There is something uniquely soulful about African American singers, I think everyone can agree on that, and Celtic (Irish/Scots) singers also have a very unique type of soulfulness of its own. It’s those singers who you can ‘feel’ deep down. So emotional & I’ve always believed it comes from knowing deep pain through generations, I don’t know why. Your reactions are awesome, thank you 🙏🏼

I think its routed in the oppression both cultures. In ireland are culture was made illegal by the british (Ban in the irish language, catholicism, Traditional gaelic sports) when your cultures and rights are surpressed people turn to spiritual, soulful and cumunal ideals. this irish style of singing is very much from that time and african american soul is heavily routed in the blues another genre formed in oppression
