Super proud of Dermot Kennedy here in Ireland, you always hear the strength of his emotions in his voice, truly beautiful. His song After Rain, which is one of his earlier songs is incredible, and I would say really draws from his Irish roots. Would be great to see a reaction for it!

Dermot's voice has such a quality to it that is hard to put into words. The way his voice carries a story, A proper proper artist.
I hadnt heard this cover before this video. Massive DK fan but this is awesome, he nails any genre!
I love how his voice is strong and vulnerable at the same time.
My daughter introduced me to Dermot Kennedy a while ago, we both love everything Irish :) and since then I have just loved everything of his that I hear, from his original stuff to the many covers that he has done.
I love his acoustic stuff, as he always manages to get a kind of folksy feel to the songs, plus the rawness of his voice is voice is so much easier to hear and appreciate when there aren't many instruments around. Having said that, I love all versions, but have a bigger appreciation for the acoustic.

@@MetalGuyReacts thank you. He was just 17 and a huge metal fan (as we all were). We (all his friends) were standing along the isle in church with flowers waiting for him to be brought in. As soon as the first notes hit, all of us stood with shaking flowers. I still have that image in my head as soon as I hear the first notes.

I think he did such an amazing job with this song. I would love to hear him do another version where he starts off very stripped down and then brings it up to be a bit more grandiose kind of like Metallica. Just cause I love to hear his voice but with their drama
This was one of the greatest songs ive ever listened to period.
You would probably love ‘Young and Free’ by Dermot if you haven’t heard it already. ‘Couldn’t Tell’ is another good one. These two are sort of more known.

-Stockholm (only live concert versions available, he preforms it in Stockholm mostly. It’s also sometimes titled or referred to as ‘Malay’)

-Killer was a Coward (this one! I recommend an older version. There’s one live in a Church that is 🔥)
-Bring me down (this one is also only live, it’s older and I highly recommend. The one he performs in a church is my fav version)
He’s one of those rare artist that puts out an album that every song is good. I was absolutely shocked expecting to find a hand full of duds. But there isn’t one I’d skip & that says a lot! His voice is just phenomenal. Such a real, raw, emotion filled voice & his lyrics are like poetry. Can’t help but be a huge fan.
Those are some really good songs, That live church recording is off the charts, on “After rain” when he hits “you won’t go lonely” that was on another level !!
