hey tasti - i didnt see any bleeding on these. I nitially washed them, when I got them which is what I advise everyone to do when you get new brushes - and i just notice very faint yellow on the shampoo suds, which is normal as thats caused by the STARCH manufacturers use on the bristles to protect the bristles when stored. Otherwise, no black bleeding or anything I noticed.
hey noonie - theyre all pretty good. You can watch other reviews too who has bought these brushes for reference. I personally like the italian badgers my self.
I was just recently introduced to Italian Badgers (like early this year), for years i favored the typical Goat Hair that most brushes have. I find that badgers picks up more product and blends color much better with ease.
hey Tish - there are certain brushes that you cant find in Painting Brush. Like the duo-fiber, I havent seen them in craft stores, as well as kabuki brushes and such. So definitely just another alternative for brushes that are harder to find in craft stores.
stippler duo fiber for liquid foundation, Jumbo Face Brush for loose powder, any of the badger shadow and crease brush for eyeshadows, angled contour for blushers, badger buffer for bronzers, and kolinsky retractable for lips.
hey Liz - they were out when I originally ordered my brushes. I can tell you that the other badger brushes are great! I believe this is a slightly bigger 'buki brush than the Pink Buki - but hey, for $4.95 get the pink one too, its cute! So get both LOL
hey coke - the denser the brush themore coverage you get - so a buffer brush is ideal for that purpose. The paddle brush will give some nice dusting specially if youre using MSF as a setting powder.
if you want more coverage, a kabuki or buffer brush is best as you can really buff the product into the skin. If you use mineral powder to set foundation, or to use it as a blotting powder then the paddle brush is great for that. No difference between the bukis, aside from the color really.
Kabuki Brushes is a type of a buffer brush, so technically its the same. Some Kabukis are domed top, which will give you medium coverage, and great for light dusting. And the FLAT top kabukis will give you fuller coverage.
Koren I just want to say that I haven't been excited or motivated to wear makeup since college- till I came across your videos. You are great and keep inspiring. Thanks!!!
Now, now, we all need to respect everyone's opinions. Some people will like them some people will not. Everyone have their own preferences. I totally respect Makeupsquare's opinions, and if she doesnt like something, she will definitely voice it out. Whether its good or bad reviews. And I hope same with my own reviews, that people will respect if I give somethings good, and some things bad.
Thank you for the great reviews on these brushes. They really are great alternatives - not just to MAC but other brands as well. I adore the badger line and they are in the regular rotation for me. Thank you!!
hey cuoremore - ah, I have came across quite few HEAVY-HANDED artists. They are out there. The best non-offensive way is to simply say - can I make a contructive suggestion? try using the brushes lightly. Sometimes you will need to show them how the bristles should look like on skin during application, and sometimes you will have to hold their hand with the brush and show just like teaching someone to write. Dont be afraid to say its too hard.
your videos are great. when you speak or are giving instructions, your are very clear and u make is easy for the audience to understand. and you are NOT boring..lol..good jjob
Hi Koren! I ordered a set of Italian badger brushes 2 days ago from CS. I can hardly wait to get them. It was great to find a company that ships internationally, because good brushes are hard to find and sooo expensive compared to Romanian wages. So thank you for making these videos and I hope my new brushes will be softer than the ones I have right now. For example, my current buffer brush is rather a torture instument :))
I have just found a package from the CS in my mailbox (Italian Badger Brush Set, travel size). CS even included a free gift (Mineral Blush), which is very nice! As my free brush from Lancome is about to fall apart, I'm very much looking forward to using these brushes. They are really soft.
I agree that buffer brushes should have thick handles but this one is too heavy in my opinion, I wanted to love this one since its so soft and dense:( I do agree that brushes should not be agreed with high end brushes when the price tag has so much difference. Brushes should be reviewed individually on how they are in feel and effectiveness.
I recieved my order today from Coastalscents I really like them I ordered deluxe buffer brush, duo fiber stippling brush, foundation concealer brush large, eyeliner brush-super fine(love eyeliner brush works great with fluidline makes a really thin line) facial brush, italian bagder chisle fluff brush and also order bare naked glaze lip gloss all for a total of 37.67 including shipping. The brushes are nice!! They were packaged very nicely in a drawsting bag plus a free sample of eye shadow
Hi Koren - if you go over to Crown brushes, you'll see that they have a kabouki fan brush in addition to the regular fan brush in this same Italian Badger line - now that brush is super substantial and you might like it better than the regular fan you show here if you're liking badger brushes lately. I think it's about $11 or $12.
Oh my-you are so amazing!! I am building my shopping cart as I write this :) One quick question-have you come across anything comparable to the MAC 252? Thank you so much! You are truly a 'guru' and I absolutely love your videos!!
aww ur soo thoughtful! i love ur vids, and appreciate ur tips and advise ALOT!! I wish i could afford mac brushes, but... for now these alternatives are makin it possibe for me to buy more product, considering i barely have any of that yet either. lol
Can't wait for you to review the PINK brush colection!!! I want them all :) Can you recommend me between the New Pink colection or the Italian Bager ? Have a good one.. Thanks ;)
@PinkGlitterable If you dont have a credit card/debit, you can buy a prepaid visa or mastercard from many different stores.Just fill it with the amount that you need, and you will be able to order. Hope this helps!!
I hope that you would feature more make up tips for mineral make up user. soon! love your videos and it helps me a lot. But can't seem to find some of the stuff here in the Philippines. Which leads to me ask you are you Filipino? (if you don't mind me asking) cause you do look like Filipino
you are the best. I've been watching all your videos on the brushes and I'm planning on getting most of them. I wish I could afford the M.A.C. brushes right now but they are a bit to expensive. I think I'll wait until I start cosmetology school and write the brushes off on my taxes. haha. But thanks for all the wonderful Ideas.
i actually went to Michael's yesterday and spent a good 15 minutes in their brush section... i tried em on my skin... but i felt kinda silly ^^ i didnt any.. im still waiting for my order from coastalscents.
Koren thanks so much for the review! I love my Mac and Stila brushes but I think I'm gonna try these too LOL!! Which one do you rec for bronzer and loose powder?
From what I know badger hairs/fur whatever is imported from China (of course). Badgers are not shaved. In China they are meat source, being found at the market. So...what more can I say?
Hey Enkore thanks for all the info. I was just wondering if your badger brushes blead when you clean them? I heard someone on specktra say that thiers did. Thanks again!
Hey Koren, I've watched all these videos about coastal scents brushes and I'm thinking about buying some. My question is which ones are best such as the regular black handled, Italian badger, or the pink brushes?? I know they're cheap, and they'll probably be replaced by MAC brushes (one by one of course haha!), but I do not want to buy something online that is as cheap as one from like Wal-Mart. :)
hey sophia - the paddle brush is excellent for loose powder. The Barger Large is great for bronzing.
hey Nurita -Italian Badger Buffer. I got another one for applying shave cream and its so multi use!
hey Arm - yes, Loew Cornell have a filbert cut brush in golden taklon similar to 252. Check out Michaels.
awe, thanks Blue!
I am going to review them - Im testing them right now, and OMG I love the pink handles. We'll see how the bristles do.
hey tasti - i didnt see any bleeding on these. I nitially washed them, when I got them which is what I advise everyone to do when you get new brushes - and i just notice very faint yellow on the shampoo suds, which is normal as thats caused by the STARCH manufacturers use on the bristles to protect the bristles when stored. Otherwise, no black bleeding or anything I noticed.
hey verdandi - yes it does as it is denser, so it packs on more product/color.
hey choi - I dont think its too dense for that purpose. Its super soft definitely check it out.
I like the iBadger, but for cute factor, the pink is cute. Go for the badger, add the pink later if you still want another.
hey noonie - theyre all pretty good. You can watch other reviews too who has bought these brushes for reference. I personally like the italian badgers my self.
hey chuck - so far the synthetics I have from them are pretty good. So definitely give them a try.
I was just recently introduced to Italian Badgers (like early this year), for years i favored the typical Goat Hair that most brushes have. I find that badgers picks up more product and blends color much better with ease.
Yes! surprisingly, it actually works well with foundations.
hey Tish - there are certain brushes that you cant find in Painting Brush.
I would'nt use natural bristle on liquid or gels - definitely check out the synthetics for that - the new ones looks like badgers.
hey Liz - they were out when I originally ordered my brushes. I can tell you that the other badger brushes are great! I believe this is a slightly bigger 'buki brush than the Pink Buki - but hey, for $4.95 get the pink one too, its cute! So get both LOL

I LOVE your videos! I must say I am addicted to watching! Question- are you familiar with air brush foundation? If so, what brand would you suggest?
the 219 are a little smaller/narrower
Koren thank you for all your videos, they are very helpful! I love that you a very thorough/informative! I've learned a lot. Keep them coming! lol
hey krist - they are closer to the 219 pencil brush.
both are great powder brushes, i do however, personally like 150 for loose powders.
you sure can use that buffer large brush
your videos really help everyone out!!!
thanks do more!!!PLEASE!!!
your the best!!!
I use Sony Vegas - before, I use WinDVD Creator.

Thank you for the great reviews on these brushes. They really are great alternatives - not just to MAC but other brands as well. I adore the badger line and they are in the regular rotation for me. Thank you!!

I love mine, Koren. I just wanted to let u know you're doing a great job.

hey VP doll - definitely check out Temptu Airbrush foundation. Their S/B Line is the best Ive used so far. Temptu (dot) com is their site.

awesomeeeeeeeeee.
Koren thanks so much for the review! I love my Mac and Stila brushes but I think I'm gonna try these too LOL!! Which one do you rec for bronzer and loose powder?
nice tarzan song in the beginning
which would be better, a kabuki brush or a buffer brush? they seem to be the same to me.
From what I know badger hairs/fur whatever is imported from China (of course). Badgers are not shaved. In China they are meat source, being found at the market. So...what more can I say?
hey Koran.
Do you think you can do a review on brushes from the bodyshop?
i couldnt find the buffer :(
Hey Enkore thanks for all the info. I was just wondering if your badger brushes blead when you clean them? I heard someone on specktra say that thiers did. Thanks again!
great....
I have the MAC brush for foundation and it looses a lot of hair, annoying!!!
Hey Koren, I've watched all these videos about coastal scents brushes and I'm thinking about buying some.
