Daemon definitely a super interesting influential character. DT was a bad-ass type who would do pretty much do anything to achieve his ends regardless of what it took. Be it removing obstacles to be by Rhaenyra's side (he likely conspired to be rid of Laenor) , hired Blood and Cheese to carry out some fairly heinous murders during the Dance & pursued his own aspirations along the way including conquering the Stepstones for a time and briefly marrying into the Velaryons which kept him in the power mix with that connection to the Sea Snake. Daemon of course was an extremely influential power player throughout the Dance on behalf of Rhaenyra's cause even seemingly giving his life in that epic dragon battle over the Gods Eye against Aemond. Daemon's rivalries with other key characters is quite interesting as well to flesh out. DT was clearly adept in combat , effective in reforming / improving the City Watch and to be given Dark Sister (considering the select company who have been given & wielded that blade over the centuries) at a very young age speaks volumes. Daemon is certainly a super important and influential character , two of his children with Rhaenyra even went on to become King of the realm. Personally I wonder if a young Brynden Rivers was inspired by Daemon's example and M.O. to a degree with that stop at nothing , do anything to achieve a desired ends mentality. Casting Daemon certainly is going to be extremely key for House of the Dragon (HotD) , as is the case with numerous other prominent characters of that time period but Daemon is certainly near the top of priorities to get correct. I look forward to HotD in general , between the novellas and F&B there is so much literary gold to draw from with a completed story as well (so no danger of surpassing source material). I just hope the show runners execute very well. Condal I do not know huge amounts about yet and Sapochnik has been at the helm of some quality GoT episodes but especially later on he became a bit more spectacle over story. Also I am still confused why it will start and be focused on the DotD, I would much prefer they did a season or two of Aegon's Conquest first as that is arguably my favorite Targ era and literally has everything to be a great series , including unanswered questions that HotD could have answered for us. For us book fans it matters less but for the casual viewers starting with the Dance for the next TV series in that universe does not provide much context and / or reason for emotional investment in that conflict without the lead up and Targ monarchy backstory up to that point. Personally I would have started with the Conquest , if it is called HotD might as well start at the beginning but I am still excited for the spectacle in store with the current concept.
I’ve got to admit that Daemon Targaryen and Daemon Blackfyre are my two favs, but my heart ❤️ belongs to the original and it’s pretty cool that Daemons Blackfyre is a descendant of the glorious Lord Flea Bottom. Great video Gray. I consumed a lot of Alvarez and Toledo wine during the viewing 🍷🍷🍷

Grrl Laena and Rhaenyra were definitely sharing lunch boxes. I think Harwin Strong and Rhaenrya and Laenor were having 3 somes with Strong serving as a "fluffer" for Laenor
The deaths of Corlys' & Rhaenys' children following in close succession to each other seem to just be coincidence. As for the deformed child, that seems to occasionally happen to Valyrians either through sheer bad luck or some other great stress happens to them. Laenor Velaryon's lover might have killed him because the former found out that he was a spy for the Greens (which explains why the killer is never found by Corlys). As for Nettles, perhaps she was taken as a lover by Daemon, but there's also the possibility that exaggerations were attached to the accounts of Daemon's time with her. Given their age disparity, her Dragonseed status, & her apparent native residency on Dragonstone, she might have been a bastard of Daemon's. His treatment of Misaria & their unborn child demonstrates that he was a man who despite his flaws, cared deeply for his kids. When other highborn might be loath to recognize a bastard of theirs born to a lowborn mother, he was handing out Dragon Eggs as part of their patrimony.

TV is mostly accurate to the book. I do wish they included the scene with Daemon hugging his twin daughters. That's one of his few redeeming qualities. Loving father.
as a history student I can say to you that it isnt only in Fantrasy world....in medi9eval times it was totally normal to marry off your 13 year old princess to make new allies
I think Matt Smith is going to be awesome , I am already impressed with the trailers , soo excited to see him with Caraxes and ofcourse Rhaenyra :) I agree that both Rhaegar and Lyanna were horribly cast in GoT
Everyone in Westeros is advantageous asf. Do you think Daemon truly loved Rhaenyra or just wanted the crown?? Something tells me he actually did love Laena. 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
If they pull off this character , it sounds awesome , cause I love Tyrion and Jaime both as characters , especially Jaime coming around to somewhat of a bit of a redemption as a human being , although some may see it different , I think Jaime was very interesting , so if daemon is much like this , he sounds like a cool character !
I just cannot wait to see Daemon leap from his dragon and takes Dark Sister and shoves it through old boys good eye. Even though it kills him, that jewel eyed shit heel got what was coming to him. Long live the King of the Narrow Sea! Excellent analysis, I've subscribed and am looking forward to all your content🎉
I think Daemon was as good a person as you can be in Westeros. I don’t think he seduced Rhaenyra out of greed for the iron throne. I think he may at first actually was trying to help her seduce sir Cristin Cole but there might have been a second motive and that would be he thought they should unite their houses in time to strengthen Rhaenyras claim because knowing the Hightower’s like he did he probably didn’t fully trust they would bend the knee after his brothers death especially if they had a son they could put their claim behind and that’s exactly what happen. He never once tried to be a real king after his brother died he let his wife rule like he promised his brother he would. I think if he was really trying to be king that whole time he would’ve at least tried it out a bit so to speak once his plan worked and he was technically king. Just my opinion
Personally I do believe Daemon sullied Rhae’s reputation on purpose because he felt like if Viserys wouldn’t listen to him about the Hightowers then he would try and strengthen their family his own way which was marrying his niece
I don't know much about the Great Bastards, and would love to have videos on them all (and their mothers, of course!). You thinking of doing this, Gray?
Medieval* I don't think it wasn't his appendix, the maesters would have known the difference between a stomach and an appendix. More than likely he had ulcers, which went untreated. It ate a small hole in his stomach lining, which was probably exacerbated by horse or dragon riding, or any other activity, and tore open....spilling stomach contents into his body. Same thing happened to my Dad. Sat in our house pretty much dying for 2 or 3 days before he FINALLY listened to me and went to the hospital. He had a colostomy bag for months and months and months...
"Daemon found the City Watch as a ramshackle ragamuffin goof-troupe do you hear me?"

TV is mostly accurate to the book. I do wish they included the scene with Daemon hugging his twin daughters. That's one of his few redeeming qualities. Loving father.
Such a great video. I can always count on you to smart, engaging and hilarious.
This is great ! Keep doing your thing. Your sense of humor is twisted and I love it Can't fuckin wait HOD 2022
Maeleys the monstrous would be cool. Great video as always! I love bingeing your vids at work lol
Another great video!!! 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks Gray!
This was AMAZING
You are absolutely hilarious. I was rolling on the floor. Subscribed
I love how real you keep the story. Feel like we sitting on the stoop sharing tea.
Had to watch it again.... amazing video
Omg this is some long as juice miss thang thank you 🙏, say you should check out the expanse and do some juices videos on that as well love ❤️
I’ve been watching it! I love it, I need to read the books.
Fantastic video. I loved/hated this part of their history as it was the beginning of the end for this great family. X
as a history student I can say to you that it isnt only in Fantrasy world....in medi9eval times it was totally normal to marry off your 13 year old princess to make new allies
Can't wait to see who they cast as Damon. It's got to be better than Rhaegar, though.
Please let it be better than Rhaegar.
Omg...Girl I COULD NOT with that Rhaegar
I think Matt Smith is going to be awesome , I am already impressed with the trailers , soo excited to see him with Caraxes and ofcourse Rhaenyra :) I agree that both Rhaegar and Lyanna were horribly cast in GoT
Everyone in Westeros is advantageous asf. Do you think Daemon truly loved Rhaenyra or just wanted the crown?? Something tells me he actually did love Laena. 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
I think he loved them both. And they both loved him & each other on some Aegon, Visenya, Rhaenys kinda stuff
Next video: sir Otto high tower, he has Tywin vibes
Little finger schemes and ambition with Tywins nobility
Gray: Ser Otto Hightower is TRASH

At 33:35 the way she says thick! (Shivers up my spine)
Honestly I view Daemon as a mash-up of Oberyn Martell and Tywin Lannister. I doubt Oberyn was as cruel or ruthless as Daemon.
Long live the King of the Narrow Sea.
Daemon...playing the villain when needed & the hero when he knows no one will accept him
Shes back agaiinn🔥🐉
Your reviews are so kool! I'm listening while lifting. Thx 💪
Let's move on before I relapse lmao. Great vid as usual Grey!!
He’s a Feanor character! I love it!!
My first time listening to your content. Really diggin the way you tell a story.
You just got a new sub.
The Realm’s delight! The first Queen to sit the Iorn throne! Rhaenyra Targaryen!
I think he's most like a combination of Oberyn and Tyrion. He's probably my favorite Targaryen.
Do the dragonseeds from Dragonstone, Hugh The Hammer and Ulf The White, and their roles in the Dance Of The Dragons!!!
Gray Area!!!
Amazing videos Been following your content for years in these type of videos you Are in your essence 👌🏼
Personally I do believe Daemon sullied Rhae’s reputation on purpose because he felt like if Viserys wouldn’t listen to him about the Hightowers then he would try and strengthen their family his own way which was marrying his niece
My baby GrayArea!!! Miss your videos and commentary sis!!
man's stroke game must've been in LEVELS FRRRRRRR he had Everybody twitching
LOVE your content!
I don't know much about the Great Bastards, and would love to have videos on them all (and their mothers, of course!). You thinking of doing this, Gray?
Very cool stuff. Busted belly. Think that could've been the midevil or however you spell it, version of appendix problems.
Medieval*
I don't think it wasn't his appendix, the maesters would have known the difference between a stomach and an appendix.
