European Truck Racing Championship - Misano 2022 Highlights - Crashes, Powerslides, Smoke & More!

- The European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC) is back in Misano with the first weekend of racing for the 2022 season. Truck racing is a world apart when we speak about motorsport. Weighing around 5,500 kg, these vehicles are powered by 13-litres single huge turbo engines. The power is monstrous; we are talking about something between 1,200hp and 1,500hp and a massive 5,500Nm of torque! Yes, you read that correctly! This allows trucks to accelerate from 30 Km/h to 160 km/h in less than six seconds. You can well imagine the show staged by about twenty "monsters" when they are side by side. Each round always gives a lot of fun; crashes, rear-end collisions, powerslides and run-offs are frequent. The video you see refers to Saturday, May 21; I collected the material produced during the test laps, the Super Pole, the qualifications and finally, the two races won respectively by Norbert Kiss and Antonio Albacete both on MAN. L'European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC) è tornato a Misano con il primo weekend di gare della stagione 2022. Le gare dei camion sono un mondo a parte per quanto riguarda il motorsport. Con un peso di circa 5.500 Kg questi veicoli impiegano propulsori da 13-Litri di cilindrata dotati di un'enorme singolo turbo. La potenza è mostruosa, stiamo parlando di volori compresi fra i 1.200cv ed i 1.500cv e ben 5.500Nm di coppia! Si, avete letto bene! Questo permette di accelerare da 30 a 160 Km/h in meno di sei secondi. Potete ben immaginare lo spettacolo messo in scena da una ventina di motrici quando sono uno affianco all'altro. Ogni manches regala sempre tanto divertimento; sportellate, tamponamenti, collisioni ed uscite di pista sono frequenti. Il video che vedete si riferisce alla giornata di Sabato 21 Maggio, ho raccolto il materiale prodotto durante i giri di prova, la Super Pole, le qualifiche ed infine le due gare vinte rispettivamente da Norbert Kiss & Antonio Albacete entrambi su MAN. For real this more entertaining than seeing road cars racing on racetrack. Such a different type of Motorsport indeed not like ordinary cars.

Nice to see some interest in truck racing. For years it has been an official FIA class but without factory teams (as i recall)
they were “famous” in the late 80’s and 90’s when Steve Parrish drove a Mercedes Benz. Even the former DTM driver Ellen Lohr drove one of these monsters. Thanks for the upload 🙏🏼

Complimenti bel reportage! È un bel po' che non seguo i trucks. Ma sbaglio o non vedo più un impegno ufficiale delle case? Sembrano tutti team privati che corrono con mezzi meno performanti rispetto agli anni dei supercamion Sisu, Man e Mercedes?
Iveco e Man ci sono in veste diciamo semiufficiale perchè le case comunque supportano i team, difatti se guardi bene sono praticamente solo queste due marche. Ci sono poi un paio di camion della Freightliner, anche qui appoggiati con il team Buggyra e poi uno Scania. Niente Mercedes, Volvo, Renault. Le corse son molto belle, non si riesce a non amare qualcosa del genere, però i tempi d'oro sono passati da molto anche in questo sport.
