Bought a 2005 base 430 new now at 217,000, love it!! 1,200 miles to flordia every winter near 80 mph and 26 mpg always using reg gas. My next car, if needed as I am 77, will hopefully be a 05 or 06 LS 430 cream puff under 125,000 miles. Drove a Mercedes 300 SD diesel 300,000 miles, this LS may last longer, wonder if I will?
Honestly after seeing most of the Lexus series from early 2000’s/90’s hold up it’s because they had a point to prove to the world, I just hope the next Lexus I get withstands 300k miles with regular maintenance of course.
I bought a 2005 LS in great condition! Be prepared to spend money on maintenance and parts are not cheap for the LS. I spent nearly $5k on timing belt, water pump, a-arms, struts, all new tires, all new fluids. Now she drives like a dream! The UZ3 is an iconic motor FAA rated and aka Million Mile Motor this will be my last car 👍
Also a cool feature for the car is that its has smart key system in it so you dont have to put the key in the ignition as long as you have the key on you you can just turn the ignition without the key also the doors have a soft close feature if it doesn't close all the way it will pull itself in and close for you this car was ahead of its time im glad i have one
On the center console, the hinge gets loose, but if you pull the lid from the back with one hand, and then open the lid with the other, it opens right up.
I been wanting to trade out my 2011 Sonata for one of these now that my 10 year warranty finally ended ... a year and half ago. 😂 Them used car prices were too crazy in 2022 and 2023. I'm in Florida and I hear its the capital of used LS 430s and 460s. I barely put 65k miles on that Sonata but the gas mileage is terrible (16 city, worse than my 24 year old Porsche) and car insurance here is so expensive now I might as well get something better.
Excellent review, thanks! I'm going to see one tomorrow, it's got about the same mileage as this, I hope it's in as good a condition. I'd really like to try out a GS400/430, but those are pretty hard to find these days. I'd like some luxury in my daily driver, so this might work out fine. I'm nervous though, I've never bought a car that had over 100K miles on the clock!
