Your best lesson yet. This changed everything for me. The long extension solves so many problems. It gives me plenty of time to load, shift, and come back to the ball shallow. Thank you
Love this!!!! Much needed lesson. Recently figured out that it doesn't matter how much I spend on clubs the ball still flies with the same Shi TY hook...so the problem has to be ME (Frowning, Crying and Cussing)
Thank you so much for sharing this video. I'm a type two golfer who needs more rotation. I also think the "punching backward" tip for the back swing is golden! Combine this with your other video on "back left, thru right" and those are great swing thoughts
I like it. Different from your recent video on iron sequence, where you recommend not moving the lead shoulder too quickly. Is the difference because you want to hit down on irons, vs up on driver?
Hey Austin! Yes---watch this video I go through the exact differences with the lead shoulder from iron to driver th-cam.com/video/zqoxhAatv1U/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUcRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIGlyb25zIHZzIGRyaXZlcg%3D%3D
@@CogornoGolf Thanks Eric. I'm off to the course to try it out. I am a better with the driver too kind of guy. Hope I can put down and forward into practice.
great video as usual. Love how thoroughly yet concisely you present the information and the multiple swing types. Maybe a quick video idea, or just a simple answer (hopefully it's simple! lol), is there an easy check to know if you are over tilting at address/setup? Would it be an alignment stick halfway between the legs and a certain eye is directly over it? something easier? something more in-depth? Thanks regardless!

Excellent video as always. Any drills for ‘skying’ the driver? A video on this would be great. I’m developing a better path and more draw bias with the irons but still some tendency to come over the top with the driver (and presume therefore steep). My ball position is forward too. Perhaps a weight transference and upper body position in this video but also don’t want to hang back! Thanks 🔥
Hey Nick! Yea usually the skying the driver comes from the angle of the clubhead being too steep (vertical, down) into the ball That could be from upper body moving too far forward in downswing OR swing path too far out to in ( or both) I would start with this one to help fix: th-cam.com/video/llgmdwOPxx4/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUTRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIGRyaXZlcg%3D%3D Swinging underneath the stick with a shallow angle of approach of the club head to the ball with your head more back should help If not send swings to www.cogornogolf.com so we can see root issues and fix!
ALWAYS a great message. That punch move is a good way to remember to turn effectively. I bet this lesson will help with irons. What do you say? Be well-Russ
Sounds pretty weird but when I set -up with lower trail shoulder, I have a mental block to turn in the backswing and have the trail shoulder down at the end of it!! At start of turn left shoulder is higher!!
Watched this video before the range today. Was having so much trouble not slicing or fading off the tee (even when I wanted a dead straight ball or draw). Hit 20 driver balls out of my bucket, and about 50% of them were driving straight and carrying around 250. Now to work on gaining more distance! Cannot wait to get these tips into a round--thanks Eric!
Also, if pressure is not on the instep of your back foot at the top of your backswing (traditional swing, not stack and tilt), you’ve swayed in order to get the left shoulder further back.
Great vid, notes taken tnx! My driver ruins my scorecard to often with a slice..And 3 putt to often🙄 But wedges are on fire, i holed par from a bunker And birdie chipped another today😁😇
trying to teach myself, comparing my swing to this video, I have a serious problem on the downswing. I can’t seem to “drop” my hands or come down closer to my thigh. I just can’t seem to figure it out

Love it Andy! Appreciate ya watching!
Love it about the lead shoulder . Can we incorporate this with irons ? Lead shoulder taking it all back ?
100%!
Great input.
the importance of releasing that lead side knee and hip in the backswing to get that shoulder turn is imperative.
👊
Thank you for watching!
Great instruction! Clear and concise and effective. Well done!
Thanks Robert!
Great information here.
I can hit a solid pull and my miss is a high weak fade. Definitely gonna try the lead shoulder up and back on down swing.
Thank you!! Hope it helps ya!

My preferred thought as I am starting my backswing is that I am throwing the club back with my lead shoulder hand. But the punching works pretty well.
Love it!

Thank you!! Very nice of you to respond AND so quickly!
Thoughts on playing a shorter driver closer to 44.5 than standard?
Generally you will get more center strikes and end up with a higher average ball speed. Also makes your swing plane a little more vertical which can be helpful.
. . . and you will hit the ball shorter - longer shaft, longer drives given strike near center of club.
I like it----always best to get fit.
But I would say 99% of the time I see players work best with standard or SHORTER......most players drivers are too long for them. Almost never too short.
At what point do you release ur wrist
Hey Alan!
I do through the release details below:

th-cam.com/video/A9cZmh55OZc/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUbRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIHJlbGVhc2UgZHJpdmVy
What makes the turn so tough for most is the arms set up too far forward, actually restricting the turn. At one time, guilty as charged.
Hope this ones helps ya Nelson!
