I personally like that guy. He was like Napoleon. No xenophobia or feeling of superiority of their own nation, just wanted to make the future generations be proud of them. They had no problems with casually talking to a soldier about his family and life, being helpful to his army, treating everyone equally
I'm not sure if 1939 was THE worst year for Poland, but I'm pretty certain it was the start of the worst occupation they ever experienced.
I'm not sure if the other divisions of Poland would lead to the loss of over 17% of its pre-conflict population, mostly civilians lost to war crimes. Maybe one of the earlier occupations was bloodier than I am aware of, otherwise I'm pretty confident that the worst year for Poland would fall between 1939 and 1945.
I think the Swedish deluge in 17th century was pretty comparable, I think about 20% percent of population perished. Granted, overall number would be smaller since the population itself was smaller.

The worst year for the Dutch was what we call 'het rampjaar', which translates to 'the disaster year'. We had an internal political crisis, a lot of our economy and empire fell, and, we were invaded by France, England, and 2 German duchies.
It was the beginning of the end for the Netherlands.

The dinosaur is very misleading. During the Carboniferous dinosaurs didn’t exist yet. The first dinosaurs appeared over 100 million years later during the Triassic. And the tyrannosaurs depicted are from the Cretaceous, again over 100 million years later. The time when the tyrannosaurs lived is closer to today than to the Carboniferous.
Some of these killed numbers seam hugely exaggerated, were there even 11 Mio. people in Alexanders empire?

Pretty sure the bloodiest conflict is the Warring States period of China, since you could classify that as a civil war and it lasted over 2 centuries with multiple dynasties bolstering some pretty massive armies for the times (and even for today) up to 500-1000k man.

It wasn't 1 v 10, lol. The USSR invaded Armenia and took it out of the war, Italy was supporting Turkey against Greece, the UK gave up their claims without a fight due to war fatigue and gains elsewhere. Only France and Greece really fought them

There is almost as much time between the Mesozoic and the Carboniferous period as there is between the Mesozoic and now.

9:32 I'm going to stop you right there. The Carboniferous Period was from 358 - 298 million years ago. Dinosaurs evolved 60 million years later, during the Triassic Period. So nothing to do with dinosaurs (although there were giant bugs 😬).

That deadliest wars list was strange. No 30 years wars, no conquests of Timur the Lame, Qing conquest of China, and other wars that could at maybe be in 15th depending on the estimatives

Honestly, as bad as the current conflict is, I think Ukraine’s worst year was 1933. That was when they suffered one of the worst famines in history directly as a result of Stalin’s actions (although it’s possible that it wasn’t included in this video because it was part of the greater Soviet Union rather than an independent country)
