and your passion about life. And I appreciate it that you made this video of your China story. Hope it spread out to clarify more misinformation about China.
Hey, Nico, I would like to see some contents about Guangzhou. After all, when it comes to food, Cantonese cuisine is one of the 7 major Chinese cuisines. and it will be interesting to know how you feel about it. Of course, when it comes to food 7 is way too small to describe the entirety of Chinese cuisine. Have a nice day.
I’m Cantonese. I think Guangzhou is worth your visit. It’s a culturally diversified city. traditional elements go with modern world here. A city with a population of 14 million.
Dear John, actually it’s 8 in total, not 7. They are 鲁菜(Shandong’s) 川菜(Sichuanese) 粤菜(Cantonese) 苏菜(Jiangsu’s) 闽菜(Fujian’s) 浙菜(Zhejiang’s) 湘菜 (Hunanese) 徽菜(Anhui’s). And I agree with you that even these 8 major cuisines can’t represent Chinese food completely. Me for example, besides fascinated by Hunanese, Sichuanese and Cantonese cuisines, love Yunnan’s and Guizhou’s as well. 🍻
good choice Nico! Chinese have been evolving tremendously in the past few years and the food is of course the the major reason for you to move to! cheers! love from Malaysia
Great Video! I love it when people actually go to China to find out how it is actually like, rather than making assumptions about the country when they haven't actually been there before.

Magnificent, magic, less commercial, mysterious, I have always appreciated China for culture, discipline and smart people. Kids are adorable. I believe the more negative marketing comes from the West the more people would be curious to see it by themselves.
Glad to see something positive about China. I know my trip ain't gonna happen this year, so I'd love to see you going to the north, Dalian.
Oh I'm so sorry! I'd love to go hopefully we will get a chance!
Coolest Story about China that I've ever heared!Love LIFE, Love China, Love the World!
Thank you Nico.
Amazing videos. Visited myself Shanghai and I really liked it! I'm from Romania but living in UK at the moment.
Thanks for watching I'm pleased you enjoyed it! Where are you in the UK?
Nico heyy! At the moment living in London but used to stay for a while up in Soctland.
@@ancanicorescu2960 Cool! Very different from each other haha which do you prefer?
@@Nicofilms haha I loved Glasgow but London has tons of places to discover so can't complain. What about you - ever lived in north of UK or south of UK?
@@ancanicorescu2960 Yeah they are both great cities! I am from near Newcastle so I am a Northern girl!
I always loved your videos! They are all beautifully composed with very nice background music. Knowing that you were a graphic designer answered my question.
Thank you for the positive views about China! I am a Chinese living in the US. With all the overwhelming negative China news around me I really need to watch some video like this to make me feel better.
Thank you very much! I'm pleased you like them!
Aww thank you for watching! I'm pleased you enjoy them.
I'm from Singapore, wish both of you have a great times in China! 🥰
Thank you!! 😊
It is a brilliant idea to choose Nanjing, especially its geographic location.
Yeah it was a lot easier to travel from there Beijing is a little far now.
If Me, I will choose Wuhan or Zhengzhou. This 2 City are Epic center of China. I can travel to any cities in China within 4 hrs by high speed rail. (Except Dongbei, Xinjiang,Tibet)
Because Nanjing is in the middle of China
I'm from the Midwest in the USA. I'm currently thinking about moving to China once I have my TEFL Certification.
Love u guys from Kuwait 🇰🇼
I"m a Chinese national living in Canada. Your video makes me feel homesick.
I'm pleased you enjoyed it and I'm sorry to make you homesick.

Thanks for sharing your story ,great recap, all the best
thanks for introducing china to the world. I am from Fujian province, southeast China. I recommend you to visit Xiamen, a city that is both historical and modern.
Thanks I've heard good things!
Holly crap!!!! This editing is text book! Well done it Nico. Hahahahaha “the food” I’m so following this channel from now on
Aww thank you! Yes, Jack did an awesome job!
Btw Nico, you don't have to be Chinese on the outside, you're already beautiful and very Chinese on the inside because you're listening to your heart and that's a beautiful thing!
thank you Nico. Very interesting and well presented. Do more please.
Thanks, will do!
thanks for share China, its not the same as the media saying
Great video, clear and sharp. Next place I recommend you spend at least 2-3 weeks to visit Xinjiang region, from North to South. It is a very unique region of China which is rich of natures (from snow mountains to deserts and grasslands), sceneries, cultures and people. You may want to hire a 4 wheels drive with driver as guide. He can follow your schedule and Itinerary.
This has to be one of your best videos Nico! Well done and thank you for sharing your journey. Most importantly, thank you for liking China. I'm Chinese from Hebei province living in Melbourne Australia. I really want to go to Tibet hopefully one day soon.
welcome to Tibet
TASHI Delek from Tibet
Aww thank you I really love this one too!
Aww thanks I'm glad you like them! Haha maybe we will bump into each other!
Ohh, liked this one. Great editing and storytelling. Enjoying the tongue in cheek humour too ; )
Aww thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Peace & love.
girl you really been a lot of place, as a chinese living in beijing almost all my life, I have to admit I didn't really exploring my contury. your lifestyle is quite inspiring

Why don’t you move back to China if your family feel unsafe?
Nico I just came away from my first encounter with your vlog in TH-cam and I really look forward to watching more..I must applaud your passion for travel especially when searching for exotic places. A very refreshing way to share you experiences with others of like interest like me. Thanks 💕
Aw thank you and welcome to my channel I'm pleased you enjoyed it.
Anthony Bourdain used to say. “You live five years in China and only scratch the surface of its food culture.”
but it can get saturating, at some point, I had to asked the waitress to not put anything on my food.
@@eduardochavacano maybe you may tell them you can't eat spicy food?
Some say you live one day In China you are able to taste snoopy and Garfield and many other vvviiiiirussss carrying wild life

First rule in chinese restaurant. No customization allowed. You do your own customization when the food arrive. LOL

Thanks in advance Nico!
Aw thank you I'm pleased you like it! Great suggestions!
I love your contents. Can't wait to see your next video of China!
I never felt like that before I came I had no preconceptions about it. I just wanted to visit all the wonderful landscapes I had seen.
There's no doubt what they've done
Why they've done it is the the topic open for discussion and no one knows at this point.
Neither WHO nor independent Investigation team has been allowed to investigate the lab to confirm or deny the final pieces of the puzzle.
No one innocent will deny then block investigation
No innocent party will hit back with the same allegations as they are receiving without ample proof.
@@network9990 When you say this, your writing is full of negative views on China。What's hidden? tell me?

Aww thanks for watching. I'm pleased you enjoyed it!
Nico pleasure is all mine.
Hi from Indonesia. Love your video editing and storytelling.
Have a nice day.
hahaha this is true! Yes I would love to visit I have heard the food is really good there!
Respect and best wishes from a Chinese national currently living in the UK. Hope you enjoy your time in China!
Enjoyable !
good choice Nico! Chinese have been evolving tremendously in the past few years and the food is of course the the major reason for you to move to! cheers! love from Malaysia
