The russians know how to write some really compelling dystopian fiction. Personally, Metro has the kind of odd appear as something like Dune has. Its some kind of primordial enviroment that speaks to us on a level that actually transcends the content of the work. 'The Underground'. 'The Desert'. These are places which remain totally exotic to us, I think because they are so inhospitable
@@CunkGungler its because humans have a fascination with suffering, and since most men who sit on a computer all day don't see much of that actual survival suffering they're drawn to it. Comfort breeds weakness.
You deserve every bit of growth you've experienced, and then some. Thank you for giving genuine critique, instead of focusing on what a game is "supposed" to be.
Nuclear Horror, to me, is watching states invest in inefficient "green energy" rather than incredibly efficient nuclear power. California has already *banned gaming PCs* because they can't produce enough electricity to keep up with demand.
It depends on what you mean by "efficent". Nuclear Power reqires large upfront investments and it takes a median of 84-117 months to bring online, during which investors in the project get nothing. In terms of raw power generation, sure, nuclear is unmatched. But the market doesn't support their construction because it requires investors to make high risk low return decisions.
@@inurokuwarz Well, that's why governments should be filled with people who know what they're doing and are able to see the bigger picture and long term benefits. ...which is almost sci-fi, I know (see: school reforms in pretty much any country)
Only partially true, the only thing which got banned is pre built gaming pcs which are too power hungry. You can still buy all the pieces to build your own custom pc. And idk, but trying to make products more energy efficient instead of just exclusively throwing more and more powerplants at the problem seems like a sensible thing to do.
While I agree Nuclear is a good substitute for green energy, green energy is still preferable if possible as it doesn’t create waste and is far less risky if it is mismanaged. They’re both miles ahead of coal though.
The way you bagged on fallout 4 made me laugh. I played that game when I was a lot younger and got bored of it so I never finished it, but you hit the nail on the head as to why I lost my engagement with it.
Honestly, one of Chernobylite's greatest appeals is its Mystery, intrigue, characters and branching choices. Where you think there's a bit of an illusion, but in actuality, the smallest detail can come back to bite you. Its one of the few games that makes me feel genuinely bad about killing someone. One of my favorite moments came from when one of the soldiers saw his buddy lying dead on the ground, he said "Hey, Alexsi, why are you sleeping?" before realizing that he was dead. The game does a great job of humanizing the NAR as more then just NPC's that arbitrarily accost you. Chernoblite be like: Hey, remember that guy you shot a few hours back you forgot about? Well here's his wife. Me: SHIIET! It really makes you regret some of your bad choices and that only sometimes you can go back and fix them, or start over and try again.

@1:25 Your writing has such a pinpoint precision to it. You find ways to word so many feelings I have, just effortlessly.
You say shit and I always have a "duh" moment, like that's exactly the way I feel but couldn't express it.
Great video, great writing, not enough doom eternal, I hate it.
hey cobble, i genuinely enjoy your content, please never stop uploading
Are you ok? Almost no Doom Eternal references, I am worried... We are worried Cobbler...
I love your videos because of the extensive vocabulary you use. I have a lot of trouble putting my thoughts to words and making my point know in conversations and watching your videos helps me formulate my thoughts into coherent sentences instead of the ramblings of some foul tarnished. thank you and keep up the wonderful work.
P.s. my favorite cobbler is my granny's homemade peach cobbler. lovely channel name
This is the Dark Souls of TH-cam videos.
If you don't pause and skip forwards in time he comes and murders your dog because we all know that writers get a hard on from killing dogs

Holy shit this comment is glorious
What version of doom eternal is this?
The pirated version
@@kevin-tx3ds pirated Walmart version. 😀
Slav version. Bring your own vodka
It's the dark version
You had me at "uncircumcised"
This game gave me a "This war of mine" vibe
So hey I just saw this game the other day, and well your review randomly popped up and I am still curious about the game. NICE job on the presentation. Good video. 5/5 Subd
I just love that your videos are hilarious and somehow adds “Cobbler Lore” that just make me go “Wait, what the heck?” 😂
Severally underrated you are Mr. Cobbler. Keep it up 👌👌👌
This just made my day
And I really think you should play metro
hey man, what's that song playing from 12:05?
Hey, have you played the Metro series?
I can imagine you'd like it.
I don’t think he would he might but you don’t get to make any decisions and there’s a LOT of water
@@CunkGungler ukrainian actually, tho the metro books are russian
@@CunkGungler its because humans have a fascination with suffering, and since most men who sit on a computer all day don't see much of that actual survival suffering they're drawn to it. Comfort breeds weakness.
Eastern european in general make some of the best ambience in games, Pathologic, Metro, Stalker you name it
I forgot your channel name and finally found you again, it’s good to be back
You deserve every bit of growth you've experienced, and then some.
Ha greatest country my arse
The way you bagged on fallout 4 made me laugh. I played that game when I was a lot younger and got bored of it so I never finished it, but you hit the nail on the head as to why I lost my engagement with it.
After spending 1 hour into Chernobylite, it is safe to say the alternate title for this game is "PTSD simulator"
Love the analysis, it has a lot of thought put into it, this is why I subbed.
Nice review.
I'm slowly getting less confident that you being manic and slightly insane is an act and more the feeling that just you normally act like this.
The pandemic took its toll on us all! I've had a lot of close friends confess awful anxiety and depression in these trying times, but my issues have been different. The fact is, my neighbor has been watching me and putting voices in my food.
It ends tonight.
@@DJPeachCobbler That is not kind of him. I hope you, your close friends and your neighbor get things sorted out and get better. I genuinely enjoy your content and wish you the best.
"the protagonist is wearing eyeliner"
Hey! My eyes look like that, and I've never worn makeup.
I'm just chronically sleep deprived
I haven't played S.T.A.L.K.E.R. yet, but I have read Roadside Picnic and the artifact hunting in the Zone sounds really interesting.
God damn
This is a channel where every video would qualify for a "greatest hits" compilation. Never let down
I want a full series of Dimitri and Dale. I want to see their struggles, their triumphs, and their tribulations. I want to see Dale struggle with Dimitri's lack of effort in the relationship, and I want to see Dimitri find a new, healthier identity for himself than that of a simple generic thug.
I like that you went back to your old format!
You didn't say "Do not steal". I'm stealing your sonic original character.
Was watching your stalker 2 video and got a notification that this video was new. 2 days old and I just now got a notification for it.
Just picked this up a few days ago, it’s pretty great.
Found your channel beginning of this year and I've never looked back. Great stuff king 💪😎
I have seen so much slav videos that now whenever I hear 'Chernobyl', 'slav','stalker' .... I remember the sashlik king, boris
What a review!!!! The best I’ve seen done of a game and I’ve been watching reviews since i was a kid. Pressed the subscribe button so hard
Glad to hear that the game seem to be something I enjoy, choices, bases and a group.
Will add it to my wishlist, good review!
Damn the way you cut back and told me your homie had a 7in pipe, I had to subscribe that shit got me good
Great review, loved the "ok let's get this comparison with stalker out of the way... now here's how the game actually plays. Only critique to offer, and I really do hate to nitpick, but Chernobylite is a real material. Found after the melt down of the Chernobyl reactors.
Playing "He was a good Stalker"
Brings me to tears
I just recently bought this game and beat it, so as a 15 year old who's attention span isn't great I like the fact that the game was able to hold my attention for the 22ish hours I put into the game
DJ peach Cobbler, what the fu... I take a three month hiatus from TH-cam and now you have 155 thousand subs... first the blow up from those couple stalker videos now this. When did this happen!? Good for you man. You deserved it! (This is a positive comment for the TH-cam algorithm) (and a personal comment to DJPC)
