I think it was at it's most powerful on FF4 during the opening prologue and the final battle, though it too can still be heard in damn near every final fantasy game somewhere.)
A fleeting dream is my favourite track from Final Fantasy X, dear lord the intense emotional weight is so powerful it brings tears to my eye everytime i replay X.

To Zanarkand is first a gorgeous song just by itself but (spoilers maybe...?) when in the game you learn Yuna destiny and Tidus history you are literally crying at the end of the game... I know that VII is great but personally To Zanarkand deserve is place

I thought One Winged Angel was way too low on the list. And I'm disappointed Final Fantasy VIII didn't get any mentions at all. I would definitely fit Liberi Fatali, Don't be Afraid and/or Love Grows in here. Additionally, I would have put Memoro de la Stono from FFXI and Swing de Chocobo somewhere or at least given them an honorable mention.
Squall and Riona's love theme from Final Fantasy 8 literally got into my head. Eyes On Me sparked a great romance between the two characters. Squall's concern for her was probably one of the most iconic moments of the Final Fantasy series.

I like that you included 'To Zanarkand' and 'Seymour Omnis' on the list, but might I add that 'Hymn of the Fayth' is another memorable piece? Not only do you hear it as a collective, but as you visit each of the Temples, you hear each individual Fayth sing it as well, giving the song a more unique feel. From Valefor's version, to the deep tones of Ifrit and Yojimbo, the more off-tone version when you reach Yunalesca, and even heard in The Sending at Kilika, this is a piece that has stuck in my head for years. :)
I couldn't avoid concluding that Watchmojo hates FFVIII. It's considered to have one of the best OSTs in the entire FF series and there's not a mention of even one. To Zanarkand Ruins is just flawless. Not taking away from the brilliant FF7 sound track like "One winged angel" or FF8 for that matter with "Eyes on me" but FFX the whole game has such great music that just you can't just cast aside. From the "Zanarkand ruins" to "Auron's Theme", and to "Fleeting Dream" and to my personal favorite "Wandering Flame" it just is the best soundtrack to any Final Fantasy thus far. IMO
My top 5: 5. Aerith' theme 4. To Zanarkand 3. Real emotion (bias on my part but my first game on PS2 was FF-X2 and the opening had me like wow the graphic look so real said the 13 year olds me) 2. One winged angel (to this day, this song still play in my head every time I fought with a big boss of the game....wild hunt from witcher 3, hakon from skyrim, hell even when i play a one of those intense match with my brother on smash melee.) 1. Price of freedom (Zack is my favorite final fantasy character EVER.....)

I like that you included 'To Zanarkand' and 'Seymour Omnis' on the list, but might I add that 'Hymn of the Fayth' is another memorable piece? Not only do you hear it as a collective, but as you visit each of the Temples, you hear each individual Fayth sing it as well, giving the song a more unique feel. From Valefor's version, to the deep tones of Ifrit and Yojimbo, the more off-tone version when you reach Yunalesca, and even heard in The Sending at Kilika, this is a piece that has stuck in my head for years. :)

I couldn't avoid concluding that Watchmojo hates FFVIII. It's considered to have one of the best OSTs in the entire FF series and there's not a mention of even one. I could easily see two or three items in this list that rightfully should be replaced by FFVIII tracks like Liberi Fatali, The Landing and Eyes On me. But nooooo.

You guys must be thinking of the Prelude to Final Fantasy. The Main Theme and the Prelude are different themes that often get mixed up. I suggest you look it up.

I think my favorite is Eternity: Memory of Lightwaves from X-2.

To Zanarkand Ruins is just flawless. Not taking away from the brilliant FF7 sound track like "One winged angel" or FF8 for that matter with "Eyes on me" but FFX the whole game has such great music that just you can't just cast aside. From the "Zanarkand ruins" to "Auron's Theme", and to "Fleeting Dream" and to my personal favorite "Wandering Flame" it just is the best soundtrack to any Final Fantasy thus far. IMO
Good selection. FFX theme relates to the saddest moment of the whole FF series. As such, it deserved the first place.
As far as battle themes go, I think my favorite might be The Man With The Machine Gun (Laguna's theme). One of my favorite tunes across all of FF.
