I started out doing the 18/6 fast. It took about a week and a half for my body to get used to it. Maybe you could also try the 5/2 fast. It was very hard but well worth it in the end. I hope this gives you a little help.

This is the only eating pattern that has ever been sustainable for me. I love not having to plan meals every 2 to 3 hours each day. And I'm at my most lean I've ever been.
Been doing OMAD with some IF for about 3 months, and it totally works. Was around 346 when I started on February 21st, and I’m down to 302 today. Also had like a week and a half worth of chest days sprinkled in. We would not be here if our ancestors could eat whenever. Fasting is mostly mental.
I’ve been doing IF for a month now and it’s been amazingly wonderful. I usually do 14 hour fasting and I start by eating my dinner at 7 or 8pm and then just water or a herbal tea if I want to. This method helps the body and all the hormones to work properly and the body starts to function better and weight loss is just one of the many greatest result of it.
People don't seem to understand, you can actually fast for long without food. Obviously you'll feel hungry but after that you will feel more energetic and lighter due to weightloss.
Just started I.F. again 2 weeks ago. I love the feeling! Even though I do still crave sweets I have a harder time giving in to it. Almost like "I didnt just make myself hungry for 16 hours just to give into these cookies". Just the schedule helps your mind set
I just want to ask one question suppose we are fasting 16:8 window so should we fast for everyday or we should take a gap of one or two days every week please answer
G&N Inactive I cut out soda in juice I just drink water it’s ok to have a soda or juice every now in then but make sure to drink a lot of water....and I really didn’t have a diet I just ate what I wanted
Mandy kaur I would normally do 18 hour fast but some days I may take it easy in do a 16 hour fast or sometimes I might wanna intensify it by doing a 20 hour but it’s all up to you in what you can do all of it is effective
Doing 20:4 (4 hour eating window) for 3 month now, did cut total calorie-intake aswell (from 2000+ down to around 1800 a day), lost 26.5 pounds (my weight is now 174 pounds in total). I tried other diets before, but since i dont go hungry anymore in the 20 hour period due to my body having adjusted (took me around 2 weeks), this one is actually easy to do. I dont feel sick or low energy, i can workout without any problems. Worked wonderfull so far. After i have the weight i want ill just go for the 16:8 method and hope i can maintain. Cheers.
@@glaciveestudios6170 That's not true for everyone because there are plenty of people who follow natural hunger cues and only eat once or twice. Three meals a day was something that was ingrained into us before the 6 small meals was.
I tried fasting for the first time and went 45 hours without food... During that time, I cleaned my whole house for 35 hours and went into happiness mode. I recommend to start IF, the 16-8 first though
I’m on day 4 of a 10 day fast and have lost 7 pounds so far. I feel good, I’m not hungry. I have saved so much money and time by fasting. I wish I knew about fasting sooner. I’ve got 47 pounds to go to reach my goal weight of 135... I’m so excited and happy to learn that fasting is easy 😆 😆😆
At first I did I.F with 2 meals a day (8 hour window) because I was scared of being hungry. Now, I'm fasting everyday with only 1 meal a day. Feels amazing! I also drink ACV alongside fasting :)
Most people fast when they sleep. If you sleep 6-8 hours a day eliminate eating the hours before going to sleep, and/or when you get up from your sleep. Say you sleep 8 hours a day, start your fast 4 hours before sleeping and 4 hours after you awake, you are now fasting 16/8. Adjust your hours according to your needs and schedule.
Latte Brown exactly my eating window is from 2pm - 6pm I fast for 20 hrs I use your method back when I was using the 16/8 and thanks to that it help me out for increasing my fasting hours.
I'm still at it! I have no problem with the fasting part of it, I have a problem with the eating part. I had a not so good month for July with holidays and summer parties. I'm getting back on track now. I still have a long way to go. Slow and steady...
KinkyCurlyDiva16 how much can you lose a day? I cut down 600 calories than my BMR, started a few days ago. I eat at a caloric deficit, but eat whatever I want.
Intermittent fasting absolutely works and you get used to it after a couple of days. The problem is that you might break it due to social events or professional/social responsibilities. I was doing it for about a month having amazing results until a birthday party came up and a business trip right the next day... All my effort lost... but I'll start again
Hi! I am from Toronto Canada. I started June 4 2018 and weighed 143 lbs. I am 5'2". I was noticing shortness of breath when i climb stairs or do my long walks. My cousin told me about it as she has lost 30 lbs in 1 year doing IF and i started June 4. It was very tough the first two weeks as I am always eating from breakfast at 9am to 11pm at night..I do 16:8. Today August 10 i am now at 132 lbs. And no longer have shortness of breath. My brain is very clear. And the 8 hours i eat normally. I even eat a few pieces of chocolate or a few pieces of chips 😀 i do 16:8 or 15:7 every single day since june 4. i am so happy doing IF!!!!
I Lost 35 lbs and keeping it off for over three years now. I am no longer a pre-diabetic and do not have high cholesterol or high triglycerides. Plus I feel better than I have in a long time!! IF for LIFE!! 🥰
I'm doing this right now and I already lost about 8 ponds in two weeks! The first two days were the hardest. My stomach growled at me very often and I always stopped that by drinking a lot of carbonated water. If you add high-protein foods in your meals you shed ponds in no time. I eat a lot of eggs, cheese and oily fish. And I noticed that my appetite is not as big as it used to be. I'm fuller with less food. It's a nice method of losing weight without forbidden food items. And it works.
I didn’t realise I’ve been doing intermittent fasting for one whole month every year year since i was 10 y/o. It’s called Ramadhan for us muslims. We must fast for 30 days😂😂. This is like 16-8 version of IF. We also have 5-2 version of IF where all muslims are encouraged to fast on Monday and Thursday.
From what I've observed of Ramadhan eating patterns, many people have just swapped day for night i.e. they don't eat during the day but stuff themselves at night! I wouldn't cite that as an example of fasting for weight loss.
@@FF-rm1qo not everyone . also ramadan isnt for weight loss its for resting your body during the fast period and feeling the pain of people who cant afford eating 3 meals or more a day

Intermittent fasting is AWESOME for my intestines. They really get a break. I've been going 16:8 for six weeks and won't go back. I strive for it every day and sometimes go higher than 16 hours fast naturally because I just don't feel like eating. Other days it's more like 14-16 hours. It's made easy by skipping breakfast - and eating breakfast would make me hungry again a few hours later, calories that I don't really need because I do much better physically and cognitively without eating those meals. Plus the great-feeling intestines! What's not to like?
We jains for decades have been doing this, by following the principle of no eating after sunset, and eating after 2 hours of sunrise,n yes We do this through out our life!
@@professionalfangster1510 The prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, taught later generations that came after him and to all people that one should not eat to the point of being overly full. And only eat when you’re hungry. Regardless if at his time they were poor or not. It was a life lesson for all mankind. Have a great day :)
In Islam,Fasting is obligary during the month of Ramadan which is something everybody knows. But what you might not know is that there also are days that you can fast in like every Monday and Thursday,The 13th and 14th of every lunar month and etc. Those aren't obligary but you get rewarded for fasting them and fasting is from sunrise until sunset,Which can range from a few hours to 23 hours or even more.
They said that IF can promote insulin resistance, but actually the opposite is the case-insulin resistance occurs when you eat lots of carbs and sugary foods.

I started the 16:8 intermittent fast 4 weeks ago, and I’ve lost 12lbs, although it was difficult in the first 2 weeks to skip breakfast in the morning, I’m now comfortable in my mind that I will never need to eat breakfast until 1pm. It works and it’s so easy.

There are days when I have not have not consumed enough calories the night before, but i have some extra water and the hunger subsides. Hope this helps. If you’ve tasted for that long you need to break your fast slowly so your stomach can begin to digest food again. I go with orange juice first then build up to soups and salads. Then after that you can eat most other things.
I've tried intermittent fasting before, where I eat almost no food for one whole day, save for tea, coffee, a tomato or so, much less than 200 calories in one day. The next day, I became completely unbloated, so yes, it's beneficial. I went to the bathroom a lot and I probably lost a lot of water weight, hence the unbloating effect.
Thank you bright side!I did this diet for two weeks (going in a day one, day two, and day three cycle) and lost 23 pounds!I also gained a bit of muscle (15 pounds) by going to the gym and sprinting five times a week.
I think you made a mistake at 7:18 when you said the fasting period can “promote insulin resistance“ - insulin resistance is something you want to avoid and fasting can help fix that problem.
ima start this today😁.....ima eat from 12:00 to 5:00 everyday Large meals And small portions off fruits and vegetables during the fast and a 20 min workout by this TH-camr relentless jake and don't forgot to stay hydrated....and follow that for at least a month and you'll notice a big change in your weight
I've been doing intermitten fasting since I was 7 years old, 30 days straight, once a year. Not only refraining from eating or drinking but also refraining from bad habits as much as I could.
Its obligatory for Muslims to fast 30 days before sunrise till sunset every year in a month of ramadan....beneficial both physicaly and spiritually .....research about it ...
Ramadan is DRY fasting sunup to sundown, dry fasting is way more intense and requires a few hours of reading up (or videos) to do it without hurting yourself or unintended consequences. This is NOT a comment “slamming” the practice, it is just intense. More intense than long water only fasts...which I do every year, between 22 and 41 days (in last 15 years, 4 over 40 days, 1 of those 49 days). I wish I did not like water THAT much...I would try it. Mormons are supposed to dry fast at least one day a month, rules depend on the faction and location...
Except most Muslims gorge themselves every night with an assortment of unhealthy foods. That ain’t fasting. The hunger and thirst during the day cause excessive eating and drinking at night and before sunrise. At-least that was my experience.
IF and extended fasts work for me. I've lost 45 pounds, 10 inches on waist, dropped two shirt sizes and moved from 40" inch waist pants to 36". Maintained gym strength with much less inflammation.
Today I finally hit my goal of losing 20lbs🥳 it was a very slow and steady process..i didn’t do any severe restrictions, just slowly cut my calorie in take every 2 weeks until i hit the deficit i needed and stayed there for 12 weeks (lost the last stubborn 6lbs). Now i want to slowly integrate more calories until i hit maintenance!
8 months ago I started IF 16/8 Now I eat 2 cups of unprocessed low carbs every 24 hours, I supplement with vitamins/minerals and lost 60 lbs, however I didn't do this to lose weight, I did it to rehydrate spinal disc's, reverse my artritis, and other health issues, Unless you are an athlete , or less than 30 yrs old, depending on your occupation, how much do you really need to eat every day, I mean if everything you do is moderate, 2 cups of fruit and veggies and 50 grams of protein Once every 24 hrs will keep you healthy, I say this to people , and they say why are you not hungry, how can you have energy, well I just have to say, more energy than if I ate three times a day, and no there is no hunger, ?
Running, barely weight loss (anaeroob) and frustrated. I started with walking (aeroob), intermittent fasting (varying among 18:6, 20:4 (Warrior), OMAD) and HIIT (varying between 10-40 minutes), while practicing Krav Maga. I am now melting like an ice cream in the sun :-D !!!

Yes people today think that it is bad not to eat when hungry xD
How long for fasting you recommend?

Most people fast when they sleep. If you sleep 6-8 hours a day eliminate eating the hours before going to sleep, and/or when you get up from your sleep. Say you sleep 8 hours a day, start your fast 4 hours before sleeping and 4 hours after you awake, you are now fasting 16/8. Adjust your hours according to your needs and schedule.

I even eat a few pieces of chocolate or a few pieces of chips 😀 i do 16:8 or 15:7 every single day since june 4. i am so happy doing IF!!!!
i think this is the option for me. I plan to eat from 9 am to 5 pm.
15:7? what about the other 2 hours?
I can't understand what it is...plz can u xpln with meal times in a day

I'm doing this right now and I already lost about 8 ponds in two weeks! The first two days were the hardest. My stomach growled at me very often and I always stopped that by drinking a lot of carbonated water. If you add high-protein foods in your meals you shed ponds in no time. I eat a lot of eggs, cheese and oily fish. And I noticed that my appetite is not as big as it used to be. I'm fuller with less food.

As a Mormon we fasted for 24 hrs once a month. I am no longer a practicing Mormon but it sure made it easier to shift into IF.
From what I've observed of Ramadhan eating patterns, many people have just swapped day for night i.e. they don't eat during the day but stuff themselves at night! I wouldn't cite that as an example of fasting for weight loss.

If you’ve tasted for that long you need to break your fast slowly so your stomach can begin to digest food again. I go with orange juice first then build up to soups and salads. Then after that you can eat most other things.
I've tried intermittent fasting before, where I eat almost no food for one whole day, save for tea, coffee, a tomato or so, much less than 200 calories in one day. The next day, I became completely unbloated, so yes, it's beneficial. I went to the bathroom a lot and I probably lost a lot of water weight, hence the unbloating effect.
