      Listened to one recently (Possibly from Top 5 Mysteries channel, topic was Nordic Crime), where children were finding bones, took them home, Mammas said don't do that again it's probably a dead animal. Months later the children go back again and start digging about. When reported, the local police said thanks very much, come back if you find any more clues......😢😮

      @@jr7845 actually I’ve always been against the death penalty because I don’t think we should be killing anyone. However between death and letting a murderer go free I would choose the death penalty. Also it’s a bargaining chip. Amazing how most murderers are afraid of dying. They will plead guilty and disclose the location of the bodies when they take the death penalty off the table. Then just keep them in prison until they die

      It is but at the same time the second best case scenario in a cold case is that the murderer, unbeknownst to the victim's family, is already in prison for another crime. The best case would be they are caught without hurting anyone else but that's not likely to happen. She may officially be missing still but at least the family knows what happened and that the guy responsible is no longer free.

    One thing that I noticed about this case was that the clothes were "neatly folded". That would indicate two people willingly taking them off and folding them so they wouldn't look wrinkled when put back on .. not what two people would likely do (fold the clothes neatly) when forced to strip at gunpoint.

      I'm not Scottish, but the narrator is (from northern Scotland, I believe). Still, here's my interpretation. That's a Scottish Highland Stag, an ancient power symbol of Scotland. In Celtic myth and religion, the noble, magestic stag personifies the power of the Other World (realm of the dead and/or the Gods), the forest and untamed nature generally. They are also prey - stalked and hunted by humans.

    I've always been curious as to how evidence ends up missing. Obviously, there are different reasons, but I haven't heard of any besides when evidence gets destroyed (fire, flooding, etc.).
    While the public seems to love to assume foul play is involved every time, that's highly unlikely...especially when there are hard working investigators involved.
    Does anyone have experience in LE who can shed some light on this perplexing subject?

    • @rockstarofredondo
      @rockstarofredondo ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sometimes they move stuff around, change storage rooms or buildings and items get misplaced in the shuffle. • @VioletJoy
      @VioletJoy ปีที่แล้ว

      @rockstarofredondo Oh man. That would be frustrating. I would love to know exactly what happens when things go missing - like the actual moment it happens. How does a box of evidence get lost?? I wish a detective would step up and explain it.

    • @rockstarofredondo
      @rockstarofredondo ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VioletJoy just like anything else gets lost anywhere. Something gets taken out probably for research purposes, then accidentally returned to the wrong place, or not returned immediately and then eventually ends up in a desk drawer or moved by another employee in the building. Boxes can break, especially older boxes. Much of the forensic evidence that may have biological material on it has to be stored in paper so the paper breaks down over time and things can slip out of ripped bags and folders. Imagine the amount of evidence that stays in an evidence storage facility, then imagine how difficult it would be to be totally perfect in keeping that volume of tiny little items organized, sometimes for decades.
