one of my best holidays was the NC500 you missed a really nice place to stay, Achmelvich beach it has got a white sand beach with crystal clear water aslo a camp site to stay on with a chippy on site that sells the best haggis.
Thank you so much for sharing that. I hope to go back to the NC500 so I’ll be sure to visit. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙌🏼
Love seeing these places.
I personally would stay in two or three places, as a base. Ullapool for maybe 3 nights due to having many great places to eat. (Don’t go to the tourist trap…..The Seaforth, it’s £££)
Live local music, on certain nights.
I did a boat trip from Kyleshu to the waterfall (Kyle shu)
The Belach na Ba, is stunning, I had a gorgeous veiw from my 350 Royal Enfield. Only down side was the obnoxious camper van driver, who had no clue, about giving way, and forced this lady to reverse back, when the passing place was right at his left. So he was told, lol, by several drivers 😅.
Smoo cave is awesomely beautiful. Not done the waterfalls too much of a hike for my hip.
Lochcarron is gorgeous too, nice meal in the hotel.
Great guide for people who wish to visit.😊
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences and extra places to add to the list. Hopefully, I'm going to go back again, so I'll make note.
Thanks for watching and commenting.

Caravanners are more polite and have fluffier dogs lol!
My first ancestor to NZ was from Wales. I love the UK, but have accepted I may never get there. Thanks to you and Winston this content gives a glimpse of such beautiful places to visit online. Thank you! Merry Christmas to you all.
Glad to hear you enjoy our content. Thanks for watching and commenting. Merry Christmas!

Hi Roseanna great video. After seeing this I’m definitely going to Scotland for my next UK holiday! 🙂
There's so much to see and do! I could have made this video 60 stops, but thought that was a bit much 😅

On the north coast I would recommend Torisdale Bay & Farr Bay and strathnaver muesum.
Thanks for watching and sharing your recommended places! I'll put those on my list to visit next time :)
Started following you as it reminds me of my time in my camper Millie and her replacement trips.. I left UK in 2016 after a divorce to live in Spain. So watching helps me to remember some good times in the UK .. thanks for your video/podcasts and be safe ... Ps how's Winston's leg injury 🤕
Thank you so much for watching out videos, so glad t hear that you're enjoying them. Winston is recovering well and should be back to normal soon 😀 Thanks for asking.
Good evening thanks for reply.
Hope weather not too foul in UK
Here days low 20° nights around 8°
If you ever bring pod to Spain .
Come to the hondón valley.. Alicante.
Glad Winston is on the mend 😄

You missed The Golspie Waterfalls and Gorge. A purpose built easy walk path from the car park at the north end of Golspie. The path goes up the gorge and bridges take you back and forth across the burn until you reach the end of the path and the moss wall waterfall and observation point at the end. Well worth it. The path is about a km long.
Oh that sounds incredible 😍😍 Thanks so much for sharing. Which part of Soctland is that in?
@@Roz.S Golspie is on the east coast where Dunrobin Castle is. The burn runs under the main road as you leave the north side of the village and start to climb towards the gates of the castle. There’s a car park in behind the stonemasons yard just before the road starts to rise.
@@Bo88y22 Thanks so much!
Should have been a brigde across the North Sea ... from Stavanger to Aberdeen maybe 😆🥰
Would be awesome!!! It would make the drive to Norway much shorter! 😅
Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@Roz.S 😊😆
@@Roz.S And we could have a caravan caravan ... 🤣😃

Hi Roseanna,
What difficulties do you face, towing a Go pod up such a steep and narrow road with a small car/van on the north coast 500
Hello, I got the Go Pod around the NC500 okay. I've got some dashcam footage of the roads which I'll share in a future video.
My van can tow up to 1000kg and the MTLPM of the caravan is only 750kg (but it's probably more like 600kg as I don't put much in it), so they're a good match. Together, the length of my rigg is 8-meters, and I could only just fit into some passing places so if you have a longer car and caravan, you may struggle. Bends weren't a problem.
The only problem I did have was on the second half of my trip, my van started to lose power going up hills (with or without the caravan). I took the van to 3 garages on route but none had availability to see me. In the end, I just had to drive home. When I got a mechanic to look at her, it turned out that by brakes were binding (I had new disks and pads fitted before I left), so that was an easy fix. Hope that helps.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@Roz.S NO AVAILABILITY.......co,s ....NOBODY WANT,S YOU OR YOUR KIND ..........
Didn't get any pictures of the water sprites. You could tell Winston saw them because he was so happy. Maybe next time.🧚♂
I don't think they show up in photos 🤔😉
@@Roz.S 🙂
Such a pity there is a stone commemorating the killing of the last wolf. I guess then the natives didn't understand or even care how important an apex predator was to the order of things. I hear theres talk of reintroducing the wolf in Britain. Something to bear inmind when letting 'tiddles' out at night!
I suppose it better to remember the last wolf than not to remember it. As you say, things were different back then and they probably had a different reason for hunting them.
A pen-pal of mine lives in a rural area of the US, and she will regularly have to keep her dog and cat inside because a mountain lion will be hunting in the area. I don't think about these things as there's nothing like that here is the UK. Whereas if she goes hiking, she needs to be prepared for bears, mountain lions, etc.
@@Roz.S from British isles history I have read the wolf was hunted into extinction because of the number of live stock the species took each year. Not so dis similar to the treatment of foxes in some regions of the uk. I do find it sad how a wild carnivorous animal can be vilified by humans for just following its own instinct to survive.
Anyway back to caravans lol!
Very sorry for the digress miss rs!
@@alarmactionukalarmactionuk893 I would have guessed that it had something to do with sheep and livestock. Thanks for the follow up 👍🏼
How did you make the NC500 boring
No drone shots
People please! Go other places in Scotland. You won't be disappointed. There was no such thing as ' the 500' a few years ago and maybe that's because it's not some historical route. It's over used and the infrastructure isn't up to managing the amount of traffic and footfall. Please leave it to what it was. There are other amazing places to see all over Scotland.
You are right. We're heading back to Scotland this year but exploring Galloway Forest Park, Oban and Fort William, Moffat, Edinburgh, the Cairngorms, and the Outer Hebrides. The NC500 is great because the road trip is already laid out for you and there are so many great places to see on the route, and I do think everyone should go once. But you are right, we need to be mindful of over-tourism and it's not the only place in Scotland with amazing things to see.
