It's interesting that chinese business are so focused on cost cutting which can result in inferior quality. It's why chinese products are associated with poor quality, it's so ingrained that the chinese cook asks about that. Whereas american doesn't always think that. Then again it's also expected that when you buy chinese stuff to expect cheaper price whereas it's more accepted or tolerated to pay more for American products. Lastly chinese are more about saving face, don't think he's being as honest whereas Darian was very honest with his chinese BBQ reviews willing to give lower scores. I can't imagine everything is 10, that chicken definitely isn't a 10 for the chinese cook given what he said.

Mutual respect given by both sides. They know all well the long hours, dedication and searing heat and patience it takes to imbue a slight flavor to their food. Omitting celebrity chefs, as a profession they are not appreciated enough.
2:31 I have watched so many videos on barbecue; I cannot believe I never realized WHY brisket is THE Texas bbq cut from a cultural perspective-literally a testament of the pitmaster’s patience and devotion to the craft. The opposite of the easy way out. It makes perfect sense!!!!
4:41 I use Cherry wood when I BBQ. I prune my Cherry trees to get the wood. If anyone reading this wants to contact me about making a deal on Cherry wood let me know. When you cut up the pruning's from Cherry wood that entire area will start to smell of Cherry. I live in a Zone 4 area of the US and the "Wild," or "Rum," Cherry is Zone 4 Hardy. It grows fast and is a hardwood with very nice grain. It does bear small very sweet fruit which birds love. I also use the Cherry wood as scales on knives that I refurbish. Cherry wood has a reddish hue with very interesting grain patterns.
Food has always brought cultures together and that's why you'll find similar recipes from different countries and thats because the recipes were SO good it had to be shared and passed down to families. ❤

It’s so great to see pros from different cultures enjoying each other’s work
This video made me extremely happy, watching both sides reactions I don’t think I’ve genuinely laughed or enjoyed a video in a long time like I just did.
Thank you :) gained a subscriber
Both chefs share a common theme: they cook with heart ♥
I feel the bromance! defo needs more colab between chefs.
so much joy and positive energy in this video. I love it so much.
I like how the edit made me think Darien would ask Jack in English and Jack answers in Chinese and Darien understands perfectly 😂 A common language between them is great food.
Mutual respect given by both sides. They know all well the long hours, dedication and searing heat and patience it takes to imbue a slight flavor to their food. Omitting celebrity chefs, as a profession they are not appreciated enough.
I love Texas! You can see how pleased he is to share his bbq when he says you’re very welcome. To him it’s not just his business it’s his passion
900 degrees! No wonder the Chinese man was amazed, they use Celsius over there, like just about everywhere else in the world
Haaaaahaaa
😂😂
Absolutely exquisite!! The Texas BBQ Master is a true gentleman and connoisseur!! My goodness where is this???? Great show with great energy!!
really loved the two videos of bring the cultures together!! Gives me hope for this world!!
I love seeing people come together 😊
I like looking at the respect between the two chefs from different sides of the world😊 real truly does recognize real
Love these cross cultural videos
There is always so much respect
Just imagine if the whole world was together and shared everything instead of secrets and war etc. Imagine how far, advanced and amazing we would be
100%
We're getting there
I hope we never do. Cultures develop differently because they are separated. When you mix them all together permanently they are no longer distinctive, the richness is diluted into sameness.
@@redfields5070it depends though. If we really wanna advance as a species, it’s practically the only way
@@a1m..
No, it's the worst possible way. It can never happen and chasing that dream ruins any progress that has been made. Good is the worst thing on earth.
I’m liking this series of videos. Such fun 👏🏽
The food is so good Jack's English is getting better.
Food brings us all together. I've travelled around the planet. When someone brings you into their home for a meal it's a sign of welcome and respect.
There's two foods i love, one is steak when cooked perfectly, and the second is bbq, there's just something about bbq that draws you in and makes you want to eat with family around a table or in the yard.
I really enjoyed this. The smiles are contagious. Thank you for sharing!
As a Texan, I find it hard to believe this is different from other kinds of bbq. Because this is what I have grown up eating!
Oh wow last I saw Darien was in another video a few years back and man still has that great personality and charisma.
When I tried brisket in texas, I was shocked. It was a level of deliciousness I didn't think possible. It kind of ruined the brisket for me back home.
He was right when he said BBQ brings people together. We were doing BBQ ribs on the grill one day. I went out to my car for something and a couple walking by remarked on how good the food smelled. Without any hesitation I invited them in for some food. They accepted and we all ended up having a great time. They are now close friends of ours.
3 months after the taping of this episode, a new chain of BBQ restaurants named Jack's Lucky Star Texas BBQ opened throughout China.
Even with language barrier, they still understand each other, its so wholesome, one day ill try some Texas bbq
6:13 the translator face just looks like he is in heaven 😂😂😂
The respect given between these 2 gentlemen, another 10/10.
"Work of art" is the exact right words Chef.
Absolutely love this! This is how the whole world should be, sharing each other's cultures.
10:26 Uncle chef wanted a dab-up lol 😂
I loved seeing so much joy and passion from Jack, and I can't lie, he should wear Cowboy hats more, that hat looked awesome on him.
@11:26 is the best line 😂😂😂
When he cut into that brisket point cut, it looked soooo fire. Got me salivating lol.
the American pit master seem like an extremely nice and genuine guy.
This is such a sweet video. Jack is so passionate you can tell this must be friggin delicious.
You should invite the American pit master to the Chinese barbecue restaurant. Have a Chinese master tech in the American pitmaster to his technique of cooking barbecue would be a good video..
They did it two weeks ago! Good video
@@GrizzLee777I think they mean invite them to see how they actually make it and not just trying the food
They aren't in America they are in Canada smh
@@EV4LS1DE10MAN The pit master is still an American. He just lives in Canada now. Not that complicated.
You can tell it's good, from how excited the chef is to share his food. looks like a good time!
Bru..Texas bbq with some rice or fried rice..game changer..I do it all the time
It is absolutely amazing seeing a master of his craft admiring another master at his craft despite the similarities and differences in their style. Great video
4:10 that was wholesome when he records
This dude is the embodiment of Texas BBQ. It’s all love and doing everything to make sure the customer loves the food. It should always feel like home cooking.
Such a humbling video
The eyes of that Texas chef man, you can tell he LOVES what he does. Love to see it
Jack is so polite, everything is 10/10
Nah bro, everybodies first try of real Texas style barbeque is a 10/10, eye dialating experience. It's not until you have other Texas barbeques that you can adjust your flavor benchmark to give better or worse scores.
@@DipsSauce7388 I disagree, even if you never have Texas bbq there are other bbq style, you can gauge from there. Like the bbq chef, he didn't give all 10/10 for the Chinese bbq. It's just a cultural thing for old Chinese kan to be polite especially if the one cooking is in front of you
I just want to say the editing is perfect
The balance of natural reactions and editing out some of the translation and explaining was perfect
6:24 my only problem...where is the smoke ring on that brisket?
These guys are great. Chefs can always appreciate each other's work
Paraphrasing the late Anthony Bourdain: get anyone together to break bread, we all have a lot more in common than differences. 😊
