Zack's last stand? Zidane returning to Garnet? Squall carrying Rinoa on the railway line to Esthar and his inner monologue? Tidus and Jecht's conversation?
I would genuinely argue that the emotional weight of knowing the entire future for the FF7 franchise and watching as Zack set it all in motion as everything he cares for slowly slips away from him is truly one of the most impactful moments for me.

Yes that scene should have been top 3. I've never delete the save game before that scene when i play it on PS2. And I always repeat the final battle just to watch the ending, the day before internet is a thing.. oh well
Radho Martdika Lol I did the same thing, I couldn't override the save right before that scene. Yup the good old day before the internent was a big thing as it is now, when people actually played video games for fun and the storyline instead of being stuck on the computer all day or play only to post videos and become famous.
jtcii88 Maybe they'll save it for when the VII remake arrives but most likely only the part when Zack and Cloud escape from Shinra and Zack dies while its up to Cloud to make the journey to Midgar all as the Prologue for the game.
Final Fantasy IX have a lot of great moments: - The intro where the title was shown - The falling Black Mages and Vivi's trance (Which IMO, was sadder than Aerith's death) - The airship chase leading to Lindblum castle - Odin destroying Cleyra - Bahamut's summon - Atomos summon - Bahamut vs Alexander - Zidane breaking down (with the "You're not alone theme" playing) - And of course, the ending with Zidane and Garnet I can still go on with the list but those are the most remarkable moments in FFIX
FF9 is my favorite game of all time, and considering that I'm continually more disenchanted by new games as time goes by I expect that to never change. It's just so good on all levels! Truly Sakiguchi's magnum opus!

I understand how it is, although the FF series kind of do this sort of thing (killing characters), it was unexpected to happen at the end of the game, with the main character and that way. And you can easilly make a top 10 moments for each one of the games.
The intro cut scene in FF8 will always be my favorite. Squall and Seifer trading battle scars was one of the most memorable moments in final fantasy history to me.
what got me closer to crying was the boss battle that followed. Knew Aerith would die it's a big common spoiler, but you had to go and add her theme in the immediate boss, that was rude.
+Telly Vin-a I know right, it was so annoying. And the piss poor layout/format of the menus made me confused and agitated as a child. I didn't know what I could/should sell and what I shouldn't. I mean, what if Aerith came back? What if there's another secret character like Yuffie who uses Staves later on? +Adam Braunstein Oh my god ! The battle of the gardens ! This battle is just amazing ! Revcharge it was pretty cool and it was the first gsme to use such advance moments for characters to dance it hasn't been done before. Supposedly they used AI suits for that
+Dk Soulstice That's because the end of Crisis Core was already in 7 and the game didn't add that much to the overall story except some background of Zack and Sephiroth and the past of Cloud.
Mrudula C. Not X-2. XIII-2's ending. It was a great ending to a great game, imo. And yes, FF X probably had the strongest, most heartfelt ending in the series.
I really missed RED XIII scene when he discovers the truth about his father, all his life he thought his father was a coward then he discovers he was the only one that stayed until the very end fighting even when he was getting petrified, can't believe that isn't top 10, I actually think it is top5 material.
the death of Aerith (Aeris in my book tbh) will forever bring me to tears. I was only 10 when I first played it and she was the first FF character I grew an emotional attachment to. I fear the loss of anybody in my life comparable to how I felt when I lost her to Sephiroth. Yes, I'm aware she's fictional, but she's ultimately my first true love.
+MyNamesCody They really are. When people say final fantasy they automatically think of FF7, FFX or FF13. But 8 was very good and that was pretty much the first one I played. FF9 was really good. I used to watch my older brother play all the time and I loved the adventure aspect of it and the places you visit. I really didn't care that much for the characters, but it was still a very damn good game.
Yea I agree. But that is because they came after 7 which revolutionized RPGs in the west. Imo 7-10-2 were good. I don't count 11 and 14 since they are mmorpg. But 12 was meh and 13 was just bad. It looked nicer than previous FF but the story was confusing and the characters had no personality. What makes it worse is Square thought it deserved a trilogy. But that's why they hit the emergency button remake for FF7.
W O'Neal III well they remaking 7 because the producers said they weren't going to remake 7 until another final Fantasy outsold 7. FFX outsold 7 when they made those HD remakes. 7 was great. Out of all the ff games, 7 had the best characters overall. I actually liked part 2 of 13 trilogy. I'm probably the only person on the planet that did lol. But that story was ridiculously confusing. Then again most ffs are lol.
So many moments that just cant fit in one top 10. FF9 ending, thought to be dead, zidane reveals himself to garnet infront of the crowd FF10 ending, tidus fading away from yuna Sephiroth burns nibelheim Nanaki finds his father in stone, finding out instead of a fleeing coward, he was the hero that saved his tribe. Palom and Porom sacrifice themselves, turning to stone to save the group from trapwalls Just to name a few
+The810kid What about visiting Doma castle in the world of ruin? Also if you combined all of Shadow's dreams together. Of course fucking Aerith's death get's top spot. Fucking Final Fantasy 7 fan boys. That one isn't even that good.
FF9: Garnet and Eiko summoning Alexander FF7: Seto and Nanaki moment. FF4: Cecil vs Kain FF13: Attack on Cocoon.. That scene was bad ass. FF13-2: Serah's death... The raising of the 13th Ark. FF13 Lightning Returns: Lightning takes down Bhunivelze. All of these are perfect to me. May not be to you, but I don't share the same opinions you do.
The Definite List 1. Good/ perfect ending (Final Fantasy X-2) 2. Aerith's farewell (Final Fantasy VII) 3. Spring scene (Final Fantasy X) 4. Zidane returns, epic finale (Final Fantasy IX) 5. Zack's honorable moment (Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core) 6. Ballroom dance (Final Fantasy VIII) 7. Tidus' momentary departure (Final Fantasy X) 8. Sephiroth sets Nibelheim on fire (Final Fantasy VII) 9. The whole ending sequence (Final Fantasy VIII) 10. Zidane's "You're Not Alone" segment (Final Fantasy IX)
When the twins sacrifice themselves in ff4, the opening to ff13 with lightning on the train, yunas sending dance after sin attakcks ffx, the ending of ffx, ff8 ballroom dance, Alexandria scene ff9, the opening cinematic to ffx, sepiroths attack ff7. So many iconic scenes not even mentioned! Need another redo of this one :p
It's only 10 spots...any of the "great" Final Fantasies could have at least a handful of moments from that one game alone make the list, so they had to limit it. I appreciate that they tried to be fairly diverse. Using 8 as the example, I love all the moments you mentioned, but if I picture the game in my head without thinking too deeply, that Parade sequence pops into my head way before the others do
Honestly, Zack's death doesn't get enough credit. You know his death is coming, yet you're still forced to play it till the end - sacrificing himself and fighting the SOLDIERS to protect Cloud, who would later be the protagonist of the main game. And he didn't even get to see Aerith for the last time, when he was so close to Midgar.
Thank you so much for being so broad with the moments you picked!! This was a really well-rounded list! Since you asked for suggestions, I think one great moment to mention would be the You're Not Alone sequence from Final Fantasy IX.
I'll let the 7 fans push for every cut scene in the game but not the wedding ambush scene from 10 or Sin attacking Zanarkand? How about the 1000 words concert in X-2? Or the Dollet Escape from 8? (Watch out Quistis is packing heat!)
+Rahsaan Footman The Sin attack on Zanarkand was nothing special. At that point we knew noone in that city closely enough to care in any way except just generally. It was explosions and noise without meaning. Unlike when Sephiroth destroyed Nibelheim or when Palom and Porom turned to stone, there was nothing to care about.
+Rahsaan Footman I think X-2 is a little too disliked for people to care about that scene. The scene itself was great though, I agree. My top favorite from X is the sending scene though. I was really sad that it wasn't in the list, haha.
At the end of FF 7 the meteore hit the planet,so it will be illogic if everyone in Gaïa survived a meteore as giant as the moon in Majora s'Mask so that means that they have the same Kill Count the only difference that Kefka Looks as a combination of Dio Brando and Joker
I knew aerith's death was coming when playing ff7 but still cried cause of how sad it was! It's a very powerful and unexpected move that always brings the feels
+Shawn Shuman He ended the world as everyone knew it in a sense. After that event it would have eventually been completely destroyed anyway. If it didn't blow up or something then Kefka definitely fucked up the poles and probably altered the axis enough to eventually lead to cataclysmic events like the gravitational pull being significantly stronger, dragging the moon down until it collided with the planet. Sorry for the text wall, I started using my head meat.
+Shawn Shuman Yeah I always wondered why they say it this way. He ended the world as they knew it, but everyone was still alive. Meteor was going to annihilate the planet and everyone on it. ExDeath and Cloud of Darkness were going to return the planet to oblivion. Sin was going to wipe out humanity (and other races?). Ultimecia was going to royally fuck time and space of their reality. Kefka did achieve ultimate power though, that much is true.
The conversation between Tidus and Jecht really spoke to me. I expected some cliched reconciliation but Tidus just says all emotional, “I hate you,” and Jecht kinda chuckles and replies, “I know, I know.” Makes me wonder if he could ever forgive Jecht for becoming Sin...
I was hoping that FF IX ending was at least in the honorable mentions."I beseech thee, wondrous moonlight, grant me my only wish! Bring my beloved Dagger to me!" am I the only one who got goosebumps when Zidane said this?
you said exactly what I was about to say! that cg scene was my favorite part of ffix. i've always liked the alexander summons but he's never really been done well. even though we don't get him as a playable character, this was the best version across all ff games
Final Fantasy IX was the first FF game I have ever played, and my most favorite one. Loved the story and loved the characters! So unappreciated it makes me angry :(
I'm with you man. Aerith's death was ok. Zack's was legendary. Not to mention overkill. The soldiers incapacitated him and what did they do? Leave him there to possibly bleed out? No put a dozen more rounds in him. Not to mention the last line from Zack in the game for me was heartbreaking. "Hey, would you say I became a Hero?"
haven't watched yet, but guessing number 1 is tidus and Yuna in firefly pond, or tidus dying. At least those were the top moments in final Fantasy touched me the most
I'm probably the only one here who thinks this, but the moment Zidane learns that he's a genome made to kill the people of the world he's grown up in and his following struggle where he shuns all of his friends away was the most memorable scene in Final Fantasy if not in gaming for me. I don't know why, maybe it's the beautiful "Not Alone" music that plays, but this scene resonated with me like no other. Feeling like you've lived a lie and worried what you might do to the ones you care about and pushing them away out of self doubt is a powerful theme to me, and again my personal favorite.
I would have put in Zidane's psychological break-down on Luna very high on this list. Jim Sterling said it best that FF9 mastered tragedy. Zidane is so happy-go-lucky that when he snaps and has an EPIC freakout, it resonates with the player along with the amazing "You're Not Alone".
+wdcain1 I agree FF9 mastered tragedy, it's the only one in my mind that comes close to all the things involved in Final Fantasy VI. When Cyan had to see his family off during the Ghost Train scene, and then deal with all his loss and grief in the dream sequence in Doma Castle. Also when Locke spent all that time in his life to try to fix his mistake when Rachel had fallen to what he had originally assumed her death. Then finding the Phoenix Magicite to revive her for the bit he did to basically get his good bye with her. I absolutely loved everything about FF9 though, the funny thing is while VI has my top spot for best in the series, IX is in like a three-way tie with X and IV.
Lockecole38 I've had those same thoughts. I actually like 10 and even though it has a few faults, I feel it does many more things right than wrong. 2 is another great one. You end up losing three of your allies during your quest to stop the Emperor, a man whose evil is so great that no only does he come back as a zombie, ghost, and the Lord of Hell, but in the GBA port, he also takes over friggin Heaven! 2 is highly underrated and more people need to play it. I've heard the same thing about 5 but I've only played it on the "FF Anthology" set with lame script instead of the quirkier GBA port. Have you ever tried it?
+wdcain1 I love 10 so much, and easily one of the biggest things people don't know/don't realize about when they complain about how Tidus is annoying, he's fucking 16 years old. Most 16 year olds did pretty dumb shit like that, and his daddy issues actually make sense because I could easily see a 16 year old behaving like that in that situation if their father had left the family. I loved 2, but I never beat it. I'd start it and just kinda lose track of what I was doing. The story was good but the path it laid out for you wasn't always that obvious, plus the way you gained stats and increased your weapon proficiency wasn't the best, I remember spending hours having my characters with dual shields attacking to raise up my weapon stats. I LOVED 5 though, so much. I played it in the Anthology originally and have played the GBA port as well. It took the job system of 3 and made an amazing game out of it.
Lockecole38 Tidus was never the problem for me. I totally understood his character and his role in the game, though I also understand why he has so many detractors since with just a rework, he could be written out of the game and have Yuna be the main character. My biggest gripe with 10 is Seymour. While he does have a tragic backstory (his parents formed a loveless marriage for "the greater good" without realizing the discrimination he would face growing up and he had to sacrifice his mother to get a Summoning for "the greater good" only to learn later that all of his pain was for nothing. There was noway any of it could help attribute to a better future. OF COURSE THE GUY SNAPS!! That's a good and tragic origin for a villain but my problem is that his plan makes no sense. Killing all life on Spira wouldn't end suffering since everyone would just come back as a ghost and they still feel pain. I just wish there was a scene where the heroes straight-up told him he was out of his mind like the Returners did in 6 to Kefka.
+wdcain1 Yeah, I wasn't the biggest fan of Seymour. But you have to remember that most of the people on that world, when killed would turn into mindless monsters. That's what you were fighting in the game, humans and maybe possibly creatures who had died and were not sent. Only really the strong willed ones like Auron and to some effect (though he did become a monster( Seymour could walk around being dead without taking a full mindless monstrous form. So if everyone died and became a mindless monster then really they wouldn't be suffering because as a mindless monster you may be suffering, but the human would not know that.
as an avid fan of the franchise I'd like to give my top 10. 1. Aeris Death (FF7) 2. Yuna & Tidus kiss (FF10) 3. Opera house scene (FF6) 4. Battle on big bridge (FF5) 5. Rinoa lost in space (FF8) 6. Cecil Paladin (FF4) 7. Sephiroth vs. Genesis & Angeal (FF7 Crisis Core) 8. Snow Surrenders (FF13) 9. Locke & Rachel scene (FF6) 10. Blitzball opening scene (FF10 Obviously there is a lot more. Just my opinion
In my opinion it would be FFX opening scene, Yuna's dance on the water, the wedding, Tidus and Yuna's kiss, the end. The concerts in FFX2. That's approximately all. :P
WARNING: SPOILERS. I think this is one of those lists that should probably get 'another top 10.' Tidus's laugh, rescuing Yuna from Seymour, the bridge scene in FF1, every Kefka line ever muttered, Spoony Bard, Gau's Mister Thou rant, Celes nearly killing herself, discovery of Cloud v. Zack, Sephiroth in the Shinra Mansion, Cid: "Sit your ass down and drink your god damn tea!", Gaffgarion executioner ambush, FFIX escape from the forest.... There's way too many amazing scenes in this series.
+James Lewis Well, to be fair, every FF list needs to get extended to at least Top 25 scale. It's always seem short and left a lot to be desired. Can't blame Mojo, they're tackling the lore of one of the biggest franchise in the industry.
As an honorable mention, I'd have brought up speaking to the last boss of the first Final Fantasy. Three lines of text made that game actually quite memorable to me. It's impressive when they can do so much with so little. Doesn't top any in the list, hence the honorable mention status.
6:52 It's *Tee-dus* NOT *Tye-dus*. I'm so tired of everyone pronouncing it wrong. I mean, when you hear the character's voice actor (James Arnold Taylor, voice of Obi-Wan from Clone Wars and Johnny Test) pronounce it as *Tee-dus*, the evidence becomes quite irrefutable. Tidus' name comes from the Japanese word for "sun" which is pronounced *Tee-doo* or *Tee-yo*, depending on origin. This also explains why the Sun Crest and Sun Sigil power his ultimate weapon.
+xXTheRainKingXx Number title wise: FF4, FF6, FF7 and FF9 were good. FF10 and FF13 were decent. The rest were either lackluster, mediocre or just bad (Not counting ARR due to it being a remake of the original).
+xXTheRainKingXx I strongly disagree. FF XII was really good, FF XIII was convoluted but its sequel, especially Lightening returns, were quite great and clever.
I'm happy that FF IX was here. That game does not get the love that it deserves. But there are so many better parts then just the opening of the game, or was that as far as you got in it? Also why did FF VII get two spots on the list... what did you run out of final fantasies to look at?
Easily could be said about FFX too; The opening in Zanarkand Tidus learning Jecht is Sin Operation M’i’hen Tidus finding out that a summoner dies when they defeat Sin The ambush on the wedding The party rebelling against Yunalesca and the concept of the Final Aeon Fighting Sin aboard the airship Tidus and Jecht after the boss fight against Braskas Final Aeon Yuna sending Auron The entire ending scene with Tidus and Yuna
Other honorable mentions: Omnislash against Sephiroth, Sephiroth in the fire of Nibelheim, The ballroom scene from FFVIII, the intro fight with Seifer, Rydia's fear of using the Fire spell, her return to fight Golbez in FFIV, and Zack's death in FFVII and Crisis Core.
FFX's ending is the biggest emotional impact a game has ever had on me. It's been many years and that still hasn't changed.
rebelsway true man
Ffix ending>>>ffx ending
I cry everytime
It’s topp ending
rebelsway for real!!!! Amen to that i just rewatched that part and i still remember how impactful it was and it hasnt changed
Zack's last stand?
Zidane returning to Garnet?
Squall carrying Rinoa on the railway line to Esthar and his inner monologue?
Tidus and Jecht's conversation?
Too many amazing scenes!
Sephiroth burning down Nibelheim.
Dude,this is final fantasy
zack's last stand was the best
Azim Imran yeah zack's last stand was the best scene I ever saw in any final fantasy game
for me, the ending scene of X is my #1. it was the most emotional moment of any game i've played thus far.
It's one of the very few games that made me cry
It’s beautifully cruel that Yuna falls through Tidus when she tries to hug him
Perry D yes! I cry every time! 😭
I agree dude.... I agree
Well.. we all know they only created this list to get the FF gamers' attention. Some of the top choices wasn't even that impactful.
Zack's last stand should've been here
Cerulean they're his favorite moments
I would genuinely argue that the emotional weight of knowing the entire future for the FF7 franchise and watching as Zack set it all in motion as everything he cares for slowly slips away from him is truly one of the most impactful moments for me.
@lar ljd Same :(
Who doesn't agree that zack's death should be on this list
Please don't answere that question
Don’t, you’ll get me crying again 😭 I only ever played it once because of that 🤧💔

Tidus and Yuna shouldve been in the top 3. It's iconic, emotional and one of the best games EVER.
I had to skip that because I'm currently playing FFX for the first time.
Exactly!!!
Yes that scene should have been top 3. I've never delete the save game before that scene when i play it on PS2. And I always repeat the final battle just to watch the ending, the day before internet is a thing.. oh well

that scene should've been first
They should've added Zack's death in this, or Sephiroth's rampage on Nibleheim.
+Blackflare71 I started to cry at Zack's death in Crisis Core.
or my awesomeness.
I dislike this video specifically because crisis core wasn't even mentioned
+Blackflare71 We need an HD Remake/Port/Remaster or whatever of Crisis Core... I mean it's not even available on the PSN or for Vita WTF?!
jtcii88 Maybe they'll save it for when the VII remake arrives but most likely only the part when Zack and Cloud escape from Shinra and Zack dies while its up to Cloud to make the journey to Midgar all as the Prologue for the game.
Final Fantasy IX have a lot of great moments:

- Atomos summon
- Bahamut vs Alexander
- Zidane breaking down (with the "You're not alone theme" playing)
- And of course, the ending with Zidane and Garnet
I can still go on with the list but those are the most remarkable moments in FFIX
I personally love the "Assault of the Silver Dragons". It's my favourite pf FF9
FF9 is my favorite game of all time, and considering that I'm continually more disenchanted by new games as time goes by I expect that to never change.
It's just so good on all levels! Truly Sakiguchi's magnum opus!

Zack :My honour, my dreams...... they your's now....
Cloud : I'm your living legacy.
Should be number 1
Yeah
The scene after defeating Sin on FFX. When Tidus "says goodbye". It was for her to die at the end and is he who actually disappear.
FFX had the ending I cried the most
I understand how it is, although the FF series kind of do this sort of thing (killing characters), it was unexpected to happen at the end of the game, with the main character and that way. And you can easilly make a top 10 moments for each one of the games.
Vinicius Gogola at the same time you know Tidus will disappear at the end of the game but it still gets you
The intro cut scene in FF8 will always be my favorite. Squall and Seifer trading battle scars was one of the most memorable moments in final fantasy history to me.
Fans are not crying because Aerith died. They're crying they put so much grinding into the healer and they don't have a back-up.
Ughh so true I didn't give two shits about her she was a terrible live interest, such a waste
+phantompacker99 very true I was pissed when she died because i just grinded her up. Then the game takes my healer away
+phantompacker99 100% agree. She had some very useful limit breaks. If I had known I wouldn't have put so many hours leveling her up.
what got me closer to crying was the boss battle that followed.
Nope. Worthless. All of the staves. Every single one. Guess I had to just eat shit then. Fuck you Aerith and your plans. -_-
Yuna’s sending on Kilika is also breathtaking. Few scenes on any media can capture such beauty and sadness at the same time.
*Yuna:* "I love you..."
*(music cues up as Tidus hugs Yuna for the last time)*
*T_T*
Final Fantasy X should ve been the sending. It s the most magical moment in all Final Fantasy
Bô Mập Channel idk how you could put it here but Operation M’i’hen could be here too
The Honorable Mentions section was criminally short, especially given how good many of these games are. I hate being that girl who complains in the comment section, but where on earth was Vivi's confrontation with Black Waltz 3??! One of the saddest, emotionally charged moments in the entire series.
Vivi is top 3 favorite final fantasy character ever. Period. With 1 being squall. And 2 being Sephiroth
I know right?! I cried at that moment
FFVIII ballroom scene. i don't care what you people say.
Breath taking, like this was on PS1 in the mid 90s and was pretty relatable
+Revcharge That and the battle of the gardens.
+Adam Braunstein
Oh my god ! The battle of the gardens ! This battle is just amazing ! You have been walking in this school since the beginning of the game, it is like your home, you train you talk and you play card game, and now you have to figth for it ! As far as i can remenber this is the only time in a FF when you need to figth for your home and all the people who live here (the students)
FFVIII Ending is my favorite
Revcharge it was pretty cool and it was the first gsme to use such advance moments for characters to dance it hasn't been done before. Supposedly they used AI suits for that
Zack Fair last battle!
poor zack, never mentioned
Yeah, why not that? or even the Ragnarok scene in Final Fantasy VIII
Right
The saddest Activating Combat Mode you're gonna hear.
Where is Zack’s scene? That scene when he stood in front of hundred soldiers to protect Cloud
That was not 1000 soldiers?
I swear Crisis Core never gets any love when WatchMojo makes a Final Fantasy video.
Most underrated game in the series by far.
Agreed, Zack's last stand doesn't even get a mention. What The Hell?
+Dk Soulstice Didn't Crisis core top their top ten saddest video games?
+Dk Soulstice That game and FF type-0 doesnt get enough love really :L
+Harmonious Hyena no
+Dk Soulstice That's because the end of Crisis Core was already in 7 and the game didn't add that much to the overall story except some background of Zack and Sephiroth and the past of Cloud.
The endings to FF X and FF XIII-2 are also very memorable to me.
+༼ つ◕ω◕ ༽つ Wise Sage Doge X-2's ending wasn't anything special, but I think 99% of the fanbase can agree that X's was great.
Mrudula C. Not X-2. XIII-2's ending. It was a great ending to a great game, imo.
And yes, FF X probably had the strongest, most heartfelt ending in the series.
+༼ つ◕ω◕ ༽つ Wise Doge XIII's ending ruined any credibility that any sequel to it might have.
Lightningdude huh?
Do you have reading impairments
I really missed RED XIII scene when he discovers the truth about his father, all his life he thought his father was a coward then he discovers he was the only one that stayed until the very end fighting even when he was getting petrified, can't believe that isn't top 10, I actually think it is top5 material.
That's one of, if not the most emotional scene of FF7 for me. Sometimes just the thought of it makes me tear up!
the death of Aerith (Aeris in my book tbh) will forever bring me to tears. I was only 10 when I first played it and she was the first FF character I grew an emotional attachment to. I fear the loss of anybody in my life comparable to how I felt when I lost her to Sephiroth. Yes, I'm aware she's fictional, but she's ultimately my first true love.
final fantasy 8 & 9 are so underrated
+MyNamesCody 8 is my all time favorite
+MyNamesCody Totally agree. Those two games don't get enough love. FF9 is my favorite besides 7, 12, 10-2, 4, and Tactics.
1000 words deserves a mention. A song so good, it still gives emotions and made the thunderlands sunny.
So many moments that just cant fit in one top 10.
FF9 ending, thought to be dead, zidane reveals himself to garnet infront of the crowd
FF10 ending, tidus fading away from yuna
Sephiroth burns nibelheim
Nanaki finds his father in stone, finding out instead of a fleeing coward, he was the hero that saved his tribe.
Palom and Porom sacrifice themselves, turning to stone to save the group from trapwalls
Just to name a few
No Rinoa in space? I loved that scene.
Celes attempting to kill herself and the falcon rising up starting your search for friends needs mention as well.
+The810kid Definitely the suicide attempt. Celes weeping and trying to kill herself > Celes dressing up and singing.
Daniel Babineau both are great moments and develops Celes who was my favorite character from VI
+The810kid What about visiting Doma castle in the world of ruin? Also if you combined all of Shadow's dreams together. Of course fucking Aerith's death get's top spot. Fucking Final Fantasy 7 fan boys. That one isn't even that good.
Lockecole38 I'm a final Fantasy VII fanboy
+The810kid I'm sorry.
FF9: Garnet and Eiko summoning Alexander
FF7: Seto and Nanaki moment.
FF4: Cecil vs Kain
FF13: Attack on Cocoon.. That scene was bad ass.
FF13-2: Serah's death... The raising of the 13th Ark.
FF13 Lightning Returns: Lightning takes down Bhunivelze.
All of these are perfect to me. May not be to you, but I don't share the same opinions you do.
Wow, actually someone who knows the meaning of an "opinion". Rarely seen here and anywhere else in the internet.
Ending FF13-2 was great. You can't wait to see the next series on how it ends. Caius was badass though
The Definite List
1. Good/ perfect ending (Final Fantasy X-2)
2. Aerith's farewell (Final Fantasy VII)
3. Spring scene (Final Fantasy X)
4. Zidane returns, epic finale (Final Fantasy IX)
5. Zack's honorable moment (Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core)
6. Ballroom dance (Final Fantasy VIII)
7. Tidus' momentary departure (Final Fantasy X)
8. Sephiroth sets Nibelheim on fire (Final Fantasy VII)
9. The whole ending sequence (Final Fantasy VIII)
10. Zidane's "You're Not Alone" segment (Final Fantasy IX)
agree with top 10 :D
Have you ever played final Fantasy 6?
@@TopRivers youngster have no respect ! :)
Squall going to fucking SPACE to save Rinoa? The Ragnarok's first flight? Anima's first appearance? Yuna's First Sending? Come on...
Agreed
Dont forget zack's death
Cecil and Kain blowing up Ridia's hometown
Terra Branwen Alright.. that was both sad and memorable especially in the remake version
They should have much more on this list :/
It's only 10 spots...any of the "great" Final Fantasies could have at least a handful of moments from that one game alone make the list, so they had to limit it. I appreciate that they tried to be fairly diverse. Using 8 as the example, I love all the moments you mentioned, but if I picture the game in my head without thinking too deeply, that Parade sequence pops into my head way before the others do
dude, you forgot zack's death.
that's literally one of the saddest ending ever. i cried like a lot when i finished it. :"O
No honourable mention for the Nibelheim incident? What about the Tidus laugh?
+Brandon Roberts That was the point of that scene...
+Brandon Roberts It was supposed to be stupid. :3
Brandon Roberts You didn't get it was forced? If Tidus does like to laugh like that, then Auron would've shoved his sword up his ass long ago.
+Stephen Mc Devitt HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
JohnSmith He would pass out if he kept laughing and running the the same time.
Let's face it: Final Fantasy X ending has much more emotional impact than Aerith's death.
so true
+Victor Vaz def true...
Ff VII Is so overated
+Victor Vaz The ending and let us not forget about when Tidus found out he was dream?
Damn right... But no one wants to face the truth: FFX is just the best game EVEEEEEEER !!!!!
Really Zack death wanst on here?
prob saving that for top 10 saddwst FF moments
+Kyero yeah. I still cry sometimes.
+ryan booker Of course that boring-ass Aerith gets to be #1, but as usual, Zack gets jack shit.
Honestly, Zack's death doesn't get enough credit. You know his death is coming, yet you're still forced to play it till the end - sacrificing himself and fighting the SOLDIERS to protect Cloud, who would later be the protagonist of the main game. And he didn't even get to see Aerith for the last time, when he was so close to Midgar.
xENiGMA14x That was the greatest last stand I ever played.
Zack's death was one of the most memorable moments in all Final Fantasy VII... why wasn't it mentioned?
Jan OtakuGames ?????
Zack's death is not a Final Fantasy VII moment. Wtf are you talking about. Besides who gives a shit about stupid Zack?
@@leonvoulgaris322 Ok I don't care that you said this 4 years ago but wherever you are, Zack is a TRUE HERO!
@@gamer-san8923 I haven't changed my mind these last 4 years... I give little chance that this will happen by your comment

There are so many better scenes in FFIX...the "You're Not Alone" scene towards the end of Disc 3 is one of the best scenes in the entire series!
Or Trance Kuja destroying Terra!
+Shawn Shuman Youre Not Alone is one of my favorite moments in FF history.
I really liked exploring Memoria, with that kickass tune
+Shawn Shuman or Bahamut vs Alexander, that was epic
+Shawn Shuman Vivi airship scene is another that comes to mind, too many feels.
"I'm the leading man. You know what they say about the leading man.
He never dies!"
I get chills every time.
To me it's the moment when the camera pans back from the falling Bahamut and it hits you that the war is finally over and how it weighed on you
NO YOU'RE NOT ALONE FROM FFIX??? OH COME ON GUYS!!!!!
Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn: The End of an Era cinematic. The music goes so well with the destruction of Eorzea.
I think Zack Fair's death in Crisis Core definitely deserves a spot
Really? No FFX intro or ending?
Not so much the intro, because we didn't know what the hell was going on. The ending was just so beautiful though.
The intro was awesome, even without knowing what was going on. Assuming he means the Sin/Auron/Blitzball intro, not the pregame intro.
the ending HAD to be here i mean it's the most beautiful scene I've ever seen
ffx is overrated
Mike Turcotte you're overrated
Now... I wanna go through all the series games again..
Damn you WatchMojo.. JK.. I love you guys..
So do I, too bad I don't have the time
+FoxDie85 My thoughts exactly, see you guys in few months!
Final Fantasy Type-0's ending is one of the most emotional moments on a FF ever! Sad it is not here..
Yeah that made me sad just watching it and the gameplay without playing it especially watching FFpeasant play it
What about Lightning punching Snow? I so loved that scene! :)
No 1,000 words? What the bloody heck? That moment was freaking awesome! And it doesn't even get an honorable mention?
Thank you so much for being so broad with the moments you picked!! This was a really well-rounded list!
Since you asked for suggestions, I think one great moment to mention would be the You're Not Alone sequence from Final Fantasy IX.
Off my throne jester! The King sits there. That was such a triumphant and baller moments in the franchise. From final fantasy 15
+Reviews From The North
WTF !!! The opening scene of FFX is probably in the top 3 of the best scenes of the whole game ! O^O'
+Rahsaan Footman I think X-2 is a little too disliked for people to care about that scene. The scene itself was great though, I agree.
My top favorite from X is the sending scene though. I was really sad that it wasn't in the list, haha.
+Rahsaan Footman YEA the concert! I LOVE THT SCENE FROM FFX-2
+Keith Brubaker The concert was awful! How can someboy like it. Rly it is a miracle to me :D
You forgot one of those! The scene where Cloud smiled!!
I think Bhunivelze and Lightning's battle should have been on here, or just the Last Day in general.
Kefka killed more Flower girl than Sephiroth
Dakebinator lol
Dakebinator by moving rocks. If any of the other ff villains wanted to succeed they can with how easy it was for kefLOL.
Now you must be a guy of quantity.
At the end of FF 7 the meteore hit the planet,so it will be illogic if everyone in Gaïa survived a meteore as giant as the moon in Majora s'Mask so that means that they have the same Kill Count the only difference that Kefka Looks as a combination of Dio Brando and Joker
i think everyone can agree that the ending for ffx should have been number 1, and then theres the fact that zack's death isnt even here..
***** well I wonder why critics say X is one of the best and Fangirls cried over ZACK
Zack is a stupid fuck noone gives a shit. Get over it...
i wonder why cloud gave a shit
Nichole Ye I cried like a baby at the end of X 😭
@@leonvoulgaris322 fuck you he's awesome!
Cecil's transformation into a paladin should have been much higher on the list, IMHO. I would have put the opera scene at #1 as well.
I knew aerith's death was coming when playing ff7 but still cried cause of how sad it was! It's a very powerful and unexpected move that always brings the feels
rinoa and squall hug, that is a really memorable moment...
zack's death...
ff x ending as well...
While the opening of FF IX is awesome Zidane's breakdown/ the "You Are Not Alone" sequence is way more impactful.
You just had to add Aerith's death- MAN BOTH FF7 DEATHS OF AERITH AND ZACK MAKE ME CRY EVERY TIME
Also Kefka didn't END the world...he changed it.
+Shawn Shuman THANK YOU! Thats what I have been saying!
+Shawn Shuman It's the same logic as people saying the world will end if life goes extinct. The "world" will be fine.
The ending of crisis core! When Zach dies, and says he want those wings too...
How the hell did Kefka destroy The World? Only stand users can harm other stands.

While I agree with number 1, you should've included as number 2 the battle between Alexander and Bahamut from FFIX, that was absolutely unforgettable.
You my friend is a wise-man. That scene was epic!
At this point let's just be glad FFIX made it on the list at all.
yeahhh!! final fantasy IX most underrated and unappreciated, well yeah since its predecessors are really good haha but yeah IX is definitely my fave
you said exactly what I was about to say! that cg scene was my favorite part of ffix. i've always liked the alexander summons but he's never really been done well. even though we don't get him as a playable character, this was the best version across all ff games
Final Fantasy IX was the first FF game I have ever played, and my most favorite one. Loved the story and loved the characters! So unappreciated it makes me angry :(
Man I can't imagine how hard it will be to watch Areith's death scene, when Final Fantasy 7 remaster shows up
What? Zack's last stand doesn't even get a mention? And of course Arith's death is number 1. Seriously am I the only who found it to be meh?
I'm with you man. Aerith's death was ok. Zack's was legendary. Not to mention overkill. The soldiers incapacitated him and what did they do? Leave him there to possibly bleed out? No put a dozen more rounds in him.
Not to mention the last line from Zack in the game for me was heartbreaking.
"Hey, would you say I became a Hero?"
Zidane alone in Pandemonium is my number one moment 😃
haven't watched yet, but guessing number 1 is tidus and Yuna in firefly pond, or tidus dying. At least those were the top moments in final Fantasy touched me the most
Final Fantasy has so many great moments, this list just barely scratches the surface.
My favorite Final Fantasy has to be the ninth. Judge me not.
Nobody will judge you. It is the best Final Fantasy
Feeling like you've lived a lie and worried what you might do to the ones you care about and pushing them away out of self doubt is a powerful theme to me, and again my personal favorite.
i agree with you!! the "you are not alone" scene gives me such epic feels. More so than Aerith's death
I just finished replaying tbe FF9 steam version, I love that scene so much!
Tidus laugh!
That scene is one of the sweetest in the entire game, so I'm down to put it on the list.
Honestly, it's not a bad moment. People take it out of context all too often. The fact of the matter is that he was fake laughing intentionally.
HA! HA! HA!
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!
...
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!
Let us be real... that was funny af
Personally, I'd say two of the best final fantasy scenes have to be Angeal's death and Zack's last stand from Crisis Core. Those hit hard.
Pretty sure the battle between Bahamut and Alexander in FFIX was more memorable than many of these
I would have put in Zidane's psychological break-down on Luna very high on this list.
Lockecole38
I've had those same thoughts.
Lockecole38
Tidus was never the problem for me.
1. Aeris Death (FF7)
2. Yuna & Tidus kiss (FF10)
3. Opera house scene (FF6)
4. Battle on big bridge (FF5)
5. Rinoa lost in space (FF8)
6. Cecil Paladin (FF4)
7. Sephiroth vs. Genesis & Angeal (FF7 Crisis Core)
8. Snow Surrenders (FF13)
9. Locke & Rachel scene (FF6)
10. Blitzball opening scene (FF10
Obviously there is a lot more. Just my opinion
I missed up. I forgot "I am not alone" from FF9. I would put that ahead of the FF8 lost in space
In my opinion it would be FFX opening scene, Yuna's dance on the water, the wedding, Tidus and Yuna's kiss, the end. The concerts in FFX2. That's approximately all. :P
has ff13. invalid list
Haven’t seen the list yet but Celes’ attempt at suicide almost got me
What about Zack's death? His was more depressing that Aerith's death to be completely honest...
+RoseBlood-Wolf Crisis Core was my first Final Fantasy game and proud of it.
+RoseBlood-Wolf No.
+Isis Ovelia Yes 😃
+Isis Ovelia Yes
Laurence Hammond Nope.
FFx when Tidus jumps into cloud a shakes his old mans hand was a top moment imo
+James Lewis OH. And Black Waltz vs. Vivi.
"Top 10 final fantasy lines" that line from ff7 is priceless!
+James Lewis
Well, to be fair, every FF list needs to get extended to at least Top 25 scale.
It's always seem short and left a lot to be desired. Can't blame Mojo, they're tackling the lore of one of the biggest franchise in the industry.
+James Lewis That laugh isn't famous it's infamous. It's not a top scene, it's a joke.
As an honorable mention, I'd have brought up speaking to the last boss of the first Final Fantasy. Three lines of text made that game actually quite memorable to me. It's impressive when they can do so much with so little. Doesn't top any in the list, hence the honorable mention status.
how about the sending in ffx? That one was legit.
This also explains why the Sun Crest and Sun Sigil power his ultimate weapon.
tidus's name is never said in final fantasy x, that's why nobody knew how to pronounce it correctly until it was said in dissidia
best series ever
Squall and Rinoa hug? This is symbol of love in the entire franchise
Where is Bahamut vs Alexander?

+xXTheRainKingXx crisis core
+xXTheRainKingXx
Number title wise: FF4, FF6, FF7 and FF9 were good. FF10 and FF13 were decent. The rest were either lackluster, mediocre or just bad (Not counting ARR due to it being a remake of the original).
+xXTheRainKingXx Has none of the crazy spin-offs tickled your fancy?
+xXTheRainKingXx Fun thing, most FF's that have been released are actually good, the only real bad one being XIV, and that has already been fixed.
+xXTheRainKingXx I strongly disagree. FF XII was really good, FF XIII was convoluted but its sequel, especially Lightening returns, were quite great and clever.
Shadow staying in the final dungeon to die is underrated af
in 9 The summoning of Alexandria vs Bahamut. 6 Celes's suicide attempt. 8 the beginning of the game or the Seed test mission opener
also from ff6, Cecil attempted suicide, shadows past, and lock's and Rachel. all got me in the feels...
Now aeris' death in HD
This needs three things:
The bridge-crossing scene from the first FF,
The final battle of the fourth one,
and Sabin suplexing the Phantom Train.
I'm happy that FF IX was here. That game does not get the love that it deserves. But there are so many better parts then just the opening of the game, or was that as far as you got in it? Also why did FF VII get two spots on the list... what did you run out of final fantasies to look at?
VI got two as well deal with it
Now I guess, the last time Lunafreya talks to Noctis from FFXV can be mentioned too
so much FF9 missing...

Tidus finding out that a summoner dies when they defeat Sin
The ambush on the wedding
The party rebelling against Yunalesca and the concept of the Final Aeon
Fighting Sin aboard the airship
