- The NC500 is an iconic route around the North Coast of Scotland, measuring roughly 100 miles. I've never done it and John had never done it. So why not do it in a Triumph Stag? As this trip shows, there is no reason.

So nice you were able to share a road trip with your father in a lovely classic.
Yeah, the guy is amazing at 84 and still out and about everyday
Hi Henry, Amazing trip with jaw dropping scenery....😮 Thanks for sharing.
Yeah, great trip and I'll keep some great memories
What a fantastic trip, it's a must to have ago. Very much like the passes in the Lake District which I have driven, Well done you. Thanks for sharing some great views and driving roads. All the best Bob. (the Stag seemed to perform very well)
The Stag was stunning throughout. And the Lake District definitely deserves a tour. So many roads so little time
Great road trip Henry, My Mother was what we call over here a WarBride, She came from a large family in a small town, Calderbank close to Glasgow. I have been close to where your trip went but never that far north, Debbie and I did the Scotch Whiskey trail back in 1989..the last time I visited Scotland..I will have to come over again and do this trip...
There are a lot of distilleries on the trail if it took your fancy again
@@HenrysGarage Yup, it sounds like a good Idea...I will work on it..
Great Henry, really enjoyed that. I have driven around the Mallaig area years ago but in a hire car on holiday. Thank you for taking us along these cars are well suited and robust enough for such tours! Recently did the Bicester run from Plymouth in TR7 and it was quite comfortable cruising. Not such good views for content though!
Yeah, it was a great few days
very nice colour scheme
Glad you like it
Henry, I also suffer from a big foot bridging the accelerator and brake in my MGB, as recently as Saturday on my way to a car show. While downshifting and braking my size twelves (US) have a tendency to hit both pedals. I try to quickly lift off and move to just the brake without fumbling with the clutch as well. Even though I make an effort to pick the narrowest shoes in the closet, I still miss the mark once in a while. Looks like a great drive with your Dad to boot.
Yeah, I think it was only going back to older cars thatade.me realise how close the pedals used to be. I really didn't have much driving experience at the time so it was quite nerve wracking
