Thank you SO much for putting the part where you built the tracks in the video. (like 7m-11m) I'm not the type to watch live streams and this is the only real-world demonstration I've seen of "how to do the tracks" since blueprints has landed. It's such a major task mentally that I've never been able to even start to put that first mega loop around the map with tracks, but now I've got the courage to do it!
There's a much easier way to do curves. Place one straight catwalk on the outside of your curve on the side. Then ctrl-mousewheel one tick and place 2 in a row. You can snap your foundation straight to those and don't have to deal with stacking slabs over and under.
That is another way to do it yes and i covered that in a Guide.. The only issue is, it creates to much overlap,on the inside curve. This results in the walls and railings to overlap more, which causes the walls to petrude through each other. The reason i show the one i do here, is that it does not allow that and create cleaners smoother, turns with alot less clipping which results in better game stability as the more severe the clipping the more FPS you lose. :)
@@ItsBitz I believe a clipping by itself does not reduce FPS, but more clipping means with the same amount of objects there is less distance covered by the viaduct, hence there'll be more objects used to cover needed distance. However, this would have much less effect then the decorations of the viaduct.

About that inventory size. I'll admit I stopped going back and forth when I discovered it's generally easier to just do the Josh thing and throw train tracks any old where and use the cars on it to store all of my materials. Since I do have some sense of organization I can generally find everything I need while I cart this thing around on my map building new stations. Trouble is, I discovered these tips and tricks well after I already knew about the straight track solutions so my tracks are significantly unrefined. I also wanted to rebuild everything a bit late into the project thus I have buildings that clip into one another especially my old fuel refinery depot. One thing I was doing before you started releasing the roads videos was creating my own amalgamation of fluid and conveyor transit along those unrefined train tracks. The vehicles I intended to simply drive natural pathways for additional resource movement. Now, because of these videos, it gives me a great idea on how to further refine my process so definitely thanks for that. Now I have a lot of work to do to go in the direction I want and I'll probably have to shut down my refineries/depots to begin work on reforming the power side. I'll likely start by setting up massive amounts of batteries using the Josh method. Once all batteries are charged disconnect power and shut down everything to rebuild the facility. After construction is finished, reconnect power to engage oil and fuel production and to kick start the diesel generators. Actually, since there is a viable enough natural pillar near the refineries, I'm considering a battery tower in this location. I'll mull it over. I may just construct a pillar instead and go from there. You know what, I think I will.
While im new to satisfactory, from my experience with train games, you want blocks to be the length of your longest train, or no smaller than half its length.your blocks look great imo
Hey, Bitz, I was having a hard time with curves. Thank you so much for making it easy to understand. My first highway is now well underway thanks to your guidance. Cheers, Mate!
You can just stack one foundation on top of the other and hit control to change it by 1 degree. Don't need the walk way. Then remove the below one and align it to the top one.
Cool Video, but I have one question: Why is your trainstation at the storage called "Hamburger Hauptbahnhof" ? I mean, I am from Germany, so I think its very cool, but why excactly did you choose a real german trainstation?
The Default Train Stations names are locations that are significant to the developers.. "Hannah" the world Dev, her alias is "Hanburger" so that would be that reason. hahhaa.. They are pure random
There's a much quicker way to make curved foundations. You still start with the platform on the rear right hand side, but you just add another platform in front of it (make sure you join it to the other platform or it won't work). Then join another platform onto it but rotate this one with ctrl + mousewheel one notch. Then join a foundation to the left of that platform. This is from a TotalXclipse livestream, so I'm not sure who came up with the idea. It should save you a lot of time though.
Indeed, i covered this on Day 1 of Update 5 Release in a tips and tricks video. There reason i do it this way its more defined and creates a smoother turn. Also does not create any stuck out walls or railings on the inner side of the turns.
Awesome video, thanks! How are you clipping the horizontal pillar through the bottom of the blueprint designer? The vanilla game won't allow me to do this. Are you using a mod?
Thanks, man. I built that blueprint when the blueprint maker first came out. At the time you was able to clip through the bottom layer, but they fixed it.. But my blueprint was still usable, so it's technically one of a kind 😆 🤣
@@ItsBitz Aw, bummer. Well at least the blueprint can still be loaded in the designer. Thanks again for the video and thanks for sharing the blueprints.

How many oil extractor did you use on your fuel generators? I can't figure out how much I need. I am currently using 1 pure, 1 normal, and 2 impure oils.
Why is it when I watch another satisfactory video I realized I messed up my designing of a factory and must start over? Every damn time.... that train line blueprint is so awesome I need something like that I'll see what I can print up lol
making my trainline more efficient exposed a problem I'm having now, my batteries are disappearing. If I stick around the main base they build up fast cause I'm making 40/min but only using around 12/min across 3 drone ports (according to their usage calculator). But as soon as I leave and come back, it's like the stacks of batteries in the ports all disappear and have to be refilled. I've tested it 10 times now, and no other resource seems to have this issue, most everything is manufactured far out near their resource nodes and brought in by train
So, with a little planning (you already do ALOT of that) just make a variation of the 3 piece...piece....for each iteration of belts...which there is really only 3 variations. Both sides same direction(only need to rotate the blueprint to place for opposite direction) and left side south/right side north and left side north/right side south......now you dont have to get under the darn thing and hook that crap up. If you need MORE iterations than that, then you dont have your other belts streamlined very well
