With all the travels and exploring different places to eat, I realize that I haven't really explored my home city of Vancouver! I hope to remedy this by showing you some of my hidden gems in my city. Vancouver is known for amazing Chinese food and rather than going to the typical cookie cutter restaurants or places marketed to tourists, I'd thought I'd show you some of the neighbourhood mom and pop restaurants and serves amazing food at incredibly affordable prices!
But don't let the low prices food you! This will be an extravagant feast with the luscious lobsters, the amazing dungeness crabs from Vancouver, authentic Peking duck and more traditional and adventurous dishes. Really grateful as well to be eating with our wonderful family and friends. Thank you so much for joining us on our culinary affordable feast!!!

It's great to go out with friends and family. When you eat family style with a large group you can try a lot of different foods. Even with that you had leftovers for a few days for everyone 😋

This is our family’s favorite restaurant for gatherings, their dim sum is also very good and reasonably priced.
It’s a very nice place and was hoping to showcase these mom and Pop restaurants. We’ve been there for dim sum too, and it was delicious also and very good value.

BC has such a vibrant wine industry that consistently wins awards. I lived near this lovely restaurant. As well I lived in China during this time. So I believe my taste test will be apples to apples. Overall the food presented in Vancouver compares to that offered in Shanghai, Bejing, and Shenyang.

Great video. Being a very traditional chinese person, I love taking my non-chinese friends to banquets to be able to explain the symbolism of each dish. Noodles..chicken..and why rice is served at the end.

Converted the menu cost for your meal into Australian dollars and there is no way any Chinese restaurant in Australia would be able to match that price for what was offered on that menu. Making me envious and hungry.

It was a great dinner and all the dishes were fantastic. I could sure use some of that leftovers now.
My family and I visit this restaurant regularly as well. We always order the plum sauce pork. We’ve also just found another great casual restaurant too, maybe that will show up in Tim’s video but for now I want to keep it a secret lol. It gets quite busy there.
It is quite a nice place and I really enjoyed the pork chop too. They did a really good job and no worries. We’ll keep other places a secret.
Well, I must say that I have never experienced anything like this incredible meal. I'm not an adventurous eater, so much of this would be wasted on me.

If you’re ever in the area, or if you have a local Asian restaurant, definitely give the lobster sticky rice, a try. Really delicious and yeah, we kind of over ordered a bit

Now I have a clue why Canadian government started dropping the interest rate. Look at how great value the meal is, with 10 courses including seafood, with big proportion of each dish. With the same quantity and quality here in Sydney, it will cost $1k above

Lovely meal with family and friends. Your mom is so pretty. I often use kitchen scissors to cut the legs of D. crab. So many wonderful dishes. I do love duck, so that's up there. Does jellyfish have any flavor or is it the sauce. Once stung by jellyfish, I'd like to eat it to get even - ha, ha! Hello from beautiful Oregon.

ahh! I speak choking allergy voice too no worries for me I understand you. I love the look of that sea wall walk. I see someone came prepared with a corkscrew knife bottle opener gadget or did the waiter just misplace it? 😁 looked like there was plenty of jelly fish when it got to you I've never had the opportunity to try it but my brother has and he said it was delish it looks pretty good. Everything looked so good those noodles with the crab dish looked really good but they would probably change my allergy voice even more if there was too much crab in them. Vancouver looks lovely no wonder it's my best friends' favorite spot to visit out of all the places they have visited. Best Chinese place I ever eaten at was a hole in the wall place in Houston.
Isn’t it always the case!? It’s the hole in the walls that have all the good food. It’s a nice restaurant here in Vancouver and it’s no-frills. We are allowed to bring our own wine and they just give you a corkscrew. No corkage fee or anything like that…. Still suffering with the allergies here though.
