I think one of the screens was down on this video. On the second vertical lift there should be a screen displaying lightning, clouds and something “falling” on top of the riders (I think it was a keep out sign?)

Riding Wild Eagle is a super smooth version of the Tennessee Tornado. You will feel like you're flying because there is no track beneath you. Exhilarating! DO IT!!
Just went today and the vertical u-turn at 1:20 is still in place, like the track is still there… but the ride takes a totally different path. Very odd.
You're right, its a new change but it seems they don't want to have that u-turn as part of the ride anymore if they thought it was too intense. You can even see the difference on Google Maps where they make it turn left instead of going down into it while leaving the u-turn free-standing.

Me, my step sisters, and stepfather had never been on a rollercoaster. I was placed in the front row along with my mother, and my step sister and my stepfather and other stepsister were in the back. My eyes were blue with *LITERAL* fear and I *screamed* everytime fire blew in my face or I went upside down. I didn't know what to expect because, my mother kept exclaiming "THIS IS A KIDDY RIDE." 🙃🙃🙃🙃
Your mom was probably thinking of the Blazing Fury ride at Dollywood. Blazing Fury has been around since 1978. Compared to this, Blazing Fury is a kiddy ride. It has one semi-big drop toward the end of the ride, but the rest of the ride is pretty flat and you aren't going very fast. They both have a similar theme, although Blazing Fury is designed like on Old West mining town that is on fire. I highly recommend anyone visiting Dollywood to ride Blazing Fury as well and appreciate it for what it is. I personally am not a fan of the Haunted Mine ride because it does sling you around a lot and there have been a lot of people complain about how rough the ride is. Blazing Fury is very smooth, even for how old it is.
My god, I’m a 12yo who wants to become an enthusiast and me and my family went on a trip to Dollywood and I loved rides like thunderhead and lightning rod, but this is the worst coaster I’ve ever ridden, not only is the layout boring, but the entire time you head is smashing in to the restraints and yes I rode it after the overhaul. This thing really needs the new gearslour trains with lap bars and maybe this ride would be ok.
No, it dont compare to the thrill of a uber coaster rides which are park favorites for many, but I probably enjoyed this ride the most from what Dollywood offered.

It's called mystery mine because of the whole mine theme, but the biggest mystery is the layout.

By far my favorite rollercoaster in Dollywood. I loved it and would ride it 100 times over if I could.
The drop at the end was actually very intense for me! The corkscrew was great.

The second drop is terrifyingly funny your climbing straight up and then drop 88 feet at 95 degree angle into a corkscrew

So the screen wasn’t working? That’s a bummer. Although you did get the sound effects before the first lift working, they almost never do

They where on it when the park wasn’t open so I’m sure they forgot to turn on some breakers before they rode it. Common mistakes.
