      Yes the time it took to catch him is really odd. Unless being in the military or whatever gave him some protection.
      I also wonder if there was really only one guy responsible for all these crimes since there is such a range in violence level, and so many survivors who could identify him. If all they have is a confession, to link him to the murders and tortures, could there have been someone else? I hope not.

    This story is always just as bone chilling as the first time hearing it. I had a friend when i was in HS, and she would jump in guys cars as we were waiting for the bus. We all would tell her to stop, that's so dangerous. She actually said " I only get in cars of young guys & are cool." She stopped after hearing how dangerous it is. I Pray the survivors stay strong and their families.

      Being in England, this is the first I've heard of this case - our news coverage is somewhat parochial. As for the Moors murderers, they were overshadowed locally in Staffordshire by Morris, the Mansty Gully killer of Cannock Chase. Although only convicted of killing one little girl, it's believed he killed two others, and dumped all three on the Chase. Quite why he wasn't charged with the other two I don't know, but anyway, he died in prison some years later. One of the great ironies of the case was that he lived opposite the local police station where, eventually, he was charged.

Most people will feel safe if there's a couple rather than just a man and let's face it, when we examine rose west for example, the woman can absolutely be the most sadistic.

    Just to keep you right. Brady and Hindley only took four of their victims onto Saddleworth Moor: Pauline Reade, John Kilbride, Lesley-Ann Downey, and Keith Bennett.
    The fifth victim was 17 year old Edward Evans, who was murdered by Brady in Brady's house on Wardlebrook Avenue. I just thought you'd like your details to be accurate. 😉

    • @GodsIsrael
      @GodsIsrael ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It's not about being " accurate" but giving the victims a voice. I have no doubt, the loved ones of the victims appreciate, so much, the time and effort put into making these videos. You go watch a NETFLIX crime documentary and see how they always make the serial killer look like the victim.

    • @angietunstall2555
      @angietunstall2555 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @KJV Bible Music Creator. The victims of the Brady/Hindley Moors murderers have always had a place in my heart as it was the first case I followed fully as it unfolded. That is why I can always name each victim and always do, when mentioning the Moors Murders. And I always make sure that when they are mentioned anywhere else, their details are accurate in every respect. Not only should we remember the names of the victims of crime, but we should ensure that the details about them, including when and where they died, are accurate.
      I am sure you have done just that in this case of The Devil's Moor Murders.
      Thank you.

    • @angietunstall2555
      @angietunstall2555 ปีที่แล้ว

      @KJV Bible Music Creator. If you think I'm shallow and blinkered enough to go to Netflix for my facts, please think again. My details about the Moors Murders come from the facts as they came through each day, in the British Press and through the world renowned and much trusted BBC. These facts were eventually crystallised in the authorised book documenting the murders. I have, over the years, kept up with the search for the body of Keith Bennett, which has never been recovered, and indeed raised hopes again in December 2022 to no avail.
      I'm not sure that the relatives of victims appreciate these matters being regurgitated. I'm sure that they would more appreciate that these murders had never happened at all, and that they had their loved ones alive. But if say they do appreciate you reporting the facts, I am sure that they would expect them to be accurate in all aspects.

      @@angietunstall2555 didn't he kill Edwards because he took part in one of the murders? they were paranoid he would rat them out. was it his death that got them caught? I forgot the small details.

    • @angietunstall2555
      @angietunstall2555 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Brett Mikey Absolutely not. Brady seemed to have known that Evans was gay and lured him back to Wardlebrook Avenue. Brady telephoned his brother-in-law, David Smith, to come to his house, but he didn't tell Smith why. When Smith walked in, there was a scene of utter carnage. Brady had taken an axe to Evans. I'm not sure if Evans was dying or dead at this point because Brady had also tried to strangle him with electric cord. For fear of his life, Smith helped Brady upstairs to the back bedroom where they deposited Evans body under the window sill. Smith then made an excuse to just pop home and left utterly traumatised.
      It was Smith who rang the police from a phone box, telling them all that he'd seen. It was the end for Brady. He was subsequently arrested. Myra Hindley wasn't suspected of anything at first. But a few days afterwards, she was arrested. Apart from a couple of trips to Saddleworth Moor, in the quest to find bodies, Hindley would not see the light of day again. Brady, considered to be a full-blown psychopath, would spend the rest of his life in Broadmoor.
      Hindley was transferred from Cookham Wood Prison up to Durham, where she met Rose West.

      Even if you're threatened with a weapon, resist and don't comply because most won't want to cause a a scene a be noticed by people so shouting and causing a scene could well mean you escape. • @toscadonna

      It gives the detectives the idea of just how much rage and over kill went into the crime. It helps them flesh out what kind of man they’re looking for. One surgical stab to the heart? Very assassin-like and unemotional-perhaps a contract killing. One hundred stab wounds? A man who loathes women and will have had other issues with women growing up and currently. It helps them find the perp.

      Moors are tracts of open country that may be either dry with heather and associated vegetation or wet with an acid peat vegetation. In the British Isles, “moorland” is often used to describe uncultivated hilly areas. If wet, a moor is generally synonymous with bog.

    That 18 year old was a survivor! Good for her. She did what she had to.
    As to him being able to stand up to interrogation. Just because he was in the West German military (or any military) has ZERO to do with him holding up to interrogation. No clue what he did for the W. German army, but unless it required training to hold up under interrogation, he wouldn't be better than anyone else. Further, a fraction of service people receive such training, and even then, they learn in training that they won't hold out that long.
