I think Ray Stevens if he's not already in the Country Music Hall of Fame needs to be cuz this man is funny him and his friends right music together but he's one hell of a singer even if it is comical music he's saying a few songs that wasn't comical Misty Everything Is Beautiful every time I hear everything is beautiful go to bring a tear to your eye because he's singing Straight From the Heart doesn't matter what color your skin is or how long your hair is we all should get along
The long awaited event happened last year. Ray was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in March 2019 and the official induction took place in October 2019. I have not made my way to Nashville yet...I was at his CabaRay showroom back in 2018 and I visited the Hall of Fame, too...but of course that was before he became a member. I want to get back to Nashville for another CabaRay concert and a Hall of Fame visit to see his plaque in person.
I miss the Era of "fun" songs. I guess it was a natural progression from old time radio comedy to rock and that foundation has been lost. We had a juke box growing up in the 60's and %10 of the songs were comedy skits (Ajax liquor store-a classic!). The juke box was with us through the 80's and along with Led Zep & the Beatles & Stones, we still had those fun songs like the streak, Amos Moses, guitarzan, snoopy & the red barron, whackadoo, hippy & the redneck... I could go on. I was also thinking how cool it was for the stones to cover old blues tunes and realize that none of today's music will ever be reinvented or rediscovered. There will be no more Clapton "Crossroads" (Robert Johnson). Rap killed the black music greats
I remember being here when i was really really little and this freaked me out so much they had to put me in the sound booth. Still the best day of my life i got to meet my old hero
I’ve LOVED Willie Forever & Ever & that’s a Lot of Years! How fun it would be to meet him & see him perform! I Love 💕 You Willie, Waylon & the Boys❣️ ♥️😂♥️🙋♀️♥️🫶♥️
Looks like this was recorded at his theater in Branson, MO. I got to see him there years ago. He did a really great job, especially since he told me during the Meet-and-greet afterwards that he was fighting a bad cold.
Gotta use stink bait if'n ya'll wanna catch a big ol' Mr. Whiskers! Except for the really brave ones who go noodlin'. If y'all are unfamiliar with "noodling", here ya go! Drinking moonshine is optional, but certainly helps, I hear! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noodling

hahaha. I was totes gonna make a comment almost identical to this one when I discovered that I had already done so previously. ain't gettin old fun? :/
That was my favorite part! Was not expecting him to go sailing up in the air! How old was Ray here? Not a young fella, but he sure put on a great performance!
Sorry,no,he doesn't do concerts anymore. He walked away from that life,he's happy now doing what he always wanted to do,have a normal life like everyone else. He does go home for all the holidays,he still loves Graceland. And he sees his grandchildren,he adores them, he will never go back to the world stage. He has released more music, that he has put onto yt for for free. And he still loves his fans.
TY for this answer. I am enjoying his music on TH-cam and I am thankful he has put it there. I accept this wonderful gift. I worked hard to educate myself. I used my education to help many people. I now am a retired Psychiatrist (MD). Then bacteria entered my brain and ended my working life. I am happy to be alive and count myself lucky bc only one in ten survive bacterial meningitis. Ray is bringing me joy on TH-cam bc my income is limited and is soon to be further limited. I truly am thankful.
was this show filmed in Branson, Missouri? It looks just like the one my dad took us too when we were kids. My dad passed on last month and i have tears in my eyes watching it.
Ray is about 80 now and still kickin' ass!

What a great song -- and time capsule of pop culture.

Love the light show at the end. I wonder if he stills does concerts.

I have this on vhs 📼 and wish it would come out on dvd. 📀
I LOVE THIS VIDEO
Anyone one else think the beginning interview reminds them of the streak?
Yeeaaah, ah did!
whole thing sounds like Bob Seger's Old Time Rock & Roll..
I actually did it in 1975 . Man those were the days. Y'all younger ones just can't imagine how cool it was to be young then.
It does
I always wondered where ray went when he got lifted my grandma said maybe he went for a ride on his Harley
This is awesome
He just left the building!
This made my day❤❤❤
he had a tough crowd that day I guess I just can't believe his kind of music is going out
He is not going out! Fortunately! Great as ever! But you're right. The crowd is embalmed!
If this was an afternoon show, it would’ve been predominantly older people on a tour. Those crowds are definitely not as lively as the evening shows…
First time I've heard this song. Hilarious!
I remember seeing that on TV.
Ray strvens is so funny 😂😅😂
Love it
hello Mary...
He’s awesome and very funny ❤❤❤❤❤
Hilarious stuff. He just makes you laugh, can't help yourself.
was this show filmed in Branson, Missouri? It looks just like the one my dad took us too when we were kids. My dad passed on last month and i have tears in my eyes watching it.
Yes it was! He had a theater down there named after him, and it played there up until about 9 or 10 years ago, I think.
We used to go all the time too!
