    Cogorno is the man. I've been using his videos for the past couple years or so, and, despite playing fewer rounds per year, my ball striking, accuracy, and general play have been improving. Can't recommend him enough.

    This is one of your best videos. I have been doing exactly the same faults as your pupil . I have tried your corrections and they work. Instead of sweeping I am now getting the divot I always wanted with such easy. Thank so much and keep them coming.

    Thank you for this video. It’s very timely for me. I’m in the process of revamping my swing. Which was totally incorrect. I want to knock 25 strokes off my game. Now I’m shootings 110+ for 18. My goal is to be consistently in the 80’s.

    • @BeefyPreacher
      @BeefyPreacher ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I’d say watch particularly “Building a Swing to Break 80” on Cogorno’s channel, and do that until you’re a good ball-striker. I did that drill all the way from 100+ to now high 70s-low 80s.

      Hey Jim. Just wanted to say, go for it. It is possible to improve that much. I started learning about the golf swing from watching youtube videos and got hooked. I went from shooting a 132 at Renditions 2 years ago to shooting an 87 in my first 18 hole round the next year. That was 11 strokes better than my previous best at an easier course. Strictly watching tons of swing videos to learn about the swing, which it turned out I was clueless about after 25 years of golf, hitting whiffle balls in my backyard, and about 5 tune up rounds on a 9 hole executive course.
      I’d recommend Eric here, AMG Golf, top speed golf, Mark Crossfield, and zen golf mechanic. They are the cream of the crop IMHO. Good luck!

    Practicing small parts of the swing is a really great idea. Master the small pieces before moving to the full motion. Crawl, walk, run. Most people want to run straight away and they build bad habits. So much great advice in this video.

    I was James. I set up the same way. Bent over, butt back, reaching out. I’m 6’1”, so tall-ish. I’ll share what made it easy for me to set up right, to go along with Eric’s thoughts.
    I was originally told to setup like I was sitting down on a bar stool. That’s how you get the but back so far. The thought that made it easy to do it right was to bend over like you’re looking over a fence. Instead. This gets the weight a little more forward and less hip hinge. Combine that with rotating your right but cheek backwards and then your left but cheek or hip backwards and you gain so much space.
    Before that I felt so crowded. After, I like to say it was like going from a twin bed to a king size bed. So much less crowded! Much better contact came immediately.
    Thanks Eric. More high handicappers, please. Love this video.

    I typically “hit” the ball versus swing thru the ball. Adding the finishing goals of arms out, and standing on right toe, feels much more athletic and powerful (as I hit balls with my irons and hybrids in my garage). Will work on this outdoors tomorrow! Hey there!
      It would help to be able to see your swing in order to give the best advice...send us your swings at CogornoGolf.com so we can help!
      The forward slide AND rotation of the pelvis (hips) towards the target would both play key roles in the trail foot working properly through the ball and into the finish👍
