So the spark is Project 2024.... part 2?
No, Bill is upset we are taking a loss on the Commander. This project is gonna get sold asap for very little profit. He doesn't want to take the chance we lose again. It has something going on with the transmission. He doesn't want to spend the money to go through the possible issues. This is the drawback of having a partner on cars. Shortly after these 2 cars are gone, we are going to start on the 1970 F250.
Thankyou
Man, thank you so much. Just used your video to replace the battery in the wife's equinox. Sincerely hope there's a circle of hell dedicated to engineers who design things like this. And I sincerely hope there's a circle of heaven dedicated to the mechanics that provide videos like this one.
Just curious… did you happen to re-seal that grommet near the spare tire? If not, it can get water from splash up. Only saying this from experience in my old 4Runner after installing a auxiliary battery system
We didn't at the time. My buddy, who owns this car, was gonna go through and do some finish work to it once we were done. I never asked if he did do this but he might have. It can easily be done with any form of silicon sealant. Generally, if it is a normal driver, you won't have issues with that unless you offroad through water or drive in a lot of snow/rain. Thanks for the comment.
What type of tires does this suv have
Dear bot, go to Ford's website and build one. It is the fastest way to get that answer.
Thanks, very helpful
Made it way more difficult than it needed to be
I'm only asking out of morbid curiosity. How did i do that?
How many mpg on highway and what type of issues did this car have
@MrsJ-r9c this wasn't my car and most of that can be looked up online, i don't know it without doing the same.
Not doin this!! Lol
You're not required to...
@@SKPcars maybe not qualified to
@seanosborne i don't think a qualification is required but i get what you mean.
I used to have a Spark, fun little car even though my friends made fun of it 😂
Weird, i only know what guy who drove one of these. He was kinda bald and short and round. We made fun of him, not so much the car.
I live where it's triple digits from May to Septermber. I get about 2 years on my batteries.
We live in an area with high temps in summer and low temps in winter. We manage about 3-5 years and about 7 from the oem installed battery. My tractor and lawn mower batteries might last a year or 2.
I have 2022 Civic FE with steering rack already replaced twice. 1st: too sticky and cannot keep the car in the center when driving. 2nd: recalled and changed. NOW what? Problem came back in 3 months from the recall replacement....Whats wrong with Honda?
I wish i had a good answer for you. Mine just kind of went away on it's own, that or they sent some update and it fixed the issue. If you have brought it in enough times for the same issue you can always lemon law the car. It might be a flaw built into that one car or something beyond what they can do to fix it.
Well... I guess it was not as bad as it could be? This job seems like it takes a while just wondering if its like a 2 day job for someone who has never done it before?
It mostly depends on how you do it. It could take 2 days if you take your time. I think i did it over 2 days because i was waiting for the parts. As long as you have some mechanical skill and give yourself time, it might take a day to do. I think i had about 4 hours in it and i was taking my time. I don't know if that helps, best of luck. Hopefully, it works out for you.
You need a videographer brother.
I do, badly. The problem is, the channel doesn't make enough to pay one, and none of my friends do it. The channel is growing but not fast enough for improvements. Plus, i sink all my investment money into parts for these cars. There is a big plan for this jeep coming up and i already have a few thousand in that video which we haven't even started on because i have so many projects going. It's tough doing this part time and working to support a family. I need more viewers, like a lot more. 40-50k views a month isn't paying for the channel and my tax person already warned this is my last year at a loss or i have fold it up as a business. I keep hoping something goes just viral enough to make it work or one of these bigger channels i message about working on something together actually wants to so i get the channel out there. Unfortunately the channel is no, scotty kilmer, donut, cleetus mcfarlane, supercar blonde or we would be able to do everything we want to do.
@SKPcars that really sucks man. Hope you get to keep the channel up, as you're pretty knowledgeable. Go on Google trends and see if car videos come up and look at their style of videos and mimic that. I'm not trying to tell you to run your channel, just trying to help.
@vasiljevicbranko i appreciate the compliment. I do want to keep the channel going and it is growing. I know a simple way to gain views i just don't want to do it. I just have to what scotty kilmer does and negatively reinforce all the titles to my videos. "If you put this in your honda, it will die.", "toyota has a huge problem with this." He draws them all in with clickbate. I want to be more positive, i want to help. I want the channel to teach and i want it to become something to be contended with for car channels. Scotty is retired that why he can put out as many videos as he does and the algorithm loves promoting his stuff. It doesn't like mine, at the moment, but it will get there.
They DO have a rear end...and you didn't cover how to swap the oil....thanks for wasting our time...
You DID read the title, right? The 2wd's don't have a rear end. The 4wd have a rear differential. You're welcome.
I did it in 2008 silverado 2500 Hd, and worked.... thanks
Glad the video could help, thanks for watching
Same here!!!… 2023 Honda civic sport
Mine seems to have resolved itself for the moment. It hasn't done it in a little while with me doing nothing to it. If it stays that way great, all i can figure is they sent out some sort of system update.
Same here 2023 Honda Civic Sport
ottimo lavoro. veloce e chiaro
I'm having the same issue with my 2019 Honda Civic LX.
I explained this recently on another comment. The year you have is a gen 10 with an electronic assisted steering system. I may have to make a video showing this. On the gen 11, the steering basically fly by wire. There is no steering shaft, like there would be on your car. You are probably having an issue with your electronic steering assist unit. They seem to have put out some that are not working the way they should.
(plz don't be to harsh on me I am a French Canadian) Had the same issue on my 2020 civic sedan, started exactly how you described it. I went to the dealer, told them, and that I did not feel safe and lost confidence in the car, to a point that I would not go out on the road unless I really had to. Couple of weeks later I decided to go to a local mechanic to get the front wheels aligned the data showed the car alignment was just fine and the sensors too. Couple of hundreds Km later the steering wheel went from 12 o'clock to 11:45 o'clock, then 11h30 over just 4-5 days. The car was not pulling/drifting left, just the steering wheel starting to shift left while the car still go perfectly straight...2 weeks later....the EPS failed while I was driving down the highway at rush hour time.... Kinda scary! I never felt safe driving this car....I guess, I was unfortunately right. FYI: 45000km in 4 years, that's how often I didn't go out because of that untrustworthy feeling.
This is all great information but the 2020 is a generation 10. The gen 10 has an electronic assisted steering system. The gen 11 is essentially fly by wire and has no steering shaft that connects to the gearbox to steer it. Your gen 10 probably has a problem with the steering assist unit. It is really common for the steering units in those to have faults similar to what you are talking about. It might be worth while to look into changing the steering assist unit. Hopefully that helps.
Power can MUCH more easily be tapped into the 12V socket on the passenger side. 😀
Ok, glad that worked for you.
thank you, i keep telling people my tires are NOT stock so the thing behind the door is useless
Glad the video could help
@@SKPcarsoh wait, u responded, i have a question now
@@SKPcarsso my rims are larger and my tires are a different size, so the specs on my door are useless, so how else am i supposed to find the correct psi to use on my car if its not stock nore the same measurements anymore?
I respond to almost everything people comment. Engagement is a metric of algorithm people take for granted. There are a few ways to do this. Simplest is rule of thumb for most passenger car tires is 32-35 psi. Anything within there depending on how you want the weight load distribution set. You can also check the tire manufacturers site for specs on the tire. This is more important for a truck tire where the weight load has more to do with payload. Let me know if you need anything else.
@@SKPcarsthanks man, was just double checking!
Thanks for the video! I have the same issue on my 2024 CRV with 7000 miles. I do not have an add on camera or anything else that could be blocking an RF signal.
The RF signal in this case would be causing the interference with keeping the other camera calibrated. The stock camera would be wired to the system. Currently, i haven't had the issue for a few months and we have done nothing to fix it.
I have the same "sticky" steering on my 2023 CRV. Was the dealer able to fix this for you?
No, they said they recalibrated it but it was still an issue.
LF/RF/RR/LR
Yes, on some models not all of them are the same. Safest to follow the lights.
@@SKPcars I never noticed the lights on my truck referencing the position 😎 I will check Tx
You did an absolutely phenomenal job explaining everything in full detail and showing it as you did so
Thanks, i have been trying to speed the videos up a bit because people now days seem to have no patience for long videos. Hopefully none of the needed parts get lost in the process. Thanks for the comment.
@@SKPcars You did a great job on this video and really pointed out the one thing that caught me up yesterday. I was replacing my spark plugs on the Cherokee and that 13mm stud that holds the bracket in place tripped me up. I couldn't find what was holding the rest of the intake manifold down which you pointed out. If you do any more repairs on your Jeep, I'd be happy to see the videos because I do a lot of DIY and I'm looking at doing my brakes next.
@@Nomad-ji6sc We did do the brakes on this one. there is a playlist for the Cherokee. there are a few different size brakes is the biggest thing to watch out for. We should have parts in the description too to make it easier. Also i technically still own this car but it is leased out to a friend who needed a car badly to get his kids around. If you haven't yet make sure to subscribe lots of videos on lots of cars.
Great instructions dude?👍
Thanks
Good title for civic owner,,thanks
I have a 2019 2.0 and its been flawless, 107,000 KM, regular maintainence, high quality Oil. I had more issues with my Subaru Impreza and wifes Nissan Rogue vs my Equinox
As i have stated in many comments on here. It is always good to hear you are having a good experience with your car. This car was not a good car and was traded in, going on 2 years ago. You may not have the same issues this one did. I would never buy one of these again. I hope you get a million miles out of your equinox, best of luck.
I hate that motor I have one of my own it’s an absolute nightmare I have replaced vacuum pump the o2 the cat now the coolant system is going
Well we dumped ours for a Honda passport and are much happier.
2017 jeep cherokee sport 81k miles, just came on first time yesterday after hitting a bump. Issues caused by hitting a bump make me immediately think a wiring connection is root cause. Any luck for you?
I didn't make an attempt at changing it because so many other videos said it will fail again. There is someone on this thread who talked about repairing the connections to the board. It seems like the most realistic repair to be made. When it comes on it doesn't effect anything but the ability to use the manual shifter. The car still performs the same so i just left it on. If it bothered me i pulled over and cycled the power on and off and it went away. If you want to change it i think i have the parts linked in the description.
Can fit h5 group from Costco?
Being from Costco doesn't make a difference but an H5 is a little shorter and wider. It should probably fit. I think the cca on an H5 is higher too so it might be a better option.
Um... ramp? Yeah jump it!
Might be coming soon if this video takes off. I already have the roll cage
I know that chevys can be a hit or miss but my 2013 chevy malibu with 203,000 miles has been ok. Now I had it in the dealership for the vvt solenoids under warranty at 40,000 for the intake solenoids and around 60,000 for the exhaust solenoids. The has needed the regular wear items but list would be long. The LTG ecotec is a easy engine to work on because I dont take my car to dealership or rarely to shop if I can help it. This the first year for the LTG also so I was the test pig. Dont for to run premium even though you can regular for the 180,000 thats all I ran but lately I run 89 if its cooler outside because once its gets hot out you will feel the performance drop the same with my buick regal gs
Ok, I'm glad you got good miles on your malibu. The fact that people keep talking about the malibu on here has become a running joke with some of my friends. I don't believe they came with the same engines.
"Don't jack off the body" - someone been talkin to my wife!
thanks for all your jeep cherokee KL 3.2L vids, liked and subbed! looking foward to the drivebelt/coolant change, transmission fluid change
I'm glad you are finding them useful. There probably won't be too many more. i have leased this car out to a friend, who needed a car badly. Unless he wants me to work on it or i get the car back, chances are slim i will have more videos on it. Great car though i liked driving it better than the 2023 civic i have now.
You're so patient. I would've given up after counting the bumper plugs.
Thanks
I thought it was just my car that had this issue, it felt so uneasy driving on the highway. The dealership is now fixing the issue for me. thanks again :)
That's great, mine seems to have cleared up on it's own. I keep expecting it to come back at any moment.
How did you get the cans in top dead center? I can’t reach the crankshaft to save my life.
I'm pretty sure it gets explained in the video. i used the cams while still under tension from the chains. There is a section on it that is set for a wrench. It is very difficult if you try from the crankshaft. It becomes more difficult if you removed everything and then want to get to TDC.
Just got the wrong hitch sent to me and spent about 30 minutes finding out that tragedy (mental note not to let my wife buy car parts). Then I realized she hadn't bought a wiring harness. Was about to throw my hands up and take it in somewhere to let them worry about it.... Then I watched your video. Since my dad loved DIY car remakes, I'm now comfortable enough to just buy the kit and make one of my kids do it with me next week.
Great story, glad the video could help. If you got it through amazon, i have problems with it changing the vehicle parts to other cars the further i scroll. Drives me crazy especially after i filtered to the vehicle. This job is not that hard to do, you got this. Best of luck, make sure to subscribe.
@@SKPcars That's probably what happened. And to boot we have the 2018 XLE hybrid so lots of opportunities to make a mistake.
Didn't know that about the format. Thanks!
I wanted to get into more detail but i only have 1 min. for a short. Glad you liked it.
Can you do passenger side
I actually did for a short video. There is no real way to do it without totally taking apart the dash the closest thing is removing the glove box and door.
th-cam.com/users/shortsQsrY5-uetK0?feature=share
I just bought a new 2024 civic and they didn’t mention anything about this recall! The car manufacturer date is 12/2023. I noticed the other day after the car wash there was a loud metal clanking and grinding noise. Could this be related to the recall. Did Honda correct the steering rack problem for the 2024 models? Any help appreciated!!
When i went in they said the window of what was wrong was very small and only effect some 2023 and 2024 models. They way they explained the issue was when the wheel is turned all the way to one direction of the other the steering rack could contact the wheel. Based on what you are saying, i think your problem is related to the car wash. If the drive for the car wash caused something underneath to bend or brake. I would look under to see if there is any damage.
@@SKPcars thank you so much for the prompt reply. I will take it into Honda tomorrow and have them take a look at it. Great car regardless! only other complaint I have is the center screen freezes when playing music and SiriusXM
I'm glad you like the car. I would call it, just a car. It's not one of my favorites. My KL cherokee was more comfortable. I don't use satellite radio. I'm old, i have a flash drive with my music on it. I listen to that. Best of luck.
Noise solved. Ended up being a rock stuck between rotor and pads!
@garrettj6838 I'm glad to hear it was nothing serious.
5 Minutes???
Yes, the video is 5 mins., not the work that was done.
@@SKPcars that’s not what the title would suggest. Great click bait though.
In most cases, when working on cars, 5 mins would give you enough time to pull out some tools.
