I tape a mosin m44 to my inner thigh and tell people I'm just really excited all the time. They laugh at me now but when zombies come I can whip out that glorious soviet wood and steel and kill them all.
Jonah Patton tovarish why you no carry the great Obrez? is so you can conceal carry great 7.62x54r boolet, is best peestol the only peestol worthy of glorious Soviet Union!
I simply chopped off my arm just below the shoulder, so that I could have an AR-pistol mounted there, with mecatronic trigger, magazine & bolt control.
@Jonathan Shi Well, when you load a muzzle-loader, you pour the powder in, then place wadding (like a patch of cloth) and then the bullet. Sometimes more wadding after that. The patch of cloth keeps the powder from slipping out. However, there's a little pan on the side that holds a pinch of powder. The hammer lights this pinch of powder, and the little bit of burning powder lights the main charge through a tiny hole in the side of the barrel. A time bit of powder can fall out from the pan, or that tiny hole, but it's really minimal.
I carry a sawed off 10 gauge loaded with Dragon's Breath rounds so I can set someone on fire as I cut them in half. Liberals like it because it still has some wood on it and there's only two barrels. Also because 10 is less than 12 so it's more humane. They were on the fence about the short length but when I explained that it was modified by a vertically-challenged little person with cerebral palsy, they thanked me for my progressive diversity. Pew and Pew.
+marvin harrison smith II just got back from the hospital. Your comment gave me an aneurysm. Gotta be careful typing such cancer. You might harm someone else :((
@@ittbelitt8409 killing and stopping are 2 different issues. Killing is terminating a person's life. The perp may eventually die but in the meantime continue shooting, stabbing, and hacking. Stopping is to force a cessation of hostilities and aggression. That requires damaging enough vitals organs, blood vessels, or central nervous system to cause shock and force the person to cease aggression regardless if he won't go back in for this third strike. If he makes it to thr hospital, fine. If he terminates,.too bad so sad.
@@Jake-li7ih In my area, it was the easiest to find for a long time. Still is at some retailers. I also remember when .22 lr was easy to find. No more!
My old G23 saved my dad's life. He stopped a doped up junky with a hatchet in his tracks with some quality HP rounds. I sold that gun to him because I wasn't attached to it and not because i thought the caliber wasn't impressive. I now have a G23 again and I trust it to get the job done because of his experience.
Lets admit we're all here cause we carry .40 and are here to religiously defend it and comfort ourselves knowing theres people like us who love the .40. Yes im the middle child and yes in my mind the caliber debate is won. Paul Harrell helped me make my decision to go ahead with the .40
@@upnorthvlogs Trigger pull bro. Slow and steady, you should almost let it surprise you. Eventually you'll be able to do it without it surprising you. Just simply slowly but steadily press the trigger while keeping your sights on target, last but probably the most important, .40 is stout, it is going to recoil, just simply let it. you should find that your bullet ends up exactly where you were aiming. .40 has a pretty mean snap, it can cause recoil anticipation(you pulling the muzzle either low or left, sometimes both) and a flinch without you realizing it. Give this a try and report back. Eventually you'll be able to do the trigger pull and control the recoil without throwing your shot.
You can fine LEO contract over run in .40 for less then 9mm. Even with that it’s typically only a few cents more per round for FMJ with premium JHP loads costing the same for both 9 and 40 typically.
That’s facts right there, I’ve been shot with a .32 from about 25 feet away and then another time with a .45 from about 8 feet away and let me tell you, both times sucked because both rounds with inches away from my manhood 🙏🏼
I passed a guy leaving the C-store with a bottle, in paper sack concealment. He got 🛑 stopped for possible public consumption. 🚔🚨 👮🤞🥴 Test came back negative. 👮🤬 He laughed❕🤣 "It was a bottle of cola, I was trying to keep out of the sun while I walked to work." 🌄
This guy knows his stuff. I am a middle child and I carry a 40 cal. I am also a retired Deputy Sheriff and we carried 40s. I have owned and fired all three. Needless to say I have fired and trained with 40 Cal. more. I am on target more with a 40 Cal. Perhaps it is all the training. I am not upset over this video, as a matter of fact I liked it.
40 is an awesome round. So is 9. Ok, toss in the 45 as well. I have carried all 3 on duty and have seen a 9mm one shot stop. I have seen suspects take multiple hits from 45 and live. I was involved in a shooting with 40 and it works as advertised. My point is that shot placement and knowing your platform is more relevant than caliber. I carry 40 on duty, 9 off duty, and 45 on the nightstand. I guess you can have it all :)
Ryan Dowdell For real. I bought my first gun (Glock 43x) on June 13th and I’ve only seen *1 box* of 9mm ammo, I look for more like 5x a week still with zero luck lol
Where the 50 boys at? I conceal carry a Desert Eagle 50 AE just in case a grizzly decides to charge at me. And I also open carry a 50 BMG just in case that same grizzly bear is driving a truck while charging me.
Copy that. Have and shoot most all handgun calibers, but it seems the 40 S&W is my pick most days.. oh..and a Kel-Tec Sub2K (in 40 S&W) is on the way. Can't wait to play
Robo, it's not about your disliking a caliber. It's that the 9mm fanboys are full of so much hate that some of them even lie. I've heard one or two say that .40 will "bounce off" a wool coat. Seriously. I'd like those 9mm fanboys to come to my house so I can test that theory with my .40 Glock...
@@largol33t1 "I'd like for one of them to come to my house and test that theory" Lol. What a generic, caliber snob douchebag statement. You must have missed the entire point of his comment. Both calibers have their fair share of fanboys. At the end of the day, nobody wants to get shot by either one, I know I wouldn't. Placement is king.
I have them both, 40 cal. Stay center of whatever target I shoot. 1996 Glock and 2015 S&W m&p love them both and there will be no divorce. Life is sweet! Stay safe, enjoyed the presentation.
Be careful man your gonna hurt Bob Z. little feelings speaking the fact about all these 9mm girly guys talking about how they can't handle the recoil of a . 40 ( which is hardly no recoil ) , they just can't handle a MAN'S firearm 💪👍 that should get them crying for sure now 😂😂.
234dilligaf, I agree with you 100% if you can't handle the . 40's so called recoil the get a . 22 and start lifting a few pounds of wieghts a day to help get you some strength in your hands and arms to hold and fire a firearm. And what I don't get the same . 9mm girly guys that say the . 40 is short& weak say they can't handle the . 40's recoil so which is it short & weak or to powerful that it kicks ( recoils ) to much for Thier ( .9mm crying weak ass ) .
I hunt with a .44mag, so I've gotten used to the recoil. So, when I train with my 9's, or .40's, or .45's, I have to admit, I don't pay attention to recoil. My focus is on my target. I don't feel outgunned, with any of them. Or even my .380 summer gun. The most important defensive tool, is the one between your ears. You want a 90mm mindset. When it is time to protect yourself, or your family, you can't doubt, that you will persevere. If it takes you a split second longer, to make this a one shot stop, vs a 15 shot panic spray, that misses the target altogether, and endangers everyone else in the vicinity, you HAVE to take that time and risk. It comes back to training. Mr. Badguy is under stress too. He didn't anticipate finding a sheepdog, among the sheep. And now, he's staring down your barrel. You have to train dynamically. Don't go to a range, "kill" the heck out of a paper target, that is stationary, doesn't return fire and think this will suffice. Find somewhere you can shoot steel targets, and are able to move around and still hit. Shoot with your offhand. Shoot while laying on the ground, or some other odd position. Learn to reload, with only your offhand. These are drills that will save your bacon. And, don't be afraid to practice dryfiring at home. Modern firearms are not damaged by this. This helps your draw, sight alignment, and gives you a muscle memory, so that you will automatically do certain things faster and more consistently. What's the best caliber? The one that's comfortable for you, that you have confidence in, and is in your capable hands, at the worst time of your life.
Own a musket for home defense, since that's what the founding fathers intended. Four ruffians break into my house. "What the devil?" As I grab my powdered wig and Kentucky rifle. Blow a golf ball sized hole through the first man, he's dead on the spot. Draw my pistol on the second man, miss him entirely because it's smoothbore and nails the neighbors dog. I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grape shot, "Tally ho lads" the grape shot shreds two men in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off car alarms. Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up. Just as the founding fathers intended.
I often walk into my local cabellas and asked the gentleman at the gun counter what the best deal in the house is. He showed me a s&w m&p .40 cal for $235 it's now my carry. I like the gun, it shoots great, easy to conceal, and it was inexpensive.
Here is the answer to the caliber war. Semi auto cartridges are weaker then revolver and rifle calibers. But nonetheless, bullets kill, train with what you can afford and handle and shot placement is key. BTW, I couldn't decide either so I went with .357 SIG.
semi-auto calibers are weaker because the're shorter to fit in the magazine while still having a comfortable grip, yes, but revolvers have the cylinder gap to deal with that "bleeds" gas out of it, so you get what's called a power bleedout. the argument over this stuff is more what caliber is better for carry, it needs to be powerful but also quiet (to avoid ropturing an ear drum, trust me it's not nice if it happens and it will happen if you get assaulted by someone and obviously, not being at a range, you won't have earplugs on). Accuracy isn't much to look at as you will be very probably in a close quarter scenario and you won't have time to take aim. Another thing is that weaker people need to look at the blowback, as some guns misfire if the muzzle flip isn't controlled that much and you'll never have a great grip in these situations to nullify the excessive pivoting of the weapon.
Ha. I remember going shooting at my friends and at the end of the day I got to try out a 9mm handgun..can't recall what it was. Anyways I had already taken my ear plugs out and was too lazy to go put them in. BOY WAS THAT A MISTAKE.
U_Wot_m7+1 yeah, you can get permanent hearing loss for that, hope the shooting range wasn't inside, since it being mostly an empty room the echo is horrible
CDgonePotatoes Yep I realized that as soon as I heard the ringing. It was outside at a property in the middle of nowhere. I was surprised how loud 9mm is
Having been in emergency services for over 40 years, (911 paramedic and ER nurse), I have seen quite a few shootings with everything from a BB gun to 12ga shotguns. I have seen "one shot DRT" (dead right there) kill with a .25 acp, and someone shot multiple times with 12ga buckshot who was still able to fight back. The essential element to any defensive use of a firearm is shot placement. With under-powered rounds like .25 acp, .32acp (or .32 S&W), .22LR from a handgun, etc. the best bet is to place multiple rounds in the thinnest parts of the skull, such as through the eye sockets. I have even seen 9mm hardball fail to penetrate thicker parts of the skull, (spent many years working 911 in Texas. Lots of very hard heads here! Who needs an IQ test when you can get a Rockwell scale test on your cranium!) While an experienced shooter should be able to place their shots at will, it is quite a bot more difficult to do so when the target is moving, shooting back and the shooter is experiencing a massive dump of adrenalin in their system. People who work in high stress, dangerous jobs, (police officers, EMT/Paramedics, firefighters, combat soldiers, Waffle House cooks ;-P , etc.) or participate in "adrenalin" type sports, (sky diving, whitewater rafting, etc.), have a much better chance of placing their shots effectively under real-world defensive conditions. A handgun round that provides adequate penetration, and creates enough tissue damage to disrupt the central nervous system is really all that is required. Disrupting the cardiovascular system, (i.e. causing hypovolemic shock), is much slower method of stopping the threat, although much easier to achieve under stress-fire circumstances, which is why "center of mass" is taught for defensive shooting. Waiting for your assailant to bleed out while they are actively attacking you probably seems like FOREVER during the event, as time seems to run in slow motion during these high-stress events.
That’s it in a nutshell. Big or small you can kill them all if you place your shot. Most of us don’t have the luxury of being a sniper and carefully choosing our shot.
@@AnAverageBoss the one you can shoot the most accurate and reliably place your shot with confidence...if ur a man that has shot before you shouldn't have any issues with any 9mm 40 or 45...personally there's not a huge difference in recoil like people portray....and 38 or 380 get the job done and once again feel not much different then a 9mm
@@robosdrumworld right To me 40S&W is just what I like love the recoil has enough stopping power maybe even one than .45acp because of the higher velocity.
You also have to ask, "Which caliber is best for the task I think I'll need my firearm to do." If one caliber was best, there would be no other calibers, only the one, as it would be the best at everything... but that is a fantasy, and why we have so many calibers one could go their whole life without hearing about many of them. Much like there is no one tool to build everything, and there are many tools you never heard of, but are really good at one specific application.
I've been shooting .40 cal for years. Love it. I never really noticed any weird recoil, but then I started with a .45 ACP Colt Officer's Model. From there I went to a Ruger P85 9mm which got stolen. I was left with only my Ruger Redhawk .44 Mag for years before I got my first .40, a Ruger P94DC. I did very well with it and because I was used to the recoil of the .44 Mag, it felt pretty light to me. I added a Beretta 96G which I never really liked. It was very comfortable in my hand, but I couldn't get it to shoot accurately for crap. Finally, I got a Beretta 8040 Cougar and I fell in love with it. It was stupid accurate and it felt super smooth to shoot. I've since graduated to the PX4 Storm. Using the same rotating barrel system it's just as smooth and accurate as the 8040. I'm not terribly fond of the polymer frame, but I can live with it. The only down side I have is that I injured my pinky and ring finger on my dominate hand and must have done some nerve damage. It's been more than a year now and shooting handguns (as well as using tools or gripping things tightly) make those to fingers ache like a sumbeeotch. Luckily, rifle shooting which is my true passion doesn't bother them. I only shoot the handgun as practice since it's my carry weapon. Unfortunately, knowing the pain I'll be in after makes it hard to force myself to hit the range with the pistol and I'm pretty sure anything bigger of my MK II .22LR Slab Side would cause the same situation.
***** as someone that carries a .40 you had me laughing almost histerically. Yes we carry the 10mm short and weak and carry it proud! Keep up the great videos.
choosing a caliber for your EDC pistol is like figuring out your sexuality. It's confusing, it's hard and if you figure out your calibre round, your gonna get backlash for whatever round you choose. For me I chose the bisexual .40 SW.
Been carrying 40 for years. Solid performance, good barrier penetration. Performance exceeds 45 and meets 45 +P. Decent capacity in a smaller frame. And the often overstated snappy recoil isn't a huge deal. Most ppl bag on it because its fashionable to hate it.
I was never confused about my sexuality, always knew i was straight, but i liked the 9mm when i was younger, like around 15 cuz i was a little bitch when it comes to recoil, im almost 21 now and i love recoil so 45 is my go to.
There is no cal debate! Cal does not matter. what matters is placing whatever Cal you have effectively. If I shoot one in the face with a .22LR the confusion and the threat stops :)
Carpe Diem size doesn't matter...says the guy who has the smallest. she may have told you that, but she just didn't want to hurt your feelings. it's like comparing a 223 to a 308. generally a 223 will get the job done, but sometimes you need something bigger. chances are your 9 will be enough. just really sucks when it isnt.
ChuckHydro What if your engagements are inside 300m and you've got to carry 500 rounds on you? Not quite as simple once you consider operational conditions ;)
750,000 men and half a billion rounds or one plane and one a-bomb? the fact remains the 9 and the 223 are less powerful and do less damage round for round than the 40 and 308.
I carry different calibers depending on the time of year, I love the .40 for winter time. Train with what you are comfortable with. Every caliber will make a hole and is better than throwing hands. Also, the majority of people will never use their weapon for self defense, but whatever you have on you is the best caliber if you need it.
I carry "only" 9mm ... Because Slovakia! Oh yeah :) Or I could carry slingshot, or freaking two handed sword :) (or S&W 500 ... or sawed off shotgun ...)
I understand Rowen, if these Political Pricks had their way neither would we but it's a constant fight to keep them but I earnestly believe you would have to kill some of the people over here before you ever got their guns!
"Uh uh. I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well to tell you the truth in all this excitement I kinda lost track myself. But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and would blow your head clean off, you've gotta ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?"
I bought a .40 cal because I was a CBP Officer and we were issued the H&K P2000. When I retired I still had about 800 rounds left over from Range Qualifications. I already have a Colt .45ACP and a Colt King Cobra .357 magnum.
I was just thinking about when I started carrying .357 Sig, and it was just a few months after this video came out. I think this video might have influenced me to switch to the greatest semi-auto cartridge ever devised by man.
As someone who's carried a 9mm, a .40, and currently, a 10mm, I say this: a .22 in your waist band is better than a .357 magnum on the shelf. But seriously, the .357 rocks!
I really like that taurus(I believe it was taurus) introduced 8 round revolver cylinders a few years back too, so now we don't have to hear the 5 or 6 round comments from the semi-auto guys(though i have several semi-autos personally i still hear it when i carry a revolver) as if every time you shoot you have to shoot 30 rounds!
I've never owned or fired a Taurus. But, I do own a 8 shot .357--the M&P R8. Great revolver. As for the lack of capacity, I do believe it's a valid complaint. However, for me, it's not the capacity that's an issue, it's the reload time that annoys me. As much as I like automatics, I do love a good revolver. I like the aesthetics, the functionality, and I love the trigger. Revolvers certainly have the trigger down pat! Either way though, I love pretty much any type of firearm. I will shoot anything. I own a shotgun, a few AKs, a revolver, and automatic pistols.
What? I'm just going to list a few reasons why your "best 1 shot" statement is wrong.. 1. .45 2. .50AE 3. 357 4. .44 the list goes on... .40 is not the best ONE shot handgun caliber...
TheTopHatGamer I'm not going off stopping power stats collected in lab testing. I'm talking about the results reported by decades of collected law enforcement data. Stats are great, real world results are better when it matters.
Jason Dunbar Why would you base your stats on something so specific... Thats like only buying cars that are police cruisers... You wouldn't carry a round if the police don't use it?
In order to curb the snappy recoil im going to buy some Liberty Civil defense ammo 65gr 40S&W. You can say bye to that snap and the bullets gonna have way more of a implode and explode on entry for anything it hits. Every caliber and bullet type and grain has their capabilities
I am a middle child and own a .40 s&w so good on you. It was definitely a compromise. I can't buy all the guns I want and I spend enough time outdoors and thought it would be good for dealing with larger animals as well as self-defense in the city. It is more costly than 9mm but it's fun having a bigger caliber and it isn't as expensive as 45 or 357.
miky smith You might as well carry 9mm at that point.... 9mm sub compacts are usually the same size or slightly larger and you get way better ballistics from the 9mm.
+Sup3r6f0ur the only reason to have a .380 is for the micro's. I have a subcompact 9mm that I carry 95% of the time and I also have a micro.380 for the other 5%. those days that I am wearing basketball shorts and have to do a little running around. the micro .380 fits the bill. I'll never carry a .380 every day but it's nice to have for an option.
I love the .45 ACP in a 1911 platform but I prefer to carry the 10mm. It offers a magazine capacity of the .40 S&W, which is comparable to the 9mm, but also has a basically energy that exceeds the .357 Magnum. My 'go to' is a Kimber Target II, which is built on the 1911 platform. This for me is the perfect full size carry option.
Exceeds the 357 Mag? Maybe a hot 10mm and a mediocre 357. If they're both hot rounds the 357 smokes it. If they're both mediocre rounds the 357 smokes it, especially since many big box ammo manufacturers down load 10mm to basically 40sw specs.
The main problem with the caliber debt is that it puts way too much emphasis on the equipment. What ultimately counts in a gun fight is proven tactics and proper training. For every caliber that people either love or hate, there is a documented accounts of said round being effective with one shot and also of said round being ineffective with multiple shots. This is even true with rifle rounds. There are so many variables that might make a particular caliber right for one person and wrong for another and vise versa. And then there are certain situations that may make a particular caliber more desired than another. Unfortunately due to the nature of a gunfight, we do not have the luxury of being able to dictate or control all of the unknown factors. The only thing we can determine is how well trained we are when the wolf is at our door. So no matter what caliber you choose for whatever reason you choose it, it doesn't mean a thing unless you train as if your life depends on it. Because at the end of the day, your life does. Stay safe brothers and sisters and train, train, and train some more.
that was funny. A police department I worked for years ago transitioned from the .38 to the 9mm. Then later when they wanted a bigger gun ended up with the .40 because the city commission thought the .45 was too military. At the time my personal weapon was a .45. I shot both a lot against all types of targets and most times couldn't tell you on a practical level that there was much difference. later I took a training class from an ex Israeli commando who had done many times what we were training for. He preferred the 9mm over anything else. I'm so confused......
My first gun was a .40 S&W. Now, I have 9mm, LR22, and 45acp. So my .40 was my gateway drug. I carry a M-27 Phased plasma rifle at 40 watt range. It's just to cover all bases ;)
I actually like the recoil impulse of the .40 in my VP. It reminds me of the .41/.44 that I unfortunately sold and wish I could get back. Loaded with .41, it was a tack driver with just a hint of snap. I like the .45 “push” and never really felt comfortable with the snappiness of the higher power 9’s. For some reason, I’m just more comfortable and accurate with the .40..... which is the most important anyway. Years ago I was at a range and in the lane next to me was a gal maybe in her mid 20’s, shooting a .380. She had that paper all the way down the range. I watched her quickly run through three magazines....... and when the target came back, my jaw hit the floor. She had dime sized stickers all over it, and each one had a clean hole right through the middle........... I want her on my side.
Thanks Colion for adding to my confusion. My EDC rotation includes 9mm NATO, 40 S&W and 45 ACP. Today I happen to be carrying my FNX-40. Well, fact is they will all get the job done.
+UnchartedGamer You guys don't even realize we started calling it the deagle in the first versions of counter-strike... Where the fuck is the COD game with it?
I carry 40 in a glock 22 it was my first pistol and I've done most of my training with it. I never really put much thought in the size of the round. lol Don't see why others worry about what others are carry so long as they are pro gun who cares! People should stop worrying about the size they carry and more about how well they can shoot it. And if it still bothers you, carry a rifle.
I know right, these debates are going nowhere, I love all calibers and would'nt mind carry any of them, 9mm, 40SW,45acp,10mm they're all good calibers and they all get the job done.
Not to start a war, but shoot the G17 after training on the G22 and it will feel like a .22. I recently went back to 9mm after 3 years of .40 use/abuse, and my shot placement and split times were phenomenal compared to shooting the G22 and even my 35. Now I just need to get my hands on a G34...
Because there's a fundamental issue people miss. Handguns are handguns, not rifles. Those fancy numbers on paper add up to differences that make for tiny fractions of an inch differences in ballistic gel. Meanwhile, they deliver exponentially more recoil, vastly lower capacity, and are more expensive. 9mm strikes the happy medium on all levels and can be loaded to near 357 magnum power levels or down to bunny fart competition levels. So at the end of the day, the most pros vs cons put 9mm ahead of the pack, which is why it's used by nato.
***** 14+1 as opposed to 17 or 18+1 for a 9mm. Exact same ballistic performance, exact same energy levels. I'm sorry you don't understand ballistics yet, but you will eventually.
Who the hell cares the purpose of my original comment was to say carry what you want everything doesn't have to be an argument. All pistol rounds are essentially the same with the exception of a few so, yeah 9mm is a good round but at the same time so are all the others. Train with what you want to train with, at the end of the day the gun is going to be on your hip no one elses, and if you got to use it to defend your self your probably going to be better off using a gun and a round your familiar with than anything else. It has nothing to do with ballistics and what have it because carry handguns aren't making a big difference in power, it seems likes like everyone thinks because some firearms instructor on youtube tells them that if they aren't carrying this gun and round they have a small dick when the reality of the matter is if you've trained with any of these guy like Yager, or Costa, or Livas, Raidon you'll know that even the people that are working with them don't always carry that particular round or gun. They do it to stir shit up on youtube for people who don't know any better and that don't go out and train. I'll tell you now after going to South Port N.C. and training with Yager he isn't all he's cracked up to be unless you've never been anywhere else to train. And he's the one that started this whole if you don't carry this round and and a glock you've got a little dick....Well I haven't seen him whip it out to prove that he's not carrying that gun and that round with a little dick anyways.
Well, yeah, it being the most popular round in the world would kinda matter when you need it most. Let's assume the realistic scenario of a government collapse and a civil war in the US, as much as slightly more stopping power is appealing, dumping an extra round into them and reloading your plentiful, cheap ammo that's available at every gun store, police station, and every sensible prepper's stash, makes just a little bit more sense to me.
It's funny how the best all around . 40 ammo / firearm that's proven it's self to be more powerful in every way possible is so hated by these . 9mm guys on TH-cam, the more they test to try to prove the . 40 wrong the more they get MAD at the results, .40 the most reliable ammo / handgun around 💪👍😁.
LOL, you slaying me DAWG! I enjoy the feel of a M50 going off in the palm of my hand, every time I squeeze a round off! Reminds me that if I'm paying a little bit of a price, whatever is on the receiving end of that round is going to pay a little bit more of a price. Hey, carry whatever you're comfortable with and can conceal. I don't think a 44 Mag with an 8 inch barrel is going to conceal, unless you're a Buddhist monk wearing your winter Snuggy. As far as the 357 Sig, that is a beautiful round, with a somewhat magical muzzle flash. Either or, for me. I just happen to be ammo'd up for my Forty.
I hate when people only stick to one caliber each one has its pros and cons. To each is own I love .22 LR for planking/fundamental practice but I wouldn’t use it for self defense. 380 ACP is a little under powered; bigger bullet and it is easier to manage recoil and better penetration then .22. 9mm in my opinion is the best option for carry! They are relatively cheap compared to 45/10mm ammo they get good ballistics and still easy to manage recoil. 40 is a solid round people complain about the recoil but it’s a 40s&w designed to be powerful so it’s a given that you’ll get more recoil. 45 is a big fat round it’ll put a bigger wound channel different recoil then 40 though. I carried a 40 because my mark 23 0 mod was special issue on deployment when you got your tarfu pack and didn’t have time to set your kit before shipping off ,. This is a hilarious video I love it
45 is great unless you're confronted by 5 or more ppl then you better be a damn good shot. I rather have twice the ammo with basically the same stopping power.
@@joehinojosa8314 lol use what ever your best with for sure. I have a 9mm and 50. And a 38 snub but my go to will always be the 40. For every day carry.
I never understood caliber snobs. Shoot what you feel confident with. Though, shoot more than one before you decide. Also, maybe consider not putting all your eggs in one basket. This ammo shortage definitely demonstrates why it might be a good idea to diversify your armory.
😂😂😂 before I knew much about handguns, I'd shot both the .40 and .45. To my surprise I felt that the .45 recoil was more manageable for follow up shots even though it is larger. The .40 was just sharper. I thought it was just me until I found that so many others felt the same way. It just didn't make sense to me personally to carry something with less manageable recoil than a .45 and be smaller than a .45. So I sold my first handgun (in .40) and now stick to 9 and 45.
I was the kid who grew up shooting 1911's. I remember my dad buying an XD40, we went and shot it and had a wtf reaction. He gave it away shortly after... I don't like 40.
Honestly I don't understand all this recoil talk if ur a grown man and can shoot a 9mm.. a 40 isn't that much off....can barely tell the difference...45 as well...what u can tell the difference is the gun ur using...a small lightweight gun with a 40 or 45 can definitely hurt ur hand...I shot a slim line glock 36 In 45 n it kinda hurt but shooting a G27 or G23 is perfect imo ..doesn't hurt....and a full size 1911 feels like a 9mm..imo as well
I loved the humor in the video, but , I carry a .40 simply because it's fun to shoot. any caliber is deadly, I just enjoy the .40. I also like 9's .45's, 30.06, yada yada yada....
It is fun to shoot! I love it when guys say that the .40 is too snappy. Really?!?! Seriously?!?! I just laugh. Especially, when they say that they load their 9x19 with +p or +p+. Some people, I tell ya...If only they would sit back and think about it for a minute.
There's nothing wrong with 9mm Luger or the .45 ACP, but I like the balance between capacity and power that .40 S&W provides. As Colion's "therapist" points out, though, .357 Sig is the best carry round. My Glock and my Sig have swappable barrels, so I can go either way.
I can push my .40 Cal to Magnum velocities when handloading with Longshot Powder. My 135 Gr. can move close to 1,700 FPS and more than 800 FT LBS of Energy!!
Other than, "availability issues," (which, according to GunBot does not seem an issue in as much as it is internet lore and gun store myth) what can really be wrong with 10mm? Trying to find something wrong with 10 mm is like trying to find something wrong with medium rare steaks and blow jobs. To the detractors I say good luck with that.
WRXXXual While I don't know much about the ballistics of the 10mm I will say this. I have only seen a box of ammo for sale maybe 2 or 3 times and I buy a lot of ammo. Everything from .17 to 7.62x54r. I have a 9mm P99AS, .40 M&P, and .45 acp 1911. Love them all and can always find ammo for at least one of them.
.45 is too big, grip ends up too fat, and .45s have reduced range because their velocity starts right at expansion threshold. 9mm is too small, with light bullets, doesn't recoil that much less than .40 in a full size, and only matches .40 power with overpressure. I'll take 15+1(19+1with an extendable baseplate), slightly more recoil, 450-500 ft/lbs with no overpressure rounds necessary. If a modern glock 22 really wears out that much faster than a glock 17, I have yet to see it. Also makes shooting jugs and watermelons much more fun.

Well, when you load a muzzle-loader, you pour the powder in, then place wadding (like a patch of cloth) and then the bullet.

234dilligaf that part
It's funny because .45 out of a steel frame 1911 has less recoil than 9mm out of a Glock

Who needs an IQ test when you can get a Rockwell scale test on your cranium!)
While an experienced shooter should be able to place their shots at will, it is quite a bot more difficult to do so when the target is moving, shooting back and the shooter is experiencing a massive dump of adrenalin in their system.
I appreciate your comment
That’s it in a nutshell. Big or small you can kill them all if you place your shot. Most of us don’t have the luxury of being a sniper and carefully choosing our shot.

You wanna know the truth. No caliber is the best. Whatever you feel comfortable shooting with. that what should matter.
Agreed, along with shot placement
You also have to ask, "Which caliber is best for the task I think I'll need my firearm to do."
If one caliber was best, there would be no other calibers, only the one, as it would be the best at everything... but that is a fantasy, and why we have so many calibers one could go their whole life without hearing about many of them. Much like there is no one tool to build everything, and there are many tools you never heard of, but are really good at one specific application.
Depending on what your up against and if they have armor.

10mm or bust
Been carrying 40 for years. Solid performance, good barrier penetration. Performance exceeds 45 and meets 45 +P. Decent capacity in a smaller frame. And the often overstated snappy recoil isn't a huge deal. Most ppl bag on it because its fashionable to hate it.

There is no cal debate! Cal does not matter. what matters is placing whatever Cal you have effectively. If I shoot one in the face with a .22LR the confusion and the threat stops :)
You're a 9mm guy
Carpe Diem size doesn't matter...says the guy who has the smallest. she may have told you that, but she just didn't want to hurt your feelings. it's like comparing a 223 to a 308. generally a 223 will get the job done, but sometimes you need something bigger. chances are your 9 will be enough. just really sucks when it isnt.

Where do I sign up for counseling with this therapist
Absolutely!
something tells me you want a different kind of counceling....
Carry a 40 S+W,but also have a 9, 45lc take turns with them, haven't had to use them yet, hope I never do but I do carry.
"Most are them are middle children with middle children issues" 😂😂 I actually am a middle child 😭😭
The best caliber is the one you have on your person when you need one.
i carry nothing.... because germany :/
Same problem/country....^^ You re not even allowed to carry a slingshot here....
I carry "only" 9mm ... Because Slovakia! Oh yeah :)
Or I could carry slingshot, or freaking two handed sword :)
(or S&W 500 ... or sawed off shotgun ...)
I understand Rowen, if these Political Pricks had their way neither would we but it's a constant fight to keep them but I earnestly believe you would have to kill some of the people over here before you ever got their guns!
Kyle Dover yea its such a pain comimg from bavaria wher Hk is and not being allowed to carry shit
Damn ... sorry bro ...
4:05 - 4:30 Is a DemolitionRanch intro
Uriah Siner God damn good catch!
Hahahahahahah
haha. So true.
I'm thinking the same thing!
S2000 loving that profile pic bud!
That therapist is GORGEOUS.
The girl that plays the psychiatrist is amazing. He did one of these on 9 mm and 45 as well but never did one of the 357 Sig
haha I like my Glock 23!
yep, me too and a new 43 nice carry both can protect me.
Glock 23 my favorite Glock that than the 19
Im content with my g23....🤷♂️
Leave a nigga with no mind
Draco with a 75 round drum is my conceal carry pistol of choice.
But seriously, the .357 rocks!
i love the .357 too buddy!!! Rock on man!
josh shannon It's a great round isn't it? Thank you, you too!!!
Me too my friend a good gun is just a good gun no matter what type i even like makarovs
I chose the .40 because a boat load of law enforcement real world data showed it had the highest percentage of stopping a threat with one shot.
What?
I'm just going to list a few reasons why your "best 1 shot" statement is wrong..
1. .45
2. .50AE
3. 357
4. .44
the list goes on... .40 is not the best ONE shot handgun caliber...
TheTopHatGamer I'm not going off stopping power stats collected in lab testing. I'm talking about the results reported by decades of collected law enforcement data. Stats are great, real world results are better when it matters.
TheTopHatGamer I am going to assume he meant what officers carry. They do not carry 50 AE and to my knowledge none carry .44 anymore.
Jason Dunbar Why would you base your stats on something so specific...
Thats like only buying cars that are police cruisers... You wouldn't carry a round if the police don't use it?
TheTopHatGamer
You forgot 10mm
The people that carry .380....
+John Grammaticus lmao
thats a good caliber too for closer targets i guess
miky smith You might as well carry 9mm at that point.... 9mm sub compacts are usually the same size or slightly larger and you get way better ballistics from the 9mm.
Are a half step below the 9mm junkies. Their both bottom feeders.
I carry all 3 9mm, 40, and 45acp and honestly each round has its pros and cons, it just depends on what you can handle and are comfortable with.
I am a 40 carrier(EDC) and proud of it! PS I also have a 45 for home defense
I damn near fell out of my chair with the .357 Sig comment at the end!! Oh and I carry a .40 and I am NOT confused!!
I think I just heard my favorite quote, " the. 45 moves slower than a bunch of pro-gunners to a national gun registration event"
🤣🤣🤣 I'm a 45 fan but that was hilarious.
Confused is right. It's a personal choice of what works well for you. For me it's the .40 no ifs ands or butts.
So when is the .357 sig video coming out??
My first gun was a .40 S&W. Now, I have 9mm, LR22, and 45acp. So my .40 was my gateway drug.
I carry a M-27 Phased plasma rifle at 40 watt range. It's just to cover all bases ;)
7.62x25 all the way.
***** Fuck your level IIIa protection, I've got a tokarev.
5.7 brah
Zajecik Overpriced hipster round.
***** allright, you got me lol
I have to agree. Wish I still had my 7.62x25 to carry.
Why make compromises...just carry a .45 AND a 9mm. Hell, if you like .40, carry one of those too. Boondock Saints style.
There was a fire-fight!
+Dux Bellorum xD
Make like john wick carry two pistols lol.
22lr hands down best round ever.
And one of the very few cartridges to survive the black powder to smokeless powder transition and still be around today.
GenMinion
Yep. People that carry 45 are just lazy.
People who carry 10mm Auto
People who carry .454 casull bitch!
Jeronimo Murruni people who carry RPG's.
TomasPabon
People who play too much Fallout.
Shorty Shorty lol alot of people who carry 10mm don't play fallout at all. I want one for hunting lol .. :P
Ready Prep Go people who carry 120mm bitch
These days, those who carry forty just like being able to find ammo.
Never had a Problem finding....even during the Pandemic I love the 40SW!!😃
I have a 40 because it was cheap and I love it. I also carry a 9 because it’s so small and can conceal well
She killed the whole argument when she dropped the .357 sig line I'm dead 😂😂😂☠☠☠
*Carries .50 Deagle still waiting for vid
+Kristopher Born People call 'deagles' deagles outside of call of duty.
+UnchartedGamer You guys don't even realize we started calling it the deagle in the first versions of counter-strike... Where the fuck is the COD game with it?
People with a tiny penis.
Justin Leo that's what I was gonna say
I can't stand desert eagles... they sound like airsoft guns when you rack that slide
Whatever caliber you feel comfortable with and are effective with is the right caliber.
I love 40 s&w haters people just settle on standard 45 or 9mm because it's popular the 40 is like Tom Brady it has all kinds of haters
Can't disagree with you there, some people are just too mainstream.
And now I need to switch calibers why did you have to use Tom Brady
Well, yeah, it being the most popular round in the world would kinda matter when you need it most. Let's assume the realistic scenario of a government collapse and a civil war in the US, as much as slightly more stopping power is appealing, dumping an extra round into them and reloading your plentiful, cheap ammo that's available at every gun store, police station, and every sensible prepper's stash, makes just a little bit more sense to me.
blicky get the stiffy huh I love 45 I don’t hate .40 tho I’ve had em
“I carry a .357 sig and all you guys are idiots” 😂🤣🤣 that’s how I feel standing on the sidelines with my 10mm
I carry a G23 Gen5 or a G26 Gen4
I'm 60 female and I carry a S&W 40. Because it's easy to handle.
The single most important thing is what caliber is going to be most available when TSHTF, which by all accounts could be soon
You Sir have a new subscriber! You had me laughing especially your reference to "Bad Boys"
I carried a 40 because my mark 23 0 mod was special issue on deployment when you got your tarfu pack and didn’t have time to set your kit before shipping off ,. This is a hilarious video I love it
LMFAO!! That was probably THE funniest thing I've seen lately!
I Carry a 45, my Daddy carried a 45 and His Daddy carried 45. Yep, we ALL carryd 45! Let me spit my chewing tobacco out now.
45 is great unless you're confronted by 5 or more ppl then you better be a damn good shot. I rather have twice the ammo with basically the same stopping power.
@@rebel187left True. Most Cops carry 40S&W. High power with higher capacity. I was jus being "Old School"
@@joehinojosa8314 lol use what ever your best with for sure. I have a 9mm and 50. And a 38 snub but my go to will always be the 40. For every day carry.
@@joehinojosa8314 I got my 556. With three 100 rnd mags for when shit hits the fan along with my semiautomatic 12 gauge ;)
@@rebel187left You Terminator 🕶️ You: "Die UZI 9mm. Die 45 longslide with laser sighting"
Iv shot many calibers before i chose 40s&w. I just like it.
I never understood caliber snobs. Shoot what you feel confident with.
Though, shoot more than one before you decide.
Also, maybe consider not putting all your eggs in one basket. This ammo shortage definitely demonstrates why it might be a good idea to diversify your armory.
"thErE's OnLy TwO gEnDeRs."
Me, an intellectual: "Umm...NO! 9mm and .45 aren't the only two options. When are y'all gonna learn this???"
Reduce the bullet weight to 155 gr. then tell me what you think??
I was the kid who grew up shooting 1911's. I remember my dad buying an XD40, we went and shot it and had a wtf reaction. He gave it away shortly after... I don't like 40.
I had tried perhaps a dozen handguns chambered in.40 s&w and couldn't see the appeal until I found the right one, which happened to be a sig p239
I enjoy that luxury, with my g23, getting ready to try the .357 sig.
In 2020 we should have every caliber, that way we might be able to find ammo for one of them. Good vid, classic ending.
I can push my .40 Cal to Magnum velocities when handloading with Longshot Powder. My 135 Gr. can move close to 1,700 FPS and more than 800 FT LBS of Energy!!
Longshot is the .40's secret sauce. Good without it, great with it.
I have a 10 mm, I love the 10 mm, and I can't wait for Colion's video lampooning 10 mm advocates and disciples.
