As a Brit I can *CONFIRM* yes you have to wait on average 3 years for a dentist appointment but for children it’s months because all hospital, dentistry and optician care is free for anyone under the age of 18 (there are exceptions for pensioners and for pregnant women). So yes- stop taking the mick out of the NHS!!!

4:18 I speak a romance language (Spanish) and even tho we call the moon as "Luna" and the Sun as "Sol", we may also call other moons and stars the same way. Luna is definetly the popular one for other planet satellites, but the most accurate one would be "satélite" and calling other starts as "estrella" is more common even tho calling them as "soles" (plural) is also acceptable

In most langauges, the exact moemnt anyone actually figured out what a star is, they just shrugged and admitted it's the same as The Sun is.
Americans are still struggling with animation, whether they want to call it cartoon or anime, and BOTH are slope-headed misnomers. Cartoon was copied from single page comics like political cartoons, because nobody knew better than bark out that sound. And anime, let's be honest, people MEAN surface level shonen copypasta that ACTUAL creators call "blooming picture".
Instead of "sakuga" to mean "sakuga", Americans just call "cartoons that HAVE sakuga" by the name 'anime' so THEY don't have to have to STEP UP and have sakuga in spongebob, while Japan is out animating Nichijou. The only toolset of Americans is the exclusionary othering of a loanword, so they jsut make the proper name OUT OF the generic name in other languages, where people know what they're talking about. So the "name" of The Sun is "Sol", from languages that UNDERSTAND "soles" are simply stars, so Americans get by NOT undertanding such basic facts.
It's their very own Special olympics, so they can be winners like Donald Trump. They purport to be the number one visual media nation in the world, but don't have enough of a culture to DESCRIBE that medium. Not in Hollywood, video "games", or comics. So Coach (Kocs) is a little village in Hungary. A special type of carriage was invented there, which Hungarians called "kocsi szekér", "carriage from Kocs". German and French borrowed only the first part, as well as English and used it for other types of transport too. It became a slang word for driver and from this, the word for trainer in the US.
As an Indian, I can confirm that "it's true!" is valid for us as well, at least for Telugites! We also say bless you when someone sneezes. And some people see sneezing as bad sign for a work, a superstition. So yeah. Pretty weird.

Well yeah, if you're paying money into the private system to increase the supply, on top of the insufficient supply you already paid for with insufficient taxes, you're going to see the supply increase through the private sector. It's like pouring water on the lid of an empty bucket, and saying you filled the bucket to brim incredibly fast thanks to private business.
You just decided that you're gonna pay their profit personally instead of organizing government to take fair money from EVERYONE on the waiting list, and only to the level of covering the expenses. When the bottom line is that government ABOLUTELY isn't allowed to overcharge and flip over tothe side of profits, it's impossible to land exacly in the middle so the err is going to be on the side of NOT REACHING that full coverage of the expenses, and you get waiting lines.
The difference is, if there are actually dentists AVAILABLE who got the education, your private sector money is going straight into paying them to sit around doing nothing, so that supply is as low as possible and profits high. Your basically PAYING the private sector to strike untl the public is shaken down for more moeny.
Driving 2 hours in the U.K. the accent will have changed a damn sight more than twice.

As a British person, I can confirm that we do have to wait a while. While it isn't three years, sometimes especially with the NHS being overcrowded from the pandemic, we can wait for up to six months for routine checkups and dentist appointments. And that is because our healthcare system, although equipped to handle up to 300,000 people at a time, almost 2% the entire population of the UK, was completely overwhelmed by the first wave of the pandemic, then again by Omicron, then again by the war in Ukraine and by prices. This isn't helped by nurses striking to demand pay rises and thus weakening the system further. But if we were to give them the demanded pay rise, it would cause the pound to begin inflating again, and we may snowball into a situation comparable to Russia or turkey, and as we are trying to reduce inflation, we are having a very tough time with our healthcare system, from 2020 to now. Thanks for coming to my UK health system Ted talk.

Honestly, it often does take three years to get to the dentist. Our healthcare system's been really messed up lately, and waiting lists are EXTREMELY long. You could find some strange lump on your body, call the doctor and they'll say "I'll see you when I'm free" and they'll ring you up two months later.

As a british person, I can confirm about how horrible the dental care system here is, it’s almost impossible to go to the dentist, the only way you can is getting a private dentist and they are so expensive
