Another great video Steve..i remember staying at a youth hostel with my school rugby team at loch Morar in 1982. They were filming Local Hero on a white sandy beach there and we managed to walk through the film set...was a great weekend but was a bit tempered as the Falklands war had just kicked off and my brother was on his way with 3 Para...keep up the good work you two 👍

Absolutely beautiful! We’ve come up to those beaches by train from East Anglia - very easy and a wonderful trip. We stayed in hotels in Morar and Glenfinnan, and walked everywhere or used trains and ferry. We will never forget the sunsets. Your images are truly stunning. Thank you so much.
Even as crowded as the big cities are in the UK, Steve always manages to show the beauty of the countryside while finding the places less travelled and with fewer people. Ooh Ardnamurchan. We spent two weeks in a crofters cott a few years ago. Stunning sunsets, deer In the garden, rocky walks, no electricity, whale watching. Beautiful white beaches, blue seas. Strong walking boots needed every day, midges (hmmm) What more could one wish for. Thanks Steve.

As if I couldn't love the West Coast more and you drop a video like this, makes me wanna get in the car and just go! I parked up at the Welcome To The Highlands sign at the start of the video, did some Munro Bagging, stunning sceneries if you haven't done it before. Thanks again to you both! :)

Good to see you and Alicija on the road again, beautiful scenery as usual from you and a good route via Fort William, I did this trip the other way via the Corran Ferry, on my motorcycle, and nearly got wiped out by an Italian tourist driving towards Strontian, and not stopping at his passing place as he should have, just missed colliding with a tree getting out of his road. Ardnamurchan is beautiful, the wee café is a great wee place to have something to eat, and the views from the lighthouse are stunning, Muck & Eigg and part of Skye were visible on the day we travelled there. Even seen a whale out to the west. So thanks again for giving all your followers yet another scenic treat. All the Best to Alicija and yourself.

Yes gorgeous but very difficult roads with more blind bends than a few. I'm a confident driver of our 7.5m Burstner but I was more than relieved to depart the peninsula.
I remember when we went to Ardnamurchan, it was a typical scottish summer day, but we went across from Tobermory and took the ferry to Ardnamurchan, it started to pelt it down on this small boat, only could take 2 cars, and we were bouncing on the boat. Heading towards the lighthouse the light was fading and we needed to go back to our cottage just outside Fort William, so yeah, you had a better day for it XD Brilliant to see it again and makes me want to go back sometime soon.
Absolutely love this trip! I hate to admit that I am probably a frost tender flower and don't think I would go paddling around in that water but I really enjoyed the fact that you guys did it was beautiful! Thank you for all of the hard work that you do to bring these videos to us. This is as close as I will ever get to the places that you showing us. Be well, stay safe, love from Texas.

That scenery is stunning: at the beginning you could be forgiven for thinking it was Norway, and the most Western point looks like the surface of the moon (and probably harder to walk on)! Thanks as ever for a really well made video.
Fab scenery. If you had turned left off the Ardnamurchan road and headed for Sanna sands you could have parked slightly up the hill from the beach and had a superb view over Rum and Eigg. The Sanna beach is nearly a mile of white sand and far less popular as not easy to get to. Well worth it if you come back. The white gateposts on the road up to the light house are a nightmare in a mobile home sized van. On the way out we got nearly stuck, which then meant the lights changed to allow people towards us. Chaos and bad language from reversing car drivers. If you are in a big van, park and walk!
Superb Steve/Alicia, Probably my fav trip of 2021 and one of the top few trips of all time. Surprised you didn’t mention Achnaha the volcano and it’s history. Perhaps add it in summer? Also the ferry port at Kilchoan (Kilhone) is a gem. And the cafe at Saline is superb. 10/10 team 🙏
@@steve-marsh Great video Steve. I visit Ardnamurchan regularly and yes you need to explore the volcano at Achnaha. Don't miss the beach at Sanna Bay next time. With the white sand & blue/green water, you could be in the Caribbean. There's many old settlements in the hills where the stone cottages are still standing.
I immediately recognised the view on to Loch Garry at 0:30 and oh what a cool view that was compared to when I passed through whilst cycling. See this is the thing I've found for Scotland, whilst you may go through a place only once, the memory of how beautiful those places are leaves often leave such a lasting memory, it takes just a glimpse to remind you.
I was there the start of may last year but I never went as far west as you as it wasn’t obvious where the furthest West Point was . Well done the 2 of you . I parked in a picnic spot and it must have been the darkest place in Scotland.
Another wonderful video Steve. Before moving to Moray from Birmingham all my holidays were spent on the west coast and I have stayed on the Ardnamurchan peninsula on a couple of occasions, although I went via the Coran Ferry route. It really is a magnificent part of Scotland as your video clearly shows and I saw more deer here than anywhere else in this amazing country. I have visited the lighthouse and it's absolutely stunning but thank you both for making the trek to the 'real' most easterly point on the British mainland, sadly, a little to tricky for me to attempt at my age! I've also had the pleasure of walking along Silver Sands beach in Morar, it's a real gem of a place, thank you for bringing back some very happy memories.
Ardnamurchan - the drive along via Fort William is very torturous, and the road via the Corran Ferry is very narrow, and runs through some ancient oak forest with incredibly wind sculptured ancient trees (tiny, unlike the majestic great oaks in the less wind swept areas). It's well worth the climb up the lighthouse as the views are incredible.
Went that way when we ran a Triumph motorcycle event 'West to East via the middle' Ardnamurchan point to Lowestoft though the square at Meriden, was an interesting ride
More of the great scenery from the west coast though there is an abundance of it, especially when the weather is nice. It would make it well worth the long drive for you both. Good work.

This must be one of your most challenging videos yet Steve, I remember the loch side narrow roads used to terrify me, you wouldn’t catch me in the driving seat, even though my late husband and I were taught to drive by the Nottinghamshire Constabulary Police driving Instructor….I didn’t have a death wish, anyway you both made it safely to the rather impressive Ardnamurchan Lighthouse with its stunning views, but I’ve never seen such unforgiving terrain that you ventured over, you really are intrepid travellers, the view back to the Lighthouse and those Magnificent Majestic Stags made it all worth while for me, I can’t think of anything more challenging or scary than Kayaking in the sea 🌊 thank you 🙏 both for sharing another extreme challenge with us 🤗

Beautiful, some of these places we passed through in our own travels around Scotland when we still lived in Aberdeen. You pair live the life we wanted and dreamed, only hubby had a full-time job to go to and we didn't have TH-cam quite back then to help us along! And now we have no possibility anymore since hubby has been stricken with progressive MS and become paralyzed so now we live the Scottish roadtrip life vicariously from the US via your vlog. You missed going to Sanna beach, turn north before the lighthouse. Huge area of golden sands and the best views of Eigg and Rum.

I immediately recognised the view on to Loch Garry at 0:30 and oh what a cool view that was compared to when I passed through whilst cycling. See this is the thing I've found for Scotland, whilst you may go through a place only once, the memory of how beautiful those places are leaves often leave such a lasting memory, it takes just a glimpse to remind you.

I was there the start of may last year but I never went as far west as you as it wasn’t obvious where the furthest West Point was . Well done the 2 of you . I parked in a picnic spot and it must have been the darkest place in Scotland.

Another wonderful video Steve. Before moving to Moray from Birmingham all my holidays were spent on the west coast and I have stayed on the Ardnamurchan peninsula on a couple of occasions, although I went via the Coran Ferry route. It really is a magnificent part of Scotland as your video clearly shows and I saw more deer here than anywhere else in this amazing country. I have visited the lighthouse and it's absolutely stunning but thank you both for making the trek to the 'real' most easterly point on the British mainland, sadly, a little to tricky for me to attempt at my age! I've also had the pleasure of walking along Silver Sands beach in Morar, it's a real gem of a place, thank you for bringing back some very happy memories.
So glad to bring you some very familiar landscapes :) I fancy trying the ferry next time :)

Ardnamurchan - the drive along via Fort William is very torturous, and the road via the Corran Ferry is very narrow, and runs through some ancient oak forest with incredibly wind sculptured ancient trees (tiny, unlike the majestic great oaks in the less wind swept areas).
It's well worth the climb up the lighthouse as the views are incredible.
If you took the road along the southern side of the peninsula you would pass through a couple of small "villages", one of which had a cafe/tea room.

Went that way when we ran a Triumph motorcycle event 'West to East via the middle' Ardnamurchan point to Lowestoft though the square at Meriden, was an interesting ride

This must be one of your most challenging videos yet Steve, I remember the loch side narrow roads used to terrify me, you wouldn’t catch me in the driving seat, even though my late husband and I were taught to drive by the Nottinghamshire Constabulary Police driving Instructor….I didn’t have a death wish, anyway you both made it safely to the rather impressive Ardnamurchan Lighthouse with its stunning views, but I’ve never seen such unforgiving terrain that you ventured over, you really are intrepid travellers, the view back to the Lighthouse and those Magnificent Majestic Stags made it all worth while for me, I can’t think of anything more challenging or scary than Kayaking in the sea 🌊 thank you 🙏 both for sharing another extreme challenge with us 🤗
We were so knackered after this weekend! But worth it for those beautiful views :)

Beautiful, some of these places we passed through in our own travels around Scotland when we still lived in Aberdeen. You pair live the life we wanted and dreamed, only hubby had a full-time job to go to and we didn't have TH-cam quite back then to help us along! And now we have no possibility anymore since hubby has been stricken with progressive MS and become paralyzed so now we live the Scottish roadtrip life vicariously from the US via your vlog. Thanks Steve enjoyed that. I plan to be there in May. I didn't have time last year but catching the Corran Ferry and the ride to Salen was one of the best of that trip apart from going to Plockton and stopping at the The Croft Cafe

Brilliant.Your best ever,beautiful scenery.When we visited in summer Lighthouse was open and I think they sounded the fog horn we drove from Fintry a round trip of 140 miles. Now view it from the Calmac.
