Final Fantasy X is one of the prettiest games I have ever played, right from the tear-jerking story and music all the way to the setting. Having played the game at the time being the same age as Tidus, I can attest to him being one of the most relatable video game characters out there - him and the rest of the characters are SO real. In all the time I live I will never forget this beautiful game.
First playthrough on ps2 I was stuck there for a solid 2 months. There wasn't a way to Google shit at the time and there weren't reddit pages or even walk through like there are now. I had to figure it out on my own
Symour on Mt Gagazet was the reason I started a new savegame after 300 hours. I had completely messed up the sphereboard. (?English term?) I remember finally beating him and feeling a sense of accomplishment unlike almost anything before. To this day the first few notes of some of the tracks are enough to make me tear up. My top tracks would have probably included daughter of the high summoner, hopeless desire (though it's greensleeves), and both Lulu's and Auron's theme. To Zanarkand actually got me back to playing the piano.
There’s something magical about that slight hesitance on the ending note in the intro of “to zanarkand” that feels like the mixture of excitement and fear the group has before they go on their journey
IMO top ten: 1: To Zanarkand 2: A Fleeting Dream 3: Otherworld 4: Suteki da ne 5: Challenge 6: Battle Theme 7: Boss Battle Theme 8: Sprouting 9:Servants of the Mountain 10: Wandering Flame
Zanarkand, The Truth Revealed, Wandering Flame, and A Fleeting Dream are some of my top musical pieces that I could listen to for hours and never lose the wonder of those songs.
I was 16 when this first came out, blew me away like the three FF games I played before it. 20 years on and I'm 36 and the soundtrack has only gotten better with age. IMO the best FF soundtrack out there, and that's saying something...
I'm 34, but didn't get to play this until I was 20 when my husband showed me this game the first year we were dating. Recently we showed it to our 6 year old and 3 year old daughters. They LOVED it! Obviously they didn't get half of the deeper stuff yet, but its okay. They bug us now to play final fantasy music so that's how I came to this video 😂
I love this Final Fantasy game. It has a powerful storyline that really breaks one's heart at the end. The music is awesome and the graphics are sublime. I just can not get enough of the characters in the game. This game is so 3 deminsional! Nice touch of the Otherworld song in the mix. Let's rock out while beating Sin!
A Fleeting Dream has got to be my favorite Final Fantasy song of all time. The song is just so calming, especially the beginning. I remember when I was younger I played this on the playstation and it was amazing. I will forever heart this game and it will forever be my number #1 game. Even if I play the other Final Fantasy games, this will still probably be my favorite out of them all.
I had hoped for Via Purifico to be a little higher on the list, but that's just me. As long as Zanarkand is at #1, everyone's in agreement :) Thanks for compiling!
i had an ancor in my life with this song ffix and ffx is great in music style.and i like it best first time i finished it i was a teenager about 19 years old.my hapiest moment in hole game was in the lakes waters. i find it diffucult to succed the pasion of the latest ffx. i have my hopes and dreams in sqear
Does... anyone else recognize the similarities between and the Battle Theme for Professor Sada/Turo in Pokemon Scarlet/Violet? Cause I swear yall. It's there!
Agreed. Besaid and To zanarkard but regardless, greatest entertainment product of all time through abd through, in every aspect. This was the golden year of media as we know it.
When you put Seymour battle at nr. 2 I was wondering alot for the duration, about what could possibly be at nr. 1 since Seymour battle is such a legendary track. I was not dissapointed about To zanarkand being nr. 1. It's a beatiful and sad composition. I do wonder however why "People of the north pole" isn't even mentioned... :'(
Your comment actually invoked some sadness in me; People of the North Pole was so close to making the honorable mentions (I know that sounds like a backhanded compliment, but FFX's soundtrack is just that good). I really do feel an affection for the track; and that solemn tribal beat perfectly fits Kimahri as well. It's just a bit repetitive / straightforward to make my top picks, but I do distinctly recall considering it strongly and iirc it was literally the last track to miss the mentions. What would your top 5 be?
@@CrystallineWyvern Ahh okay, yeah it is a bit repetitive, as is several other tracks on this list. They remain very good tracks all the same. And I agree, ff x has ridiculously good OST. It is definetely one of my all time favourite OST along with Legend of Dragoon, UT 1999, and a couple other FF installments. It is a very tough one to rank top 5 because I could see so many of them being up there. So I guess it boils down to a top 10 anyway: - Battle with Seymour: This is my favourite in the game. It's competing for the best track from a game ever. Heck it's even competing for my top 10 songs in the world, which is tough competition. The others in no particular order: - To zanarkand - People of the north pole - Lulu's theme: This theme playing alongside the storyline completely changed Lulu for me. I disliked Lulu up untill around this point, but after :'( - Auron's theme - Challenge - Path of repentance - Other world - The splendid performance I think last spot could belong to any of these two: Enemy attack or Ending theme (except the last minute)
@@bosspoke Touche, haha. I guess Via Purifico (which is the same track as Path of Repentence which you listed as being in your top 10 if I'm not mistaken), Sight of Spira and Hymn of the Fayth are also somewhat repetitive in their own way for example. That's a damn respectable list. I love Lulu and her theme as well; what part of the storyline shifted your perspective? (Or was it just the song alone primarily?). I think I can feel where you're coming from re: Seymour's theme; no other theme from the game gets me so pumped up; definitely check out my analyses in the pinned comment for my thoughts on it and the rest if you're interested; I'd be curious to hear your thoughts. Although Seymour's theme wouldn't quite make the list I've had a Top 5 most epic RPG Final Boss Themes video in the works for years now, which would include Dancing Mad from FFVI, God-Slaying Sword from Xenoblade Chronicles, Battle for Everyone's Souls from Persona 3, and a remix of Lance / Red from Pokemon plus some 5th place track. What other epic boss themes compete with Seymour's for you?
I believe The Sight of Spira is another arrangement of her theme. I love Yuna; she and Auron are my favorite members of the cast. What about you? And what are your top 3 tracks?
@@CrystallineWyvern i love yuna too she makes the story what it is i like auron aswell as tidus. when i found out that yuna was going to die i was sad. and when i found out tidus was a dream it made me feel (the player) like i didnt matter. my top 3 tracks are the battle theme yunas theme and to zanarkand theme ofcourse.

I can understand the surprise / complaint, but Sight of Spira here does at least contain the same melody. Tbh I like Sprouting (was close to making #10) even more than Suteki Da Ne as well, which also has its theme. None of this is to say Suteki is anything less than beautiful, and Yuna is probably my favorite character from FFX and one of my favorite female characters in general. What would your top 3 themes be?

Wandering Flame gives me goosebumps. What an amazing soundtrack!
