This is surely one of the best travel vlogs to Copenhagen I have ever. The production, the pictures the video are so proffesionally made. And you avoided talking about bicycles ;) That is a plus. I hope you will some day grace Copenhagen with yet another visit. Thanks for a great video

You totally spoke straight from my heart in this video! I was lucky enough to have a 21 hour layover in Copenhagen earlier this year so I got to explore the city a bit and stay overnight. You perfectly summed it up in this video, I’ve NEVER fallen for a city so fast as I fell for Copenhagen ❤ it’s an amazing place to be. Cheers from the USA 🇺🇸

Thank you for your visit and feedback about our city. Totally agree with Traver. Awesome vlog about Copenhagen. A tip for your next visit here. Christmas in Tivoli (and around the city centre) is amazing with lots of markets and lights everywhere. Copenhagen is lovely in the summer and also stunning in the winter.

My favourite way of getting to Reffen from the city centre is easily one of the harbour busses - it's a public transport boat, so it costs the same as that bus. So if you feel like seeing Copenhagen from the water, that's definitely a cheaper way to do it instead of the canal boat tours. You don't get the guided tour obviously, but if you can live without that, I would definitely recommend it.

    • @travelforphoebe
      @travelforphoebe  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Oh DAMN I wish I knew this when I was there! I would've much rather done that than the bus!! Thanks so much for sharing, I hope other travellers get to see this :)

Hiya! Welcome to Denmark! I’ve been to Copenhagen twice and it’s such a peaceful quiet city with lots of gorgeous parks. I’ll help you choose the bed. Always choose the top one! There’s just 3 cities in which I would see myself living, it’s London, Melbourne and Perth. Would you see yourself living in Copenhagen? Thank you for sharing Tivoli Gardens, I’ve only seen it from the outside as they were closed with Easter. Now I know I actually missed something, reason enough to visit for the third time. Good thing is that I can be in Copenhagen within 3 hours starting from my home address as it’s just half an hour to the airport and just a 1 hour flight. The canals are gorgeous in over there. I really got the feel that I need to get back to CPH. Nyhavn is a great place. $18 for a sandwich is insanely expensive. Getting on the canals is one of my favorite things to do when visiting a city, boat tours are usually quite good. By the way, have you taken the train to Malmo? That’s a great one-day trip from Copenhagen, just 30 minutes by train. I completely feel you with that solo traveling through Scandinavia. I’m not usually into hostels because I’m a light sleeper, but this hostel seems amazing. I love the Australian accent, it’s the best English there is. I hope you’ll enjoy much more of Europe. Now that you’re in Europe, I can finally catch up with the long bucket list you made for me 😂. Have a wonderful week and safe travels 🤙

Next time you come to visit Copenhagen, you should rent a bike and go exploring. The city lends itself so well to bikes (as you may have concluded yourself as well). That way you can explore even more of the neighborhoods of Copenhagen. Nørrebro and the Superkilen area should be on your list next. And when you visit Reffen again make sure to check out the waste facility plant, CopenHill, with its year round ski slope on the roof (tip: take the elevator up and walk down). It's free to visit, and you get a very nice view from there. Oh, and if you ever do end up moving here, be aware that the winters are long and dark, which could be challenging to an Aussie. We Danes delve into 'hygge' big time in those months and it helps.

I went to high school i NSW and had an amazing year. The Aussies showed me so much of their beautiful country, loved their humor and music. They named me Big Tom, hence your point on the heights of the Scandinavian. I am forever in debt to the wonderful Aussies. In some weird way it made me happy, that an Aussie had a good time in Copenhagen.

As a Dane, yeah, food tends to be expensive in many places. One of the things most danes do, is go to a local supermarket and buy something there, and go sit by the water and enjoy the atmosphere. I've done it myself a lot, go to Rema 1000 or Netto, or some other local supermarket, get some drinks and something to eat, then go to the water and sit to relax with some food and drinks.
But it also depends on what kind of experience you want from your trip.

Take a walk in The Tivoli Garden, try the Canal Tour, look at The Little Mermaid, walk through Nyhavn, see the shopping street Strøget but be prepared it is a little expensive to visit Copenhagen. So enjoyed this travel vlog. I’ve seen a lot of these, and more often than not, they look sponsored by the tourist association of that particular country/region/city. (I’m sure they’re not. Just an impression.)
But yours have a format of slow pace “lets see what the day brings”-kinda vibe. That is perfect for my taste anyway.
The “soul city” thing you talk about, is so familiar to me. So I know exactly what you mean by it. 😉
Glad you felt that way about my capitol. 🌹
    Trivia:
Tivoli Gardens: Walt Disney paid the park several visits in the 1950’s, seeking inspiration for a theme park he wanted to build in Anaheim, CA.
When built - the argument was, that people would npt rebel (against the aristocracy) if they were entertained and having a good time.

Great video! As a local Copenhagener living in Vesterbro I want to say, that one of the best things you did visiting here was spending time in the neighborhoods that make up some of the best parts of the city, and not only the main city centre. All in all you really captured both the vibe here and many of the gems of Cph 🙂

Wow, it is almost too much praise for a local to bare lol. That said, I think Copenhagen should also be experienced from a bike and with a local as companion to get completely off the beating path!
Cheers, lovely video! All the best!

And you then opening up , about finding yourself in your adventures, feeling Copenhagen was your soul place. You just seem so calm and genuinely happy to be here, it really got to me.

What a beautiful video you made of my native Copenhagen. I know it is expensive to come here, but that’s mostly if you don’t know the cheaper places to go. That is true for many capital cities, Paris included. and especially for Copenhagen. The average monthly income in Copenhagen is actually not very high, still people manage to balance the budget and are able to go out and enjoy the many cheap eats on a regular basis 🎉

What a fantastic description of our capital Copenhagen. This is one of the nicest and most professional vlogs I've seen in a long time - well done Phoebe - and great that you liked Copenhagen. However, you should come by Denmark another time - we have good libraries/bookshops in other big cities in Denmark - so maybe you will find the love of your life there?

This is the best vlog i have seen of Denmark! At first i actually thought u was from norway or danish, and just wanted to show turist what to see! U really fit in here!
The prices in Copenhagen is insane. What i tell most people coming here is, check whatever u want in copenhagen, but when u need a place to sleep or eat, try to look outside copenhagen, there are alot of money to save, if u dont have the budget for it :)

… and just like that all the European single guys will be hitting up the libraries in the next few weeks. Lol. What a wonderful town, thanks for the tour once again. I too convert every expense to Aussie dollars even when I haven’t lived in Oz for ten years. But after biting into lunch or dinner, the expense drifts away, to be worried about when it’s time to pay the credit card. Lol. Looking forward to the next destination! 🚆

I agree that there are some places you will visit that will touch your heart & soul in such a special way… a real connection. Italy is that place for me. My heritage includes Italian so for me, it felt like home even on my first visit!

While you probably still will think it expensive, just remember to notice that she mentioned it as AU$ not US$. So 18 AU$ is currently about 11.56 US$.
