Every country did. Italian food wouldn't be much without tomatoes from the Americas that were brought back when Europeans landed there, for example. It would also be nothing without massive amounts of North African and Asian influences (pasta, for example). American food would be nothing without the European food that it is based on - the hamburger is a german invention for example (not that it could be considered great food either way, but you get the point).
Italian food was artificially promotoed to spite the French, when USA switched most production into acting like Walmart, flooding the market with cheap items and taking all the mom and pop stores out, like LOCAL tomato production.
That's why NOW the "gold standard" is getting US obesity levels by eating triple portions of carbs in Olive Garden.
EU is not much better, it WILL destroy EUROPEAN culture the same way USA kills AMERICAN culture and claims ownershit on the 'AMerican' demonym, and CHINA kills asian culture by insisting everyone is "Han chinese". Some don't require language credit at all, some let you substitute credit in other areas (? iirc), and getting an Associate's degree may cancel out that requirement. When I wanted to drop Spanish with 1.5yrs of credit, I was told that my university prospects would be VERY narrow as a result, but it wasn't too difficult to find a good one that didn't require it; that ended up being a moot point when I went to community college before university.
