You are so right! You can’t control your hitting quota, but you can control your effort you put in. There has been so many times I’ve closed deals I didn’t think the prospect would go for all because I at least tried.
I have been in tech sales and leadership for a loooong time. This industry is now filled with terrible sales people, I’m being dramatic but not far off. There is a ton of opportunity for someone who consistently does the basics. Readiness - do you study your products, the industry and practice telling stories? Do you prepare by doing research on your customers business and how you can add value vs try to sell something? Do you prospect to build your pipeline? Do you work 60-70 hrs per week? I can guarantee a very successful and lucrative career for someone who does the basics. Most people don’t do these things. Matt, love this video and your method of continuous improvement. Keep it up!
Great video mate. Quick question. at 6:33 you talk about cold calling not being viable in the next 5-7 years. Curious to know why? Reason I ask is that people have been saying that since the 90s but I've heard of solutions that are coming out that can filter out cold calls for the prospect. Perhaps you have seen something like this?
Hey Matt, new to the channel and enjoying your content. Keep it up. The next part of my comment is said with love, from one sales guy to another, so please take it the right way - On the mentality to cold calling, do you think this dread is part of why you are struggling this year? Wondering how many clients you can book meetings with if you despise it that much. I know you've mentioned that a lot (or at least a few) of your leads are inbound, but I would still find it hard to win a client over with that mindset. I guess it comes down to how much of your pipe you can self generate, and whether you can cold call some whales in to save your year. Thinking aloud here, and all delivered with love. Remember it takes one ball to change a cricket match 😉 Good luck my man. Barracking for you
@@MattMacnamara you lead a GIANT sales team on here everyday haha. But that makes sense. That would be great to get an SDR Managers insights. Thank you
Hey Matt , very good video . I can do better editing in your videos which can help you to get more engagement in your videos . Pls lmk what do you think ?
Love the honesty, its a tough environment we work in where every month our performance is evaluated based on metrics, not sure any other profession is as ruthless as that.

Thanks Joseph! Agreed…most salespeople are AWFUL which is a good thing for those that care and try to
I’ve subscribed. Thank you for an honest and refreshing video. We can’t win every single meeting/call.
Thanks for subscribing!

I don’t think it’s viable because millenials and gen Z aren’t receptive to the phone

Thanks for watching and commenting Luke!
agreed, more eyeballs, less cold calls
yep, that's where it's going
My brother Matt. Can you make a video on if you were an SDR/BDR manager. How you would you coach your team
I can interview an SDR manager for a video…that’d be better than me saying what I would do as I’ve never led a sales team
