    I used to eat junk food almost every day. I was depressed, lazy and anxious.
    Now I'm eating a high protein diet with a lot of fiber. I run 5 times a week, strength train 3 times a week and have a physical job. My new diet made me lean and strong.

    I'm glad you pointed out the kidney damage myth. Eating lots of protein won't damage your kidneys - this myth has come about people with kidney problems can't process protein so well and are therefore are put on low protein diets. Many experts in the field say there's actually no data on whether it's possible to eat too much protein, as you generally get too full before it becomes a problem. A little disappointed that you then go on to say that saturated fat and cholesterol are bad for you though - scientists and credible studies have been trying to get the medical and nutritional establishments to stop pushing this unfounded dogma for years. Triglycerides are the real culprit, processed carbs and vegeteble oils do the real damage. We evolved as the most formidable predator the world has ever seen - what's more likely to be bad for us, animal fats or starches and sugars?

    I'm starting intermittent fasting and have to start a high protein, high fiber, low carb and sugar free diet. My stomach issues are the worst but I'm glad to watch this because I'm getting a bit discouraged. thanks Infographics Show!!! love this content and channel!!!

      You need to concentrate on eating healthy fats. Dont be afraid of saturated fats. Meat, eggs and raw dairy. Especially make sure that your first meal is whole food. If you have to eat something processed have it as second meal.

    When I was diagnosed with COVID last week I woke up one day CRAVING protein! Like, that was all I wanted to eat that day. And I’m someone who loveeesss their carbs, and don’t really eat protein for breakfast, but my body told me otherwise. I guess my body just wanted to heal itself, so eating protein was one of the ways that I could heal.

      I tend to front load my protein @ breakfast; when I had covid back in February I definitely ate a lot of protein. That and raspberries and blackberries like I normally do 😀. Hope you are feeling better 🌞!

    I'm happy this video unpacks the answers to "Does protein help you lose weight" whereas a lot of medical and science professionals will hint at this while kind of saying, "No that's not enough" whereas this video shows how protein effects other parts of your lifestyle frames a healthy lifestyle as way easier to be motivated to do.
    And then I was put off by "Eating more cholesterol can make your cholesterol too high" When this isn't true, cholesterol is raise by a diet too high in sugar and simple/empty carbs and the narrative that fat=bad is what got america to eat more sugar, empty carbs, and highly processed food and create a health epidemic; they did say NOT to cut out carbs and fat, but I think their explanation worked against their message. Eating too much fat and not enough other food group can cause other gastrointestinal issues same of which explained in this video later on

      The body gets more hungry after consuming sugar. Cutting sugar alone will suppress the appetite a bit after about 2 weeks without it.

    I started in 2019, with just cutting calories, focusing on deficit. Lost 15lb my first 2 months, that also included 45-60 minute cardio. 3 years Later im down 43lb, i tried super high protein but cut back and included a little more fat which helped a bit, also including more fruit since i was eating alot of low calorie snacks as well. Mainly oranges and apples, overall my sugar intake is low considering anything i eat is in moderation. Being sedentary as well due to my job, its pretty easy now without worrying how to lose weight.

      @Steve Bermani think you just don't know anything about exercise, cardio burns more carbs faster than resistance training with weights or bands etc so if your trying to lose weight cardio is much more efficient.

      @@romelegionmaker8625 also transfers muscle fibers from type 1 to type 2. Which is going to make you be built like a distance runner. Which a lot of people don’t want. You can’t switch fibers from 2 to 1 only 1 to 2 so once they’re there then they’re there. You shouldn’t do cardio for more than 20 minutes. As soon as endorphins release (15 to 20 mins) you should stop. I also am 6’5 and went from 312 to 247 in 6 months. Doing little to no cardio just weigh training and eating a healthy all around diet after 4 to 5 months of a 600 calorie deficit.

    So I been having grilled chicken tacos as a healthy lunch, avoiding fast food and soda. And for working out, besides working, I play elden ring, and every time I die, I do a plank, a set of push up, and set of squats.

      lots of people seem to forget that rest is as important as a diet or working out . If you arent getting your 7-8 hrs of sleep a night that might be the cause for slower results also its okay to do bodyweight exercises but if you want to build muslce faster you need to get to failure each set and also you body adapts so after a while try other exercises

    I increased my protein intake to 1 gram per pound of body weight not for weight training but to lower my a1c per my doctor. As a side effect I gained a little muscle. I was already doing heavy weight training and got a bonus. Low sugar, high fiber(the worst tasting cereal) low fat and sadly even low carb but not zero carbs.

    Tips for those who don't have a gym membership(young ones especially):
    - do some cardio(aka running) for at least half an hour
    - do 30 jump squats at most, then 60 uneven pushups
    - take cold showers, a LOT of health benefits
    - intermittent fasting(16:8 being the most effective)
    - Make nutritious foods your main diet and cut down on junk/processed foods
    - take 2 rest days so to prevent injury and speed up results in building muscle(I highly recommend on the weekends cuz that's when everyone is laxed)
    - drink plenty of water
    - most importantly, be consistent and don't worry if you'll reach your goal cuz that's when inconsistency occurs.(And ofc if you have some gym equipment in your house use that to your advantage)

      Intermittent fasting is not a good long term diet for a lot of people. Myself being one such person. That diet had me angry and my hair was falling out in clumps. It has some research behind it, but overall the research is sparse and was done in abysmally small test groups. At the end of the day calories in needs to be lower than calories out. That's how you lose weight. If you need to not eat for 16 hours a day to hit a calorie deficit than you probably need to look at what you're eating.

    As a 28 year old lean build fast metabolism man,I think Protein is key to life within us all,I was just telling my coworker about the importance of protein,he doesn't believe it's importance to our body functions. I eat as much protein as possible throughout the day,ex Greek yogurt, organic scrambled eggs,non hormone chicken,rice,lots of peanuts/peanut butter, 12%protein & vitamin chocolate 🍫 drinks,low sodium intake drinks and food,b12,N multi vitamin and Of course lots of water 💧,and good workout,on top of my job requiring me to be in good physical shape,But I definitely have to say I see the difference in my body last few years after drastically changing my diet

    This is nice but I do have to disagree with the last part. Red meat and milk are extremely healthy, and has a much better DIAAS score (a score that determines protein quality) then any other protein, plant protein in particular has extremely low quality.
    Ex: The DIAAS score of beef is 111, while the DIAAS score of rice is 37 (higher is better)
    There same is true for many other plant proteins
    Corn based cereal: 10
    Peas: 58
    Rye: 47.6
    Barley: 47.2
    Wheat: 40.2
    Peas: 58
    Almonds: 40

      So that Diaas score isn't fool proof. It has only been tested on rats. And people forget when you eat plant based proteins yoh generally don't eat it by itself so combining other foods significantly alter the amino acid profile.

      @@kartikey92 I wanted to shred down for summer but I had the same problem. Then I glanced over the kitchen scale and the solution to all my problems was always right in front of me. Weighing stuff like oats, rice and meat make a HUGE difference and you will see a difference in your body composition on a weekly basis. The good thing about it is that after a few weeks you no longer have to put your food on a scale because you become really good at estimating volume and therefore the approximate weight and calories.

    be sure to read the ingredients labels on those "protein" bars. you'll probably find some that have the word "PROTEIN" in huge bold letters across the front of the packaging, and yet so little protein actually in them that they might as well just be candy bars

      "Protein packed!" Includes 3 grams of protein from peanuts.
      It really do be like that sometimes. While there is good protein from nuts you are better off just getting a whole bag of them as opposed to the more pathetic quality health/fitness bars.
      Some of them really are just sugar bars for work out moms who want to feel like they diet/exercise.

      Thankfully a lot of them here in the UK have the amount too on the front of the packet. For example I have these protein yoghurt pouches I take to work with 23g per pouch. I'm basically on around 200g protein a day average. Life of a Strongman competitor is hard 😂

    In the past month I started eating more steak. I just weighed myself this morning. A month ago I was 235lbs this morning I'm down to 220.
    One thing I learned is that when you consume less carbs and more protein and fat your body starts using fat for energy.
    I regularly exercise. I also eat onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms with my steak and eggs. Just one meal a day. I feel amazing

    One thing very important that you missed is that every protein is different. 10 grams of protein from lets say beans or any plant source is NOT equal to 10 grams of protein from eggs or meat. Your words imply that comparing the amount of protein in different foods is the only metric to compare foods, as a matter of fact Biological Value of proteins tends to be of much importance as well. Therefore not all medical professionals claim what you said at 14:45 . Plant based protein needs to be consumed in much more quantity( which depends on amount as well as BV of protein in the food ) and carefully chosen based on the essential amino acids present in them since many plant sources lack one or the other EAA. I do agree that animal fat in meat is bad and also meat lacks vitamins and minerals, but vitamins and minerals can be supplemented and lean meat is an option.

      Switching from plant sourced protein to animal & animal byproduct sources dramatically improved my liver function and helped me to gain strength. Since I have uncontrolled hypothyroidism with resistance to levothyroxine, I have to really restrict how much I eat to keep the weight off that I lost. So it was impossible to gain muscle mass without gaining back excess fat with the plant sourced protein because I would need to eat even more to make the protein complete. Drinking ultra filtered milk daily and eating red meat a couple times a week helped me to lose a few more pounds while also being able to lift heavier at the gym. Wish I would’ve known about complete vs incomplete protein when I first lost all the weight a few years ago. I could only imagine how much better I would’ve been feeling all those years.

    I know someone who ate chicken almost everyday, he didn’t like beef or pork because his teeth were in bad shape. He started to get sores and bad skin and chronic stomach problems. I suspected that it was malnutrition and told him to take a vitamin supplement and after just a couple of weeks his problems disappeared.

    As an American, when I hear "talk to your doctor..." I just tune it out because talking to my doctor about anything is going to cost me thousands of dollars with insurance. Any sort of blood test to evaluate my diet options is going to be hundreds more for each test. How is this the case?

      I get a physical and blood work done every year and it's included in my insurance. My problem is, when I get the blood work back I don't know what the numbers mean and my doctor just says, eat better and exercise. Thanks, doc. I'm not sure how much more I can exercises as I'm already doing that four and five days a week. I am trying to eat better though. As an American, we need a better healthcare system.

    I was tweaking for several years and weighed about 130ish and gained about 30 lbs but couldn't gain much more weight. Starting working at a saw mill and was drinking a gallon of milk in a 8 hour shift 5 days a week and gained about 20 lbs in 2 months and got pretty muscular.

    i ate like 110g of protein on average as a highschooler, on 7 hours of sleep, I was able to stay awake through the day, just include 40g of protein per meal, this can be done through including one meat, fish, 200g of yogurt, or lentils per meal with anything else really

    I dropped 30lbs in 60-70 days high protein and low calories / 1 big meal a day and only small protein in-between…Workout 4x a week with 1-2 days rest,so I could push harder the next day. The only way I could lose weight!

    Important thing with tuna guys, be careful to not overeat it. Tuna has mercury in it, low dosage but high compared to other fish, eat it in regulation. The FDA recommends max 2 cans, but it's not that strict, just look at the can and look for Skipjack (Katsuwonus pelamis), I would recommend eating max 600g a week but for children even less.

    I doubt I should be talking cause I'm very over weight. Yet somehow I'm still "healthy", meaning my LDL is low, my resting heart rate is 58, and I maintain a average blood pressure, while being highly overweight. I think it's due to the variation of my diet, and relative high activity. People get pretty surprised when they see a 400 pound man bench press 360 pounds, leg press over 1,000 pounds and able to cycle 3 miles at the same trip to the gym. The key is to have a balanced and varied diet, along with vegerus activity. This doesn't keep me skinny, it keeps me healthy.

    I tore my acl and had surgery and had before put on a good amount of muscle and always ate a lot of nutrients and calories and during that process I ate a lot of protein and dairy and I feel like it has helped me heal faster than what I have spent had I not eaten that way

    The weakend bones do happen, but not when you just eat high proteins but also eat no carbs. That's the keto diet. Study's have found that people who do/did keto diet have higher chance of bone fracture and lower your bone density

    But the problem with plant based protein purely from a muscle building standpoint, the “quality” of protein is lesser and you’ll need to eat more of plant protein or a lot more variety to make up for the missing amino acids. Imo, it’s better to have animal protein as your main source while keeping a variety of fruits and veggies for the micros and not necessarily for the protein

    My mom had her big toe nail torn out twice and increased her protein intake after both times and her nail grew back quicker with the protein. I have a black cat that has ripped out all the claws on his back foot and got him high protein dry food. I looked online and they said it would take about 2 months to notice any nail growth, but within 3 weeks I noticed him getting nubs back.

    I started trying to eat more protein in my diet a few months ago because I wanted to snack less eat less junk food and I read in the multiple places on the internet that a diet rich in protein keeps you fuller for longer it also better for muscle growth and repair and maintaining a healthy weight and so far over the past months it has been working though due to unforeseen circumstances it is hard to eat enough protein due to financial constraints.

      I recommend looking into cheaper alternatives. Such as whole wheat pasta, lentils, pumpkin seeds, beans, and greek yoghurt, and you will only have to eat meat occasionally to receive all the essential amino acids for building muscle.

      I never heard that kidney stones would be caused by a diet high in natural protein sources. In fact, most medical articles I've read cite foods high in oxalic acids, like spinach, cause kidney stones. The only study I've ever found that stated that high protein diets cause problems is one where they gave the test subjects a lab-created protein goo. Studies that tried to duplicate the results but used real food found no such problems.

    I remember when high protein diets were considered the proper way to lose weight in the late 1960s to early 1970s. After 1973 I remember that high protein diets were not considered healthy. It looks like high protein diets are back.

    Thanks for this information it explains a lot about my body now I've been on a high protein diet since I a kid and now I'm 21 years old and for the longest time I've always wondered why I put on muscle so fast whenever I did work out and why my metabolism was so high and why I also could do nothing but sit and then i just start sweating for the longest time I was actually calling my own body a walking heater in the winter time when it's 28F degrees I'm walking around outside with a short sleeve shirts and jeans or shorts because I'm so hot thanks for the informational video it was very helpful in figuring out an understanding my own body

    Been on a high animal protein, full fat dairy, high veggie low carb diet for a year now. Snacking on protein bars and different kinds of nuts. And have a daily stretch and training routine which is part of my life now just like a daily task. And yes if I am on a party I try to fish out the high protein snacks and if it is not possible then yes most of the time I’m already full because of my intake. Also it is very easy to maintain and for my age I still move and look like in mid teen years. Even out run lift my peers. The only downside is that it is more expensive but if that’s the only down to the more pluses I don’t. The biggest plus may be that women in general notice a man who cares for his physique. Which leaves me to the biggest upside; young and older woman tend to rub on shoulders more often now a days and I am not even that tall with a six figure salary. Just a normal dude with good looks and strong (non)verbal communication. Cheers guys

    Personally I eat about 100 g of protein a day. I have found it to be perfectly enough for me. I have lost so much weight (amongst other things like weightlifting, working out, fasting, lower calorie intake, etc.) but still.

      I think people overestimate the amount of protein they need, including some athletic people and trainers. I see people giving advice that you need to be eating 2-3 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight even for beginners when the real number is closer to 1g per kg for most people, around 1.5 for people who work out a ton, and 2 is close to the max for even most serious bodybuilders. Conversely many people also tend to underestimate fat and dont realize its good to still keep a certain level of fat in your diet, you just need to make sure its healthy fat and not just fat from donuts.
      There's a video " How Much Protein You Really Need (According to Science)" by the channel Institute of Human Anatomy where a professional Anatomist talks about protein requirements and breaks things down really well showing how much protein you really need for what level of activity and what you're training for (body building, marathon runner, etc).

    Yeah I actually started eating protein bars at night at work so it can give me the energy to stay up and on top of my body moving I feel like I'm losing weight because my body is burning off that excess energy from the bar. Im sweating more often and when I go to sleep and wake up I do sit ups and I can feel my stomach tighten then I eat a 500 calories breakfast with eggs to get my protein.

    Thing about protein and other foods is bioavailability. Most plan based protein sources are not the same as meat counter part because they don't have the same bioavailability

    I started my diet last year. 11/27/2023. I was 165lbs. Today im 128lbs. And 291 days into my diet. The main thing i cut out was BEEEEER. HORRIBLE. 291 days sober too! I can run 2 miles without rest in 20 mins and om loving my life again.

    I’ve just got back into the gym after a few years off. Been really disciplined with my diet this time. I eat tuna, salmon, chicken breast and fruit every day 💪

      Same! Today is day 26 for me. I bought Muscle Milk brand from Amazon that contains 50g of protein. Highly recommend for an easier protein consumption without need to eat bigger portions.

    The problem with a high protein diet is that it overworks your kidney, which is bad for you long term. Another thing is that it raises your uric acid levels to the point that you get arthritis and gout earlier in life. Protein does have some benefits among other things, however it puts you at risk of kidney disease if you consume too much. Which is why body builders actually take supplements and vitamins that help their kidney and they do it off camera because protein just wears out your kidney faster

      No body builder ever mentions anything like that. Even science based ones like Jeff Nippard. Gonna keep stacking on the protein. Sounds like long dated information you're pushing.

      All that matters is calories, doesn’t matter what or when (as long as you get enough protein)

    It has worked for me. I'm now 54 and last year I lost 45 lbs and have KEPT it off doing a high protein diet (which is Atkins, NOT keto).
    IMO you should be eating like 1.2-1.5g of protein per kg of body weight. A lot of studies imply 0.8 but I think that's too low.
    You also left out the fact that there are several amino acids that are ONLY found in meat. So you vegans and even vegetarians are missing out.

    You are extremely so right and since I am slowly working out to build my six pack abs,increase my height and build my muscles,I must only have these meals excluding non vegetarian meals as I am slowly turning into a vegan which I must do daily and ever in this world and other planets,good friend!!:-D

      Training won't increase your height you may gain muscle yes but height is purely genetic.

    Interesting that other sources tell us to get 0.8-1.2g of protein per lb of weight. I am trying to build muscle and have been doing 1g per lb of weight with some success.
