I heard the Canada alarm legitimately before, it was when the fires got close to our place and everyone was ordered an evacuation to leave the area immediately.
Coming from Ontario, Canada here and gotta say, that alarm sound also comes from your phone and is used for Amber Alerts, which is cool! But was less cool before they made it so you could change it to just vibrate, so you got terrified awake at 2am by all the phones in your home going off with an alarm about an Amber Alert for a city hours away from yours. Thankful they’ve fixed it a bit
Japan is actually quite terrifying because the “calm” alarm that everyone talks about is just the early warning and the second alert is scarier idk even know what to say 💀
As a fellow Japanese person who lives in Japan - sounds all cute and sweet but for us Japanese it’s terrifying - we have other alarms! You should check them out
Actually when the alert sounds on phone it actually scares and shocks us because even if you silenced your phone it still alarms loudly usually it notifies us when there's anything that needs our attention but most of the time it notifies us about Earthquake and Typhoons.
I was in America on holiday, there was huge storms in where I was staying, and I heard my phone ring the EAS alarm in Spanish, we had a joke about it after, but to be fair I DO NOT KNOW SPANISH. luckily it said it in english too.

The EAS of The Netherlands isn't played over TV, but from the many sirens the government has placed on rooftops (no choice in the matter). They're tested each first monday of the month at 1200 hours exactly at full strength, sounding like an air raid alarm for about 1-2 minutes.
The sad part (which he might have done not on video hopefully) is that the sound is progressively going higher in pitch which makes it al the more frighting. To sad it got a low score though.

Yes! Was watching this for fun, and waiting for Finland, since yeah. But yes, Finland's EAS is pretty chill, I've heard it a couple times. Last one was probably about 11 months ago, I think. And I don't even really mind that he rated it 0/10, it's not scary.
Scariest thing I experienced: first time I watched this I was watching this the day the Phone EAS test occurred in the UK. As soon as I started watching, it occurred.
It's amazingly funny how we always rate the EAS alarms based off of how scary they are, when in real life, they're not even supposed to be scary. EAS alarms are made a certain way to catch your attention. It's one of those things that that singular country uses to ensure that their people are paying attention to what the message has to say, and most contries, it's a different one everywhere.

I’m currently living in Quebec, Canada. The EAS alarm of Canada sounds like a timer on cellphones. The sound of it is fine, but the suddenness and loudness of that alarm makes you jump off your chair. I still remember when that alarm sounded at full volume on my phone once at 1am. I had a headache that day because of the alarm. The Canadian EAS alarm just rips my ears.

As an American, the phone alarm for the United States actually makes your heart drop by more than a mile. It went off randomly while I was on my laptop and the alarm F R E A K E D M E O U T. Trust me it's not scary when you hear it from a video but in real life it sounds scary.

U.S. has the same as the Philippines for cell phones. There’s only so many types of sounds you can force upon every phone. The nationwide version can override your phone being on silent mode (as my entire office learned)

The EAS of The Netherlands isn't played over TV, but from the many sirens the government has placed on rooftops (no choice in the matter). They're tested each first monday of the month at 1200 hours exactly at full strength, sounding like an air raid alarm for about 1-2 minutes.

It's amazingly funny how we always rate the EAS alarms based off of how scary they are, when in real life, they're not even supposed to be scary. EAS alarms are made a certain way to catch your attention. It's one of those things that that singular country uses to ensure that their people are paying attention to what the message has to say, and most contries, it's a different one everywhere.

I’m currently living in Quebec, Canada. The EAS alarm of Canada sounds like a timer on cellphones. The sound of it is fine, but the suddenness and loudness of that alarm makes you jump off your chair. I still remember when that alarm sounded at full volume on my phone once at 1am. I had a headache that day because of the alarm. The Canadian EAS alarm just rips my ears.

U.S. has the same as the Philippines for cell phones. There’s only so many types of sounds you can force upon every phone. The nationwide version can override your phone being on silent mode (as my entire office learned)
