Yeah, why they don't have vertical exhaust stacks, is beyond me. In any South American city, I have been in, you get these guys blowin' by you while you're on the sidewalk, you get a face full of black smoke--and all over the ladies' dresses, etc. What's the thinking on this one?

Diesel exhausts aren't actually as bad as they look in terms of contributing to climate change, you may be surprised that newer systems actually emit much more CO2.
These smokey plumes are great at polluting the surrounding environment though, it'd be nice to see an efficient heavy racing vehicle.
@@christerahs9776 while producing an electric car causes more pollution, over the lifespan of the car it will overall produce way less emissions than a gas car. Yes, making an ev just to throw it out would harm the environment more, but if you use the car for as long as it's good to use before buying a new one, it will be way less polluting than a gas car.

Euro trucks were always pretty badass, trucking is a huge part of the continent's wealth and infrastructure.
Power-wise you have the same as in America, anywhere from 350 to 600-700hp motors depending on brand and engine/transmission/axle options.
You should really search up Big Rig Challenge, those things enough torque to twist the chassis of those trucks, all while hauling nearly 2 trailer long loads of wood.

Pretty cool! We used to run like this up in Northern California, Covelo Road, Highway 20 out to Fort Brag. It was just like this, but we were pulling trailers. Nothing but fun!

Formula 1 cars have little torque and huge horse power and undeniably are race winners. Having said that I do acknowledge that they have more torque this year but talking from what we know more about (the V8s) they only had about 250 pounds feet of torque while producing 750hp waay up the rev range. Its the huge revs and very short gearing (meaning low torque requirement) that wins them the races as an engine based on that principle can be very light and small.

Rook horse power is mathematically calculated from torque, if they can maintain the 250lb ft up to those RPM's they mathemically will create ''750 HP'' .
