So funny to see you exploring the city where I‘m born and raised - but not living there anymore for decades. 🤔 Still it’s irritating to hear you translating familiar names into English like „Sankt Georg“, „Sankt Nikolai Kirche“, Binnenalster“ and „Aussenalster“ - you never did in Mexico or Lituania (as far as I got it) 😁

Of all the Hamburg Vlogs, I've seen, yours have been the most informative and camera stable, so it was a pleasure.

No wonder they say that home is not a place, but a feeling. Lovely video about Hamburg - have visited the city many times and loved it each time. Welcome back to Lithuania!

I agree with your concept of home 🥰 Thank you for taking me back to Hamburg through this video, the food and the neighbourhood. The Elbe Tunnel looks a bit brighter now.

6:05 Saint Nicholas Church burnt also down in the Great Fire of Hamburg (1842). The remains standing today are thus from the rebuilt Neo-Gothic church (designed by the English architect George Gilbert Scott). And the steeple of this church was by the way the highest building on the planet for a few years ( 1874 till 1877). The steeple is a good viewpoint (there is an elevator). Interesting but also disturbing is the exhibition in the crypt on the aerial bombing of Hamburg.
4:39 Really interesting is also the interior of the Town Hall. There are guided tours - also in English. To put it this way: compared to the interior the facade is rather modest.

Thanks for adding more detail! Always nice to learn more. The town hall building was closed bc we were visiting on a holiday weekend but I heard it’s incredible inside! Just a good excuse to go back to Hamburg!

David Attenborough got some competition! This video was sooo awesome! The tempo and B roll, music and voiceover work, hells yeah! Would you say there was any language barrier? Hamburg looks like a fantastic destination☀️

😂😂 I love that what a comment! Thanks so much. No real language barrier, there was always someone at cafes, restaurants and especially tourist sites who spoke some English 👍

Without WWII Hamburg today would look a lot more like Amsterdam. Many of the former channels were simply filled up with rubble of the destroyed buildings - i guess there were still some corpses in that material and perhaps some unexploded bombs as well....
Nice that you mentioned the old Elbtunnel - the real technological event has been that it was the first tunnel ever build with a shield construction, separating the part of the tunnel where the material is taken out of the ground and the part of the tunnel which is dug out but now has to be finished - walls, driveway, electricity and such.

It's great to see my favourite place in Germany again, through your eyes! And you didn't even go to the Tourist Trap that is Reeperbahn 👍 But you DID find the best fish snackbar in the whole of Germany...Brücke 10 😁I can still taste that Krabbenbrötchen 😋😋😋

If you consider to return to Hamburg, I highly recommend to try 'Café Paris'. It has a wonderful atmosphere in original 'Art Deco' style and is located near the town hall in the Rathausstrasse. You can just stop by for a coffee (and cake) or dining out.

There are great guided tours inside the town hall - English and German language. It's pretty impressive.
Without WW II Hamburg would look much more like Amsterdam with lots of channels - the old ones were for the biggest part filled up with the debris of all the buildings plus some unexploded bombs and certainly many corpses..

So you saw three local attractions in two days, otherwise ate and drank coffee constantly, and then the best part was flying home to Lithuania? Not the best tourist video ever.
