This video goes over how to change out the Mass AirFlow(MAF) sensor on a 2018 and above Chevy Equinox. These sensors are pretty easy to change and don't require many tools to do it. In this video you get to see my out right frustration with the clip because it had broken. Plus the steps needed to replace the senor. As always our videos are in first person and rough cut because we offer help to anyone looking for it and we are not camera operators or film editors. If you have any questions or comments please leave them in the comments and we will respond as soon as we can.
Just as a fair warning, this did NOT solve the issue with the car.

You’re awesome for making this video!! It’s helped us more than any of the “official brand ” car videos out there!

Thanks for the compliment, hopefully someday we will be one of the bigger channels doing stuff like this all the time. For now, though, make sure to subscribe and tell your friends.

I have the wiring harness in the description. It replaces that section and gives you wires back to the connector before

I was going to change throttle body but decided to let chevy do it. Car is running rough. Seems to be iddled or something. They want me to get the code test for $120🙄 because they found all kinds of ish going on with it🙄 taking it back next week. A few months ago, when i removed my airflow sensor then put it back, the car ran smooth for about 2weeks then started the jerkiness again.
Any idea why it's idling sitting in park position after cleaning throttle body❓️🤔 idling like my air/heat is on😡

This is tough one just based all the symptoms. First off, if it has a code you can read, it has a check engine light. An obd2 tester is cheaper than $120 to test for codes. If it is an internal code and you need to run diagnostic the computer for that is a couple thousand dollars. There are a few sensors that could be causing an air/fuel mixture problem, which would cause rough idle. It also could be a fuel delivery problem. If you have a check engine light. I would start with an obd2 reader. They are about $20-50. That will get you the code, the code can be looked up online. That will tell you what you need to be looking for. It could be as simple as the tps on the throttle body is bad or it could be a bad fuel injector. Hopefully that helps.

Good afternoon, I watched the video, and Im having the same exact issues with my car startup. When you took this car to the shop, what did they say was the problem with the car and was it fixed?

We had done this and the throttle body. Neither fixed it. I took it to my buddys shop and told him what i went through. He wanted to check through the turbo system. He adjusted the waste gate and found a leaking intercooler. He changed that. While the car was there, a friend of his from Chevy came by to drop off parts. He looked at what it was doing and said the engine was gone and that they had 6 of them sitting at the dealership with the same issue. We didn't get a definitive answer other than it would need a new engine. We traded to the dealer for bad money and bought a 23 honda passport. Thanks for the comment, hopefully yours is not a bad engine

You didnt try to clean it first❓️🤔

On these, the maf looks more like a credit card than a traditional maf sensor. There isn't really anything to clean. The part that reads the air is inside the housing. You can probably clean it if you take it apart, but it's more likely to get damaged. It better to replace them. Plus they are 2 bolt and under $50 to change.

@GodessIsabelRaina you can always try it but i don't think it will work on this type.
