Wow. So absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for sharing more of your beautiful country. Scotland has always been a bucket list place for me to hopefully see where my ancestors came from. But at this point im starting to feel like if I went i may never come back to the US. Such beautiful country and so much to see & experience
Beautiful, beautiful video! Robert you have such an incredible eye and such a heartfelt compassion for your country and all of its beauty and you deliver it on a silver platter every time. I’m in awe of its beauty and the many different landscapes it has to offer let alone it’s incredible history. Okay, I did need to hold onto the arms of my chair as I felt wobbly at the heights you were at! Lol. Thank you and your lovely family for the wonderful adventures you take us on. May you and your family have a wonderful blessed Easter. ❤❤
Or the wrong side of the road for us Americans!! So looking forward to my Scotland vacation but must admit I'm a little nervous about driving on the left!😂
YAY Robert filmed a "Drive" film. Beautiful scenery and lots of historical nuggets. We have "Robert's Rules" now we can add "Robert's History" too !! And not a moo cow in sight he he he. But we did get the odd sheep and the car park buck.
Funny you mentioned getting lost. We do it on purpose because you see so much more of the real country and people. This brought back a lot of wonderful memories. What you did on a weekend took us a week and we wanted more. Scotland should be on everyone's bucket list whether you are of Scottish descent or not. Thanks Robert.
That was amazing scenery! Wow. So much to see and you shared it with all of us. Thank you. I would not have done well oh that bridge, as I would have been crawling and probably shedding a few tears. 😮. Great to see Callum hanging about for photo opportunities. 😊
Thank you Robert for another Amazing trip oot👍 The scenery/history is Amazing 😍 and your camera angles and filming is Fantastic👍 Oh get you Clamping 😂 Have a wonderful Easter 🐰 🐣 weekend Robert and family ❤
Just incredible Each point of Scotland is so different in landscape. Shetland is a place I'm curious about. Thanks for your efforts and hope you enjoy the long weekend hiding eggs. 🐣🐇
Beautiful journey... Love the seascape... It would be a good weeks journey so one could sample each town along the way, their food and individual culture... Thank you again for the tales and yarns of yesteryear
Wow It is beautiful with so much history at every turn. I truly appreciate you giving so much of yourself to bring us so much. Scotland is so beautiful.
Another great video rob, perhaps you could steal graham away along with your other siblings and go on a weekend trip to some places in Scotland, I'd say it would make for some great content, keep up the great work 👊
Just cycled back to watch this one - splendid video, spectacular scenery, and some waypoints for further exploration. Loved it! Thanks for spending a weekend on the project for the channel!
It is very nice to see so many places I saw when my mom and I toured the Highlands in a tourbus, fond memories. We did see inside Dun Robin castle and Smoo cave, but I see a lot of things we didn't have time to stop for back then, downside of a guided holiday. I definitely want to do this again with my own family one day. 😊 Thanks for the tour.
Oh my...I had no idea such a road existed! My kind of road trip...but you can bet I wouldn't be in a hurry...that's too wonderful an adventure to rush. I doubt anywhere in Scotland is boring! My sister & I would have jumped up & down on that suspension bridge...be thankful we weren't there...😅
What a great wonderful road trip! Thank you for taking us with you, Robert! This is on my bucket list for a motorcycle trip - definitely!!! Will be an iron butt trip starting in the middle of Germany. 😂😂😂 Love ❤ and greetings from where the bridge of Remagen is located 😊
I really liked the gorge, beautiful! You give us Scotland in a way we could never see it, even if we are there! Thanks so much for getting me to Scotland, even if I am still in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, 🇺🇸 😊
The answer is - obviously - a resounding 'No'. My advice would be to take in the north coast as part of an introductory tour.... then come back for the detail.. time and time again.
What a great channel. Just stumbled across your channel whilst in the highlands. Watched a few videos. Really cool, right duration, great shots, very informative and delivered by a funny engaging presenter. 👍🏽
Bravo, Robert! Perhaps someday I'll ship my crappy Jeep across the pond and we'll do it again. I volunteer to be your foul-mouthed sidekick in a cowboy hat that just says "F... Me" at every bit of amazing scenery, and you say all the funny stuff. I think we could sell it. Remind me to drive on the correct side of the road. :)
So many childish giggles during this vlog. Had to be done though. So thats an official bucket list holiday (cos no, I wanna stop and enjoy way more!) you should feel cheated Robert. However it is of course an area of must and so I will! Off to play it up to my kids 😁 they are older too so they can pay as well 😂😂😂
Love your glamping cabin. You could live in it. Tiny houses are gaining popularity in the U.S. (& other places, too). You could move right in...it's a great tiny house!
Love the west coast but the midges eat you alive in summer..last visit up to apple Cross/ Fort William/ glencoe ect must be nearly 20 year's ago and we went by motorbike and used campsites 😂...we are very lucky to live in such a beautiful country 🏴🥰❤️
You can, but it’s not the same when rushed. I did it during Covid times, October 2020 and went on a Saturday afternoon and came back on a Wednesday and got a lot done but if I did it again would take at least a week to fully enjoy it.
@@scotlandunplugged definitely lol They live about 5 mile away from where I live, they have their gym and their shop, they do cold water therapy all over the area
Okay.... really light on the death and religion but I'll let it slide this time :) What an amazing drive..in my younger years on a bike perhaps? Now... anything fast.. I could do some real damage on that road. By the by.. you know your wife is a saint .. right? If my husband did that trip without me.. he might be talking to my lawyer upon his return..to hell with 40+ years!!! Thanks for the beautiful video.. made my Easter weekend!
@@scotlandunplugged Remember the Rogers and Hammerstein song quote ' somewhere in my youth or childhood I must have done something awfully good'... Sound of music.. if you're not old enough to remember ;))
I would not advise anyone to attempt this in a one night stop over, or all you will see is single track road. Not long back and did it in 3 nights and it felt like all I did was drive. the 500 is worth the effort. Please bare in mind No EVs in a busy period and no petrol cars that require 98 ron or above fuel. Yes the scenery particularly on the west coast is as good as you will get and it changes month to month.
You can do it in a weekend no problems you can also do it in a day but do it in may/June when the days are longer like we did when we was younger but that wasnt publicitsed then not like today people use it like a race track and no wonder the locals have the arse sometimes
Traditionally, really basic accommodation for workers on farms or estates. Nowadays, they tend to be a basic shelter (a small house with no electricity etc) for walkers to use for shelter. There are a lot of them around the Scottish countryside. 🙂
The answer to the question, is no. You need at least 10 days to do the NC500 and that's just for some of the sights. I could spend months, just on the west side alone. Scotland gives you the best scenery every turn of the road.
One thing you can say about Scotland, it doesn't skip on scenery.
What spectacular scenery! Scotland is a beautiful country.
Oh man... The scenery is AMAZING!!! 😍😍😍
You need to do this trip again but, as a vacation. Bring the wife and take a week or more and spend a day as every point of interest on the way
Glad you did this --the north-east is amazing. And weren't you lucky with the weather!
I am now 100% in love with Scotland ! Such a great channel! My new saying- “ Crack on!”❤❤
P.S- You are not alone in your fear of heights!
Beautiful, Cool, Amazing! Love this trek! I think I'll watch it again.❤

I fully agree with you about getting lost on purpose. It's always surprising what you find when you do that.
The road less traveled.. versus a freeway..
Getting lost on purpose is great. I used to do it in the back roads at home when I started driving. Now I try to do it on foot. 🏃😂

At one point he tried to lock antlers with me, probably because I was crouching down for a better shot. I stayed standing after that!
Very , very cool! But I'm with you - I don't like to rush when I am sight-seeing. Great presentation!!
