My heart reaches out to Alexandra, that girl has more patience than anyone I’ve ever seen. She gave the floor to people, said to them “I think you had something that you wanted to say” fully let them say their piece, but when she tried to speak her piece was interrupted most the time. @@Hiiiiiiiiiiilol when she was talking too long and people were trying to address each point her addressable points were forgotten. She kind of threw everything off to me.
i feel so awful for wylan. it's just so shocking that her parents were so disgusting that they were more worried ab people finding out that the baby was his rather than caring about her safety and well being
I’ve met someone who was impregnated by their father when they were 13, and it depends on the person, of course, but she said she didn’t regret giving birth, she was actually upset that her mom gave the child up and her and her mom’s relationship is terrible now. My grandpa had two girlfriends whose parents took them to Detroit for an abortion unbeknownst to my grandpa, the girlfriends only going through with what their parents told them. Sad that parents can encourage their child to make such a life-altering, possibly world-altering, choice and even more sad that she felt she had to go through with it when one of them at least felt horribly about the whole experience. I’m tired of the lie that abortion doesn’t effect men, and I’m tired of the ridiculous argument that even if it didn’t, we shouldn’t have a say…

it literally sickened me how constance talked to alexandra. when she was describing her abortion, how she was grieving, and how it felt for her, and then constance cut her off and said “did you know that a baby has a heartbeat at 5 weeks?”. there was absolutely not respect towards her, which is just sad.
That’s just plain misinformation at 5 weeks if you are able to see a heart beat it is actually a group of around 200 cells and it is around 4-5 mm across, calling this a “baby” is wrong scientifically.
Constance probably somehow unconsciously regret her decision to marry so young and being pregnant so she talked down to the others to make her feel better
Constance had absolutely no empathy towards Alexandra while she was sharing one of her hardest experiences, on a public platform and she kept shutting people down dismissing their opinions. How rude
Why would she? Going through a hard experience doesn't justify her decisions and reasoning. That was her entire argument outside the usual silly bodily autonomy argument she made. Constance was immature but so was Alexandra, just in different ways. At least Constance made a couple solid points goinded in logic. Everything Alexandra said was grounded in selfishness.

i'm actually apalled when wylan talked about being sexually abused at a very young age-young enough to not know what was happening to her body, and constance reponds with "what about the unborn child" without so much as thinking about how wylan *WAS* also a child in that situation! a child that could have been forced to carry ANOTHER child to full term. that is something that i genuinely feel is horrifying and was not even close to being made out to be as horrifying and gut churning as it is when it was over looked so quickly and insensitively instead of actually digesting it even when wylan implies she was very young.
@@bogartmotomoto8222 agree, but Wylan ABSOLUTELY takes priority over her fetus, because how can we expect a healthy life for the fetus (if it does grow up) if Wylan herself is a child, still developing? It creates an unhealthy cycle.

There is no way this subject will ever come to an agreement. I don't like that they think abortion is health care.. Teens parents must be notified, because complications do happen.. Your a child you need your parents.
@overlordfemto7523 There ain't no baby. No I do not think a little blood clot is the same as a full term baby. Yes, you can love it and have feelings about it, but it isn't the same as having a whole child ripped away from you.
its crazy how insensitive constance was. imagine a girl talking about her experience and getting teary eyed and then throwing the heartbeat thing in her face. smh
It is the truth, the heartbeat thing is real. Whether or not it is complex life, it is still a fact. If you can't handle the heat get out of the kitchen.
I think thats the point. One of the pro choicers made the argument that different developmental stages in humans result in different amounts of rights, where kids can't drink etc., but it actually is a pro-life argument, because the system is put in place to say that because children are less developed, it is the law's duty to PROTECT them, because they can't protect themselves (even though in this case it's protecting them from thier own drinking habits).
When it comes down to it, would you save a barely formed life or a woman (or someone capable of giving birth) who has conscious thoughts, desires, memories, and aspirations? I’m just saying, one won’t care if it doesn’t live anymore, but the other has a lot more to lose
Hearing Wylan share that she was groomed and raped by a family member and then Constance responding with the phrase "people get into the situation of pregnant" is absolutely repulsive.
@@KoolAidSquirt And what's that you are adding to the conversation with that statement? That maybe when she was a child it didn't feel like rape because she didn't know better? What?

@JonJon Theres actually no way you chose to respond to her comment like that, read it over, and still decided to post it, you are disgusting and you have never felt the touch of a woman.
The way Constance tried to guilt Alexandra about her abortion even after she stated she mourned that unborn baby's life by saying " You know it had a heartbeat." is so low.
I really don't think she was guilting her. Alexandra said her baby wasn't a living thing, and Constance pointed out that having a heartbeat is a really hard-to-argue point of being a living thing.
@@donutpete The point is it's up the woman herself. You think its a human at conception, they think its a human way later down the pregnancy. And you said it yourself, its an opinion, so they get to chose if they want an abortion or not. And you can't control someone's life. You may think it's human, but it's barely a human. It doesn't feel, doesn't think, doesn't see, or hear, it doesn't have emotions, it doesn't have a conscience, it doesn't have morals, and all these things define what a human is. And that clump of cells you have in your stomach at the beginning of pregnancy has none of it. So whether you think it's human or not, is completely irrelevant. Because at the end of the day, it's not YOUR BODY, so you don't get to control them.

She really is. I do believe she was just stating that statistic to help her achieve her point, however. But since she was very disrespectful and arrogant during this video, the statistic that she stated seemed to add onto a disgusted feeling for her instead of “helping” her, while her point is true.
This only shows your selective hearing problems. She was arguing that point as it pertains to informing THE PARENTS before the abortion. The point was there are parents who lost their child and didn't even know until they were dead and it was completely preventable IF SOMEONE HAD JUST TOLD THEM. Then at least they would know.

@Nombre Also she used thought experiments and key writings on abortion to base her arguments. Yet managed to explain them in such a succint and clear way - showing she actually understands them well. One of them was the bodily autonomy argument/thought experiment proposed by Judith Thomson, which you can look up. The other side had nothing comparable and just kept making the same arguments over and over - never addressing her points, i.e. Alexandra explained that there are occasions where doctors recognise there is a life but determine someone as brain dead and the law allows them to unplug them from the machines keeping them alive. The other side did not respond to this argument, they just kept repeating their own. She really was great - even if you don’t agree with her points.

I think a better solution would be to make better life decisions. Abortion is a massive undertaking/problem either way you look at it. Accountability is often dodged if women choose to have an abortion while fatherhood is completely nullified. Two people make the baby, and the least we could do is allow both parties to make such a destructive decision. Outliers do, of course, exist. Rape, incest, possible harm to the mother are all exceptions and should be looked at case by case. I personally believe every conceived child deserves their own chance to make something with life. It is often something we undermine but life while it can be cruel, it can also be beautiful.
@@nedajenyapSo women who don't want to have a child should be factories for babies to be adopted, that makes so much sense. There are many ways to help people who can't conceive to have a child nowadays in case you didn't know

Outliers do, of course, exist. i wanna see doctors and scientists talk about this topic, it’d be very interesting to see what [well] educated people have to say about it.
It would be the same. There is no logical way to justify abortion. Pro life scientists would do what the pro life teens did here. Completely dismantle them
Most of them make money off of it so they are going to have bias
It would have to be fully anonymous and even then I've had provate conversations about stuff like this with brilliant psychologists and they'd never risk it. Damage to your reputation as a doctor is devastating, especially amongst your patients and fellow doctors. More conflicts of interest only make for less honest conversations.
It would be interesting because there would definitely be a focus in that conversation that surprisingly wasn't discussed in this video. Cases of non viability outside of the womb, risk of fetal demise, ectopic pregnancies. Even with the consideration of fetuses as living beings medical personnel are always discussing ethics surrounding life and death even with birthed individuals.
that’s what I said!!!
Constance is the kind of woman to get married straight out of high school, have a child, and not have an actual job🤣
Absolutely agreed like?
Being a mother isn’t an actual job? Lol.
@@sarahs.9678 It's a responsibility, but it's not an actual paying job. No.
Literally
