Sheesh 100k..this thing will glue itself to the dealer lot.
Are you serious!? If you weren't bitching about the insanely overpriced Cybertruck you have nothing to say here.
@@screenPhiles We aren’t talking about the Cyber truck are we? And yes I think it has some pricing problems too.
@@Mountainbaseddweller Speaking of what we're not talking about, why shouldn't they charge that? You know, beyond you not thinking they should? Looking at what you're getting, I don't think they're screwing anyone over.
@@screenPhiles must be nice to be able to afford a 100k vehicle. Well hmm you could buy a fully loaded 3500 dually Duramax for the same price or less..way more capable. You aren’t getting more capability here with the ev, in fact you get less.
Plenty of rich dumb people in this world.
I'll buy it in 3 years after the 70% depreciation.
Won’t take 3 years, have you seen how these ev values are plummeting? Just wait a year 😅
Battery's may be shot by then.
@@Greenwashedhipppie that's just BS
Have to add my 3 cents in as well.
US government requires a minimum 8 year 100,000 mile warranty on battery packs put into passenger vehicles.
Most will still be under warranty for 4 years or more. So if the battery dies before that, it will be free....
Really nice truck. Largest battery pack in the industry. If it sells for much less than what it does now, in its current configuration, Chevy will lose their shirts.
@@Greenwashedhipppie would still be covered by warranty if they are. Hence the 3 years.
They said sooooo hard this isn't an Avalanche when we first saw pictures and renderings. It Totally should be an Avalanche 2.0 it's same formula, minus a gas engine, add an EV drivetrain.
It’s definitely an electric avalanche. 🤷🏼♂️

It's an avalanche 100% The rear gate glass system is exactly the same besides the big twist knobs to hold the glass in. Even the headlight is a updated version of the cladded avalanche the turn signals were on top of the headlights. All it needs is the side pockets on the bed and the hard bed covers
No way $100K screw these companies
Agree. Make EV trucks luxury items then complain that they aren't selling. 😂
I think this is maybe aimed at the folks buying a $150,000 Airstream Classic. Wait a year of two and buy used.
@@davidcottrell570 the used market already collapsed for EV. No one wants them except the fanbois, and they're the only ones buying new ones to replace their old.
@@zarrothNot where I live. We have major taxes which are zero for used EVs. Works like a charm. But then, I’m guessing you don’t have an EV. All cars depreciate. A lot. Dealers are taking a bigger cut, because they make so little on new cars. But you want to convince yourself a gas or diesel is a better deal. Good luck with that…
Well people bitch about the towing and range problems of the Lightning… you defeat some of those problems by cramming in a bigger battery and raising the price accordingly. And then you need more HP to move the weight, heavier duty frame and tires to carry it… battery/energy storage tech is the problem.

It would be interesting to see what the discounts and rebates will be.
That's already here. Truck prices are ridiculous.
Rocket mortgage and Fannie Mae
I’ll need 30 😂
Keep in mind, this is the RST trim ( basically as top of the line/flashy/sporty trim as they plan to make). In that context it isn't too crazy when stacked against the competition of a raptor, fully loaded cyber truck or fully optioned Rivian (and in this config it is I would argue a better "truck" than any of those).
Will be waiting to see what it retails for in lower spec trims.
lol none of those are selling either.
Exactly. And in the video they talk about a Silverado EV LT, which would be cheaper.
The Silveraodo RS EV is not that vehicle.
@Chett_Manly Maybe, maybe not. I don't claim to know that everyone who can purchase a Cybertruck or Silverado RS EV is rich (especially since financing exists and I doubt every expensive vehicle you see on the road, of which there are many, are driven by a rich people) though seeing that the Silverado, unlike the Cybertruck, can do anything a ICE Silverado can do, that you call it a 'toy' is really interesting.
@Chett_Manly Do you think any GM dealer will let these go for under $120 while they still have the first rush of buyers?
@Chett_Manly define "style".
It's the only EV that has acceptable range for a truck imo. I don't personally like the pass-through but I understand why others would. 100k is a psychological barrier I'm not ready to cross for a truck yet. I'm at the point of my life I can do it financially but mentally... not so much.
Rivian has 410 miles with its R1T dual motor and aero wheel setup...solid range already exists.
I dream of a plain-ass truck for $50k. No frills. Just truck.
This thing is really cool, but not serviceable, limited overall life, and a bunch of expensive
features that are frivolous.
@@Factory400In your opinion 😊
@@LafemmebearMusic the comments section is a place for opinions. Thanks for pointing that out.
@Factory400 just curious, why do you say it's not serviceable? One of the big focuses of Ultium was to make an accessible and repairable battery pack
I’d purchase over the Cybertruck any day. But for me I prefer HD trucks with diesel powertrains. It makes more sense to me from a value standpoint.
A Diesel pluginhybrid would be great!
One thing worth considering - when you are NOT on the highway with your big trailer or boat, what is your consumption, range and the cost of running? Charging at home, putting 180kw into the pack, you’re spending about $25 perhaps? When you are on the road with a big trailer, you still have a range of about 220 miles, and it will cost about $100-$120 to charge. If you are ONLY carrying big loads or towing for a living , sure, a diesel in a truck is worth it. But this seems an honest effort to meet the needs of regular truck owners, albeit with a lot of fancy stuff to justify such a price without the ‘looking at me’ styling. And with spiralling costs for fuel and service, perhaps it might make a few people think about electric trucks as more than toys.
@@davidcottrell570A good point, but it should be mentioned that with a 200kwh battery, you will definitely need to opt for a very high current charger at home if you want the option to go from 0-100 in less than a day.
@@fastindy Either you have access to a 3 phase 21.9kW/h service (100 amps), you charge at 40-50%, or fast charge and then top up at home. A 50 amp single phase charger will deliver 130kW before losses in 12 hours or so. The truck makes sense for people who tow a lot. Kyle on Out of Spec has tested all of them, and the GM was top dog, wth 800 volt charging and a huge range. I still like the mid-sized Rivian the best, but none of them are cheap.
As an owner of a GMC 3500 AT4, the 100k price tag and 9000lb curb weight is very familiar. For a lot of applications for trucks, this truck or something a little more 4x4 friendly, would be my preferred option. Getting that much in bed power and battery size sufficient to get to the job site and be good all day, I’d be a happy man.
Lmfao
1500lb payload is ridiculous, the Honda Ridgeline has about the same lol
It has a 2500 lb payload but 1000 lbs of that is battery cells so you don't get to use it.
Try it in that Ridgeline and see how it does LoL!
high trim V8 gas only has about 1500lbs of payload too. Go with a lower trim package and you'll pick up a couple hundred more pounds.
That’s what happens when your vehicle is 9000 pounds. 😂 it is comical how little this thing can hold.
@@niceguyrides Payload is great but 1/2 is battery.
The further we move into the future, the less excited I am for trucks.
I own a Chevy Bolt and love EVs but $100k is insane. I'm not sure EV can work for trucks without significant breakthroughs (price reduction) in battery tech.
How about 96k?
That's why they should be going with PHEVs like the Volt. I put 120k on my 2012 and probably only 30k was on the engine.
If you're not towing heavy, any EV truck on the market will suit 95% of buyers. As a contractor I'm driving across town, or maximum 50 miles one way. Especially with access to the Tesla network, they recharge very quickly.
@@otm646 Very true. Driving with a full load in the bed doesn't affect range by much.

Honestly a new gasser RST can run 70k decked out so I’m not shocked by the 100k price for a completely new model with new tech. In a few years I’m sure the prices will come down via incentives and rebates.

Being someone who has been pretty closed minded when it comes to Electric Trucks this is the first real truck the one close to the gas ones we drive , Other then price . Truck prices are out of control but over 100 k kind of defeats the purpose of the truck. I am curious what the two year old used ones are going to depreciate to with batteries lasting about 10 years it make that new price sounding even higher.
For now i think pluginhybrid Pickuptrucks are the best solution!
The depreciation is already happening. I'm even seeing brand new unsold 2023 F-150 lightning platinum editions listing with $20K knocked off the MSRP.
There's also one-owner low mileage lightning pro's listing for $39K now.
You do know there's alot of trucks that cost 100k gas and electric
I’m impressed with the pass through and the storage of the back glass
I absolutely love this vehicle and I will state that GM/Chevrolet has hit a home run in the truck EV space. This EV is a beautiful-looking, EV-Truck both in and out. To me GM has the market cornered in all market segments. Thank you for doing a great job in creating this content, as always, you hit a home run with you're knowledgeable and professionalism.

Does this vehicle come with a heat pump to warm batteries during winter?
It uses ULTIUM ENERGY RECOVERY SYSTEM which includes a heat pump to do that and more.
When you say "sorry for the grass" when reviewing a truck that Chevy wants to market as "tough," it's not helping GM's messaging.
$100k is laughable.

That is a heavy beast!
What's the port under the hood with the fire fighters helmet sign for? Is that where they squirt the water when it catches fire?
Will this do autosteer+adaptive cruise on city streets? Or is it just for major roads?
GM Supercruise (hands-free steering) does not operate on city streets, and was never intended to. Adaptive cruise control works anywhere independently of Supercruise, you do the steering, you're responsible for stopping at stop signs and traffic signals, you're still expected to drive.
This truck is nuts. Too expensive, too heavy. Since EV trucks can’t tow (for distance) anyway, why not build a Maverick sized EV truck for $40k, and give up on towing more than utility trailers? Leave the 10,000# trailers to the diesels.
Because it can, doesn’t mean you need to. 90% of the people with trucks around me never do truck things or can’t due to “cosmetic” choices.
Too heavy? What is it too heavy for? Y’all say anything 🤡
How far do you tow? Probably not as far as this Chevy can tow
@@TxChristophermany people tow camp trailers much more that the 150-200 miles this could likely achieve while towing. My 82kwh pack in my model 3 takes 30 minutes in a perfect situation to put 60kwh in. It can take over an hour. Tesla chargers are far better that your typical EV charger, too.
My m3 averages 250wh/mi. This truck while towing is going to be north of 1kwh/mi. So, if you drive it down to 10%, then charge up to 80% on a road trip, it’ll be close to 90 minutes before you are back on the road. Imagine doing that every 150 miles. You’d make similar time on a camping trip in a Conestoga wagon.
I love it and look forward to SUV iterations of this.
Thanks, Andre! Pretty much the only time someone will need to work about public charging in this truck is if they are taking a long trip or towing more than a couple hundred miles.
100k Silverado EV > 100k Cybertruck
Only because you used the CT in a comparison.
What do you think the dealers will tack onto this truck?
How much is GM going to lose on each one they sell.
Fortune "GM’s quarterly gains were led by its popular SUVs and gas-powered car lines, while producing EVs continues to lose the company money."
@@danharold3087 No, it's because cybertuck is dangerous to even use, is built to the quaility of a go-cart which makes it far inferior to everything else on the road. You need to take them rose colored glasses off and look at it critically. CT is a failure for anyone capable of logic and reason.
Hmmm Cybertruck had more payload and better towing numbers and is faster..Silverado only has better range. Silverado is severely heavy too.
@@Mountainbaseddweller range is king with EV trucks when doing truck things. Cybertruck loses
@@danharold3087 OK, a home truth about EVs. Everyone likes to complain about how much manufacturers lose on every EV they build. Ever ask yourself why? It isn’t the cost of manufacture, raw materials or what have you. It’s the cost of developing a new platform and technology. And the companies don’t necessarily bleed red ink - GM writes off the cost of development against profits from other business lines, zeroing out taxes. Do you think GM is in danger of going bankrupt because they’re building out their EV product? They realize that they can’t afford to get left behind in the tech stakes, and are building out the halo Silverado RST first. No point complaining about it costing too much. If it’s too expensive, buy used.
I see alota people who were Avalanche owners...will probably look at these trucks with interest..see what happens
Having it under a hundred is way better than i thought. I swear they were saying 115 previously. Still expensive but now it's in line with top of the line ice trucks.
yeah but you can't compare this to a loaded 100k 2500HD diesel, different class of vehicle. Compared to a gas or diesel silverado 1500, it is overpriced by about 35k.
All of the other top of the line trucks will last twice as long.
I'm probably in the minority but I always estimate the life cycle cost for my daily drivers and my work vehicles. That cost includes maintenance estimates and fuel. For EVs, I always charge them at home, and I (try to) never do road trips (if I want to do road trips, I'd buy a fuel burning vehicle).
Most of the time I drive my vehicles at least 300,000 km (~190,000 miles) and end up having them towed to a scrap yard for a couple hundred dollars (going into my pocket).
I haven't run the numbers for the Silverado EV, but I'll do a quick estimate here.
The results show I'd save over $90,000 in fuel costs with the EV.
Read on for my "quick calc"...
With EVs charged at home, I pay ~$0.12/kWh, including all fees and taxes.
Fuel cost wise, that means for a typical full fill up, it would cost around 190kWhx$0.12 = $22.80. A full charge provides about 450 miles or 720 km. That works out to approximately $0.03167/km. A typical gasoline powered pickup truck costs about $0.45/km here in Canada.
Over the 300,000 km (190,000 mile) life, a typical ½ton pickup will go through about $100,000 of gasoline and the Silverado EV will only go through about $9500 of electricity.
As long as it is charged at home and during low price hours, the Silverado EV will save a lot of money compared to driving a gasoline powered ½ton....
In the background you can see your money going up in smoke.
The average person keeps their car at least 8 years, anyone who buys cars and sells them in 2-3 years isn't very bright. Imagine all the money you waste in taxes alone.
The depreciation won't matter when you trade your EV in 8-10 years with 100,000+ miles, especially when you take into account how cheap it is to operate them.
Not if you own a business that generates more than 100K revenue and requires lots of a travel. You can essentially write off the entire cost of the truck from your tax liabilities. My floor tile guy recently went to a Ford dealer and bought the most expensive top trip F-350 on the lot for the same write off reason.
It will be interesting to see it how it stacks up against the Ford lighting. Especially range test and range testing towing.
It blows the lightning away in towing range, Out of Spec tested them together.
@@Icayn range is the most important thing with Ev more than straight line performance.
Out of spec towed 250 miles towing a Tesla model 3 thru Colorado in in a mixture of driving situations even some snow. It blew away all the others in range. Also without towing the work truck model can hit 500 miles as Andre in this video has mentioned. TH-camr Jerry rig Everything tested this RS and got over 460 miles of range in regular driving. This is likely more aerodynamic and has a heat pump which also boost efficiency a bit

Tesla decided to use stainless steel for the Cybertruck for some reason, so they really can't change much about the styling. They're going to use a completely different material to build it if they really want it to look good. The other downside of using stainless steel is that it can rust like other types of steel. It's already happening to a number of Cybertrucks.

Best EV truck out there. Chevrolet knows how to combine truck capability with an electric platform at works. Love the midgate feature making a comeback.
Unlike Tesla’s “truck” (it’s not even close by a long distance) is absolutely hideous, no where close to loo like a truck. If it can’t be used as a truck, it’s not a truck.

Rube Goldberg midgate contraption!
100k is nearly what I paid for my house 14 years ago. These manufacturers are hell bent on not selling these vehicles in mass (because some fools will buy them). I loved my avalanche and would totally be in the market for this vehicle but not for anything above 60k brand new. Also this would be killer as a plug-in hybrid similar to what ram will be bringing out.
With jump starting another vehicle, does that other vehicle have to be electric for the process to work?
No, it's a plain ordinary nominal 12 volt electrical system with a plain ordinary lead-acid battery same as any other car. Jump-start away.
It's a shame they don't make a hybrid version!
They make a diesel version that gets better fuel economy than a hybrid would in a truck. 27mpg highway in the 3.0L mini duramax.
The new Ramcharger will be the way to go for that
For those complaining about the price, have you priced a new HD diesel? With all the options, they are coming in at the same lofty price. At least this EV can do truck things the CT and Rivian can not.
Same price range as a raptor r or ram trx to.
As a Tesla Model S owner for about 7 years I can say without hesitation this thing will eat those low profile tires up. tires are my only significant expense and this truck is nearly twice as heavy and nearly twice the psi. Avoid potholes at all costs in this truck.
Looks great but I would want more regular tires I think.
Any idea why the wheel wells in the bed are asymmetrical? I don't know why that bothers me (slightly)...
$100,000 is the new normal for speced up trucks. If it had a Stallantis badge, it would cost $150,000
$470 a tire that only last 10k miles
If you can afford the truck I don't think the tire cost is an obstacle.
My Model 3 saved me around $1000.00 in the first six months of driving which ended up being roughly 9,000 miles. The savings in not buying gas alone is huge, then you save on oil changes too so yes you go through tires a little faster but your saving everywhere else including the brakes that hardly get used so those last much longer. I would compare the tire wear to an ICE sports car with the softer compounds that wear faster. This is a nice looking truck but they are charging the truck premium on top of the high end EV premium, few will even begin to be able to afford one.
It's premature to declare what the life of the tires is going to be. That said, this depends enormously on driving habits. If you're an idiot with the accelerator pedal, and you have 800 horsepower on tap, tires aren't going to last. Would you prefer the vehicle had less power so that it accelerated slower so that the tires lasted longer? You can do that, by not stepping so hard on the accelerator pedal ...
Why do you feel these tires will wear out any faster than on an ICE truck of equivalent weight?
Unless you doing 0 to 60 runs to impress your buds.

The price seems fair considering the equipment and battery size. I wonder if GM makes a profit on these...
While I hope so I don't see anything that would make me think so. In April GM more or less said the EVs were dragging them down.
GM said all of their Ultium EVs would have positive margin from day one. This is why they are starting with the most expensive trims first, as they ramp up. They expect their EV division to be turning profits by later this year.
@@cypvh74 Companies say a lot of things. It does not work out that way. GM recently said EVs we dragging down the company profits. GM opted for big battery pickups which have the best range, especially for towing. But another 100 KWh of cells puts the day when they are profitable further off. Their decision. We will see if towing range is the most important metric.

The Cybertruck will likely settle at a much more competitive price point, and it's actually quite well received in the physical world. I like what GM has done here for the most part, but the really big battery comes with a handful of problems that won't be good for long-term ownership.
@@kenhiett5266 As far as reliability, one should be able to easily follow the the 20-80% rule with this truck's battery. 80% will deliver 350 miles for every day usage. Then charge to 100% right before you go on a longer trip. The lithium chemistry should remain healthy at those daily charge settings.
That's why I always believe in getting the largest battery available, so you can both maintain long term health and still achieve your daily needs.
@@joemcdonough7509 The other competitors in the segment have plenty of range for daily. If you're the rare exception who's buying an EV to tow heavy things at distance on a regular basis, then I agree the GM makes sense, but I would argue this is unnecessarily inefficient for the vast majority. Lugging that massive battery everywhere you go is hard on everything (especially the tires), and it makes this a really poor choice for doing anything off-road.

Good looking design, my last new leased truck was a 2022, can't see justifying price of another new one in the future at this point. After a few years of 100k price tags I’m actually almost accepting it, what stops me dead in my tracks is the F¥cking 9,000 $ license and registration fees 😢
Probably more than that in Mississippi.
In Virginia, you’d be paying $3000 a year in personal property tax.
This is a 1000 times better than the Cybertruck. 100000 sounds ridiculous but since a gas Denali is is only about 15k from that.
I like the design and the market will decide if it’s worth $100,000. People are already paying crazy amounts of money for trucks so who knows. Although it’s a little late to the party it does things that the other EV trucks don’t do in terms of the range and mid gate giving it a longer bed. This is a nice intro but doesn’t really show off the truck as we didn’t see the 4 wheel steering. It probably makes sense for them to come out with the top of the line version first, but I think with an electric truck you should just forget about long distance towing and have a smaller battery and the normal 250 - 300 mile range until they can do it with less battery. If you need to tow long distance stick to an ICE one. The cyber truck looks pitiful in comparison to me.
I think electric trucks with this much range will start changing people’s minds about electric trucks not being practical. 440mi range or 250mi towing a big trailer like TFL showed in a separate video, that’s more than my old F150 can do with a 24gallon tank. And, I bet it feels great while towing. I prefer the look of the GMC over the Chevy though, not a big fan of the bed sails.
Lot's of range and features... certainly looks like a better value than the Cybertruck. My initial thoughts are I love the available displays... large screens, digital rear view mirror and a heads up! Tesla dropped the ball on that... I also like the storage and power and more important for now... Hands Free driving at delivery... better value in terms of pricing... excluding dealer markups... GM might actually finally be catching up or getting ahead.
Beautiful truck much better and useful than the expensive CyberFailure 😀
Yes much more useful with 1500 lbs of payload vs Cybertruck's 2500 lbs /s
@@boostav enjoy that 75 miles of towing range with that cybertruck.
@@firebirdlover4460 As opposed to the 130 miles of towing on the Silverado? If you need to tow long distances you don't buy an EV truck, period.
@@boostav the Silverado gets over 200 miles towing.
@@firebirdlover4460 Tell me you have no idea what you're talking about without telling me you have no idea what you're talking about. Towing range depends on the type of trailer being towed, a Silverado getting 200 miles means a Cybertruck would get 120 miles with the same trailer. It's physics, towing distance is primarily a function of battery size. If anything I'm being generous to the Silverado as I'm not accounting for the better efficiency of the Cybertruck's thermals.
Do the complete rear sears fold up like on the F-150's/Lightnings?
I like how they brag about more range when all they did was add about 4,000lbs more battery, an extra $20,000, and half the effenciency.
No
lol
No, Too much money. Can buy a Nice lightning and a Mach-e or a Tesla for the same price
Lightening is terrible.
You can say the same for the cybertruck
So you put in Chevy in the bottom of the list?
When it is available with less range and features like the Lightning the price will be comparable.
Yes, but, if you are considering those sized cars you never needed a pickup in the first place. When did pickup trucks go from working cars to family cars? Practically speaking, would not be easier for most people just having a car with a trailer hinge? My old Nissan Micra had one, could pull 650kg, perfect for random uses. Small car, “big” when needed.
This thing is really cool. It’s a shame they can’t get the pricing under control. The basic truth is most people shouldn’t buy a vehicle that expensive.
I love the styling, tech and utility. The price makes me take pause of course. If you tow a lot then obviously isn’t the vehicle for you. But if you mainly commute and only occasionally need to run to the dump or haul some stuff then I can see this as a ICE replacement absolutely. Yes it’s too expensive but for the way most owners actually use their pickups this truck could replace their ICE pickup with the caveat that the ability to have Level2 charging at home is the key to success.
I don't even have to watch the video to answer the question. No. Absolutely not.
EV's are designed to make OEM C-suites rich but bankrupt the companies that try to build them.
That folding rear seat thing is a nightmare. For $100K it should be a 1 button thing. I'd have to be a gymnast to crawl around to remove, stow, fold, press, and repeat. Of course, Andre does it (in about 6 minutes) and says "bam". Funny.
This is gross looking 🤢
-you don’t want to off-road with it.
-really heavy
-you likely won’t want to tow meaningful distances with it
-it costs 100K
Well, Memorial Day is coming up. I guess I could spend this much and throw some mulch back there.
They’ve done some really great things with this truck, but this is another truck that is simply not needed. I don’t think anyone would actually do truck work with it.
More maverick-like trucks people.
I am not much at all into EV's but I like this truck. There is just no way in hell I am spending that much on a pickup. Just call it the Avalanche and put an ICE engine in it.
It's NOT a truck. It's a Transformer.
Come on 100k+
Basically this will become a tombstone in gm automobile dealer lots.
As long as the government doesn't bail them out again, it's their funeral.
Love the cargo, tailgate and extended bed features. Very handy.
The long range and full size truck features make this highly competitive to top trim of Rivian and CT. However the Lightning is really starting to show its value as an all-around useful and functional truck with the biggest frunk, onboard power, and no frills or gimmicks.
The RST package makes a huge difference compared to the WT. Compared to the rest of the market, this is probably the best value for money if you can say that about 100k vehicle.
What is the wheel bolt pattern?
I would love this Trail Boss version of this or the AT4 version of the GMC EV. 450 miles of range, likely more, and 250 miles of towing heavy trailers is plenty for me and anyone really. I don't see the problem with stopping to charge for a half an hour if you're going on a 600 mile road trip, or for 1.5 hours if pulling a trailer that far.
An hour and a half to put 150ish miles of range on the vehicle while towing. That’s way too long. These aren’t really cut out for that type of trip yet. Running around town with a small trailer, fine I’m sure…
Tire companies will rule the world one day. All fun and games until your tires last 15k at best
Hey Andre, I see that pre production Silverado has cruise control....
What is the battery life cycle and what will it cost to replace it after warranty period??
There's people out there with 300,000 miles on Chevy Bolts. There's some that had recall replacements done at beyond 200,000 miles and the original battery was still indicating healthy.
IMO this is an overblown issue. The Nissan Leaf gave EVs a bad name (no thermal management). YES the battery is expensive if you have to replace it, and if it happens on a vehicle that is a few years old and outside warranty, the vehicle is probably done for. BUT. You can say the exact same thing about that 8 speed automatic transmission that the EV doesn't have. You can say the exact thing about that fancy DOHC 4-valve-per-cylinder engine with direct injection that the EV doesn't have. In fact, a friend of mine just got his late model Silverado back from the shop ... a lifter failed and took out the camshaft. $10,000 job covered under warranty. Front end of the truck has to be torn apart and the cylinder heads have to come off in order to fix that. Won't happen to an EV.
Is the body aluminum or steel do you know? Just curious. I know they keep adding more and more aluminum body parts to the ICE Silverado.
Main unibody is steel, that I know, but I don't know about the doors and hood.
I only watch to support TFL, been subscribed since the beginning. I will keep my Gmt400 and 800😂 I will spend $12-13k on new Indian Scout and be happy.
Soon they will stack up on the dealer lots. Who want's to pay 100k + on a truck you will buy new tires for every year.
