Hello there! I have a question regarding the educational qualification, can a theological student with 5 year course and a TEFL certificate teach in secular institutions? By the way, I'm so glad I found your channel. This is going to be a great mentor :))
I’d love to move to China. You being native Chinese and typing English that’s completely correct when it comes to grammar, just shows how bad our education system is compared to China. US is almost done. The strongest empires like Rome, ottomans, etc don’t last more than 300 or so years. Roman republic lasted longer than empires. Roman Empire only lasted 400 years. US is never going to be the best again.
Hi Nico! Hope everything is going better now! Loved your video! My boyfriend and I already live in China, but for sure it would have been extremely useful to watch this video before coming here. Talking by my own experience, I never pictured myself being here, specially because I felt very distant to this country and it's culture. Finally it turned out to be the best thing ever happening to me so far. Even my family is far away, I feel like right now I wouldn't like to be anywhere else but this beautiful country. I like the positive energy you portray on each of your videos. As a foreigner living in China, I relate a lot to you! Hope we can meet sometime! I've never been to Beijing before, but I am looking forward to it! Sending love from Suzhou, Max and Noelia.
Thanks a lot! I totally agree I think it is really hard to move to a new country especially when there isn't much information out there so I hope it can help others who are thinking about making the move. Showing them it's not as scary as they might think. I agree this journey at times can be really hard especially being away from family but it has been a one that we are very grateful for having. Thank you, that is so kind, we love living here also and try to show all the amazing things that we experience. I hope you get the chance to visit someday and be sure to tell us if you do it is always great to meet fellow TH-camrs!
Impressive Mandarin Nico. I’m sharing this with anyone thinking of moving to China! So many great tips. Also I saw the Tianjin Eye and that made me so happy 😀.
Haha thanks a lot, I feel like I'm so bad but I'm certainly trying and improving everyday! Yes please do, I hope it helps anyone that is thinking about moving here! Yes we didn't go on it but maybe next time!
I’m Scottish and lived in China for 3 years. Very useful video even for me. Definitely a must watch video for anyone considering moving to this incredible country. I’ve travelled the world and China is up there as one of the best places to live and work. The icing on the cake, for me, is the Chinese people themselves. It’s a cliche but I do love China and my life here.
Thanks a bunch, that really means a lot! Well, feel free to share with anyone you might know who will find it useful. When we moved there was so little information so happy to try and make the transition as easy as possible for people and show China isn't such a scary place. I totally agree I really love living here everyday really is a new adventure. What city do you live in?
Hello from Hong Kong. Glad to see you enjoying your life in China and your narrative about how the life in Chine is really like from the perspective of a British. I hope everyone can let down their bias and ideological differences, and embrace the diversity!
I just took a job in Beijing and I am just binge watching all of your amazing videos. Keep up the great work, stay safe and can't wait to experience it for myself!
I am highly considering moving to china soon when I graduate university. I have been considering teaching english as a job there as well and I have to say your video is excellent. I have been both terrified and extremely excited at the idea of moving across the entire world, but this video helped ease my mind and all of your tips are amazing! Thankyou for your videos
This is an amazing video. Wish I had seen this before going to China. I went to China without researching about life in China. Maybe it was for the best but now watching this I resonate with all of this. Great video, Nico!!
haha yes I was the same but it kind of throws you in the deep end doesn't it? I'm pleased you enjoyed it and found it useful, hopefully others will as well!
Thank you so much I needed motivation to get my life sorted out asap so I can visit my girlfriend in Beijing in October. We couldn't see each other for he past 5 years because her visa into Europe gets rejected over and over and my health wasn't well enough to visit her. The biggest problem now is I need a decent cat-sitter, and I have to emotionally detach from my cat for a while 😢
The ultimate guide to survival in China is : drink hot water! Much like the same formula for trouble free life for most Chinese communities around the world, including here in Malaysia too! But seriously, good foreigner's guide., Nico! Perhaps you should come out with a foreigner's guide booklet too.
Haha right! Thanks a lot, I'm pleased you liked it. That is a great idea it would take a lot of work but I'm sure it would be super helpful so I might have to!

@@PlasticExtrusionProfiles The only problem is India is still occupying a piece of China and refused to give it up. In February 1951, three and a half years after the British have left the subcontinent, India invaded and annexed Tawang, South Tibet and occupy it to this day. Tawang is the Sixth Dalai Lama's birthplace and home to a four hundred years old Tibetan monastery. In 1987 India renamed South Tibet to the so-called Arunachal Pradesh and made it a state. Today South Tibet is restless and a law (called AFSPA Armed Force Special Power Act) is imposed on South Tibet that gives the state the power to detain or kill anyone with impunity. It is a law that meant to suppress dissent. The people in South Tibet never wants to be part of India.

A very nice video. Love the content! I have to say some extra effort has been put in for the editing. And the editing is top notch as usual. I've seen it improve over a while and frankly the content, beautiful video and editing has me coming back to this channel. Would love to see a video that showcases your gear for 2021 if you've upgraded from your last video. I spied a nice little colour throw LED light behind Nico. Since you are reusing a lot of old clips and footage would be nice if you mention the city each is from in small print for those who don't watch regularly. And since this is the kind of video that will get a lot of views as such, that detail will help. Personally I am curious about 1. what software and hardware you are editing on these days. 2. The camera that the video is shot on. 3. the site you get your music from. 4. How did you learn to edit so well. 5. Is it that easy to just fly a drone and shoot video in China. Also as a best practice segue into sponsorships should come up front. keep up the excellent work :)
Thanks a lot for continuing to watch and I'm so pleased you like our content and can see we are always trying to improve. Haha funny you should mention all those things we are actually going to film an updated house video over the spring festival as we have bought some new things and so wanted to share our set up. How we film/edit etc as we want to share it with you guys and think it could be really useful. We will keep you updated on things but in the next few months we have a few things planned.

I want to say , I haven't EVER considered an app after a TH-cam video's recommendation from a sponsor. But, I have been using a Chinese language app that is good. However, what you said about both language speakers correcting each other on the app sounds amazing.

Thanks for sharing your insight I'm sure it will help others and I totally agree. I feel like making it more fun to learn definitely helps me keep on track.
I am curious about the visa situation, working and staying in China as a foreigner. How often must you leave China? I, as an American, can only stay for 6 months at a time. Say I visit Taiwan or Hong Kong for a week for vacation, then return to Harbin (my wife's home town) and continue to work as an English teacher. Is that a reasonable expectation? Enjoyed your video.
Well, if you qualify for a working visa to teach English you will get a working visa and residence permit for the duration of your contract, so usually a year. You don't need to leave China at all if you have this and can renew it as long as you have a job each year.
