They should patch this so that you don't have to switch to hover mode to place the tracks. Clearly the train logic system is built to handle at least a few additional connections - just let us place them normally?
@@archoftreesyou can do left, middle, and right turns, the problem that this is solving is that the game builds switches further into the track than where the game has the track connection, which causes an encroachment problem when putting two switches in opposite directions next to each other. I literally spent hours yesterday in my 1.0 play-through TrYiNg to make a roundabout intersection and NEVER could get the rails to connect up exactly as you show in this video! Never knew about the "H" method!! Going to revisit trying to make roundabouts now. Thanks so much for this!! This is great!!
Over 1300 hours in this game and I had no idea you could do that... I subscribed last night after coming across some of your other videos. Really glad now that I did!
Small roundabouts are really neat and space-efficient. However it's generally a good idea, to keep the segments between any two signals big enough for a full train to prevent collisions. Most roundabouts could be separated in a sequence of T junctions. However, building a stacked roundabout with 1F going counter-clockwise and 2F going clockwise is also really fun.
I have noticed this trick also works for the lookout tower on uneven surfaces. You can put them on belts or on stairs or pretty much anywhere as long as they are not overlapping other buildings
Oh damn, this makes building a lot easier! Thanks for sharing, was going to just give up on designing rail networks if I couldn't do something like this
Just recently started my first train line in 1.0, and this is going to be a time saver! Now i just need to try to replicate that smooth roundabout and we're cooking
Thank you so much for the h tip, didnt realize how broken/useful that feature is. I used it right after watching this video to help keep my turbofuel generator factory from looking even worse than it already does when a giant rock got in the way

@@davidc_ac9377 then your screwed my friend haha you only have three useable directional key when in the train anyway. How do you think it would work if there was more the three connections when manual driving....not well
I’m surprised that worked. Not that you can place the rail, that’s just a glitch, that the game treated the track as connected afterward. I’ve had plenty of problems with rails that looked like intersections but weren’t because the game didn’t register the rails as connected. The normal limit isn’t 3, it’s that track switches can be 1 to N, but not N to N. 1 to 3 or 4 is perfectly legal.
i'm having a hard time understanding what you say, may i suggest you turn down the volume on the music a bit. otherwise i really like what you do and your trainworld tour a couple of weeks ago really inspired me to build prettier and more random instead of just straight lines.
For the Gods sake. I've wasted 4h yesterday redoing my railway due to this issue. I have many station from different areas uniting in same zone and so It was such pain in the neck to make it work, while I could have just used this...
So in a couple of your videos you make a point of mentioning that the closer rail signals are to each other the better, and it improves traffic flow, but you never say why. I’m assuming you mean as close as possible, but at least as long as the length of your longest train. I ask because while I’m not a big rail user in Satisfactory, in other games with rails, like Factorio, the rail block signal won’t clear for a waiting train until the train currently occupying the block has cleared it entirely. Is that not the case in Satisfactory? It looks like some of your blocks are shorter than a decent sized train.
@@egdod3750 the block signal do operate the same as in factorio. But its difficult to tell people an exact size because how long is a peice of string. Its dependant on how much traffic you have on your lines if you have loads lile i do in train wprld on you want to have as many trains singals as you can tollerate and if you have like 3 or 4 trains on you whole netwrk then you only need a few. The questio n is far to broad specturm to give a specific answer. Each rail network need to be individually assesed and treated as such with signals
@@Rxckxt thanks. Makes sense. The reason I haven’t used much rail in Satisfactory is that I haven’t really needed much. If you don’t have a ton of long trains using the same rail heavily then deadlocks probably aren’t that big an issue I guess.
This doesn't really work on dedicated server. You get destination unreachable from at least one switch point. Fixing one junction breaks another and so on. It's a shame as I really do wish it would work properly.
@@simonjcook69 it works perfectly on servers i was on one yesterday. There is a bug right now where sometimes the rail doeant connect even though it looks connected, its happened to me heaps since 1.0 and it is really annoying.
the hack is cool but circles are bad idea They are too slow, so if 2 train needs to ride straight, used to make unneeded turns and rotations, and only one train can cross this junction per a time, but otherwise it can be 2 trains per time
The information you have is incorrect. Assuming your roundabout has three on/off lines like mine and you are using path signals like mine, this circuit will allow for up to 3 trains on the same roundabout at the same time assuming they are all turning left. further more adding multiple roundabouts into your circuit will allow and alleviation point when you add multiple extra lines in that you never originally anticipated adding in. Im also confused as to why your saying the round about system is to slow but then you go on to say that it will allow 2 trains on it at a time(its up to 3) which is that same amount of traffic flow you would have anyway if you had an alternative like an T intersection and your argument about the trains riding straight is invalid because there is no straight on lines on a tri-prong intersection like mine . if you need any help i have a video that explains how path signals work quite well if you need. Im also here if you have any other questions. thank you for the positive feed back about the hack.
