@@rosscardenas6636 his line died with the death of his son Maelor lol Rhaenyra literally is the 7 times great grandmother to Jon Snow love as I said every Targaryen after her son Aegon III is her direct descendant
I actually like Rheanyra a lot. The greens were completely in the wrong here by attempting a bloody coup. Allicent was conniving and ambitious to the point of treachery while Rheanyra seemed like she would have kept cordial with them had they followed the fallen kings wishes. I hope they show the tea on the love interests and baby daddies in house of the dragon!!
I’m on team Rhaenyra completely. In the books in the short time she did rule she wasn’t the best and she did plenty of shit things but I feel like Alicent sabotaged her from the very beginning. All of that could have been avoided if everyone just honored her father’s wishes. Her father was very clear that she was to succeed before any sons he had. Rhaenyra was his firstborn. In every way she was the rightful Queen and they stole her crown. She had every right to fight for her throne. I’m interested in how the show portrays her character and her relationship with the Velaryons and Daemon. Are they going to make her sympathetic or more of a villain so we do t mind how her story ends in the book. Although I was still routing for her in the books.
But truth wins one way or the other. It's her kin that sits the throne anyways which i think can be considered a victory whereas Alicent's entire bloodline is wiped out and she has the audacity to blames Rhaenyera for it. Such a hateful character. She dies mad after every relative dies. Which i felt satisfied with.
Definitely team Rhaenyra! The council of 101 is one of the things I didn’t like about Jaehaerys. Fire and blood taught us that the first Targaryen rulers of Westeros were women. Rhaenys and Visenya ruled the realm while Aegon was touring the land. Thanks for another great video Gray! Would love to see the one of the murder mystery’s, there are so many. ❤️
@@bensonfang1868 Not necessarily. Ancient and important houses are treated almost like brands. There are a couple instances in the books where a man from a lesser house adopts the name of the greater house upon marriage. Or their children take the name of their mother's house. I'm sure Rhaenyra's children would take the name Targaryen.
Very nice. What gets me is all they had to do was declare a law that stated if the firstborn was female, then the man she married must take her surname. At the end of the day, it was never about gender. It was about keeping a single family name as ruler of the realm.
I hate how her children are always portrayed with Valyrian looks. They weren't rumoured to be bastards for nothing; they had brown hair and brown eyes 👁️👁️
I actually saw the bits of the trailer, I think they're going to look like what they look like in the book. Dark brown hair-dark eyes young men. At first, I totally believed the Green narratives that indeed all 3 are Strong 'bastards.' But after thinking about it, I wonder if perhaps not all 3 are "bastards?" Or perhaps all 3 are NOT bastards? Laenor's mother had dark hair when she was young (although now her hair has turned all silver white) and his grandmother had dark eyes and dark hair. What if those particular genes skipped Laenor and showed up in the rumored Strong boys? Also not all Velaryon-Targaryen would have silver-white hair with pairs of purple eyes. This could be seen in Rhaenyra's grandmother, who had honey colored hair and pair of blue eyes unlike the rest of the Targaryen-Velaryon. No one wondered if Alysanne was a 'bastard' or something like that... Before you claimed that, oh Laenor preferred men. Sure, he did, but it didn't mean, he couldn't engage in sex for procreation purpose. He knew how important it was to have heir to his house and for their line so I'd think he would 'push through' and wouldn't let 'impostors' or 'bastards' to carry his name.... I guess we all have to wait until the show to see whether or not the rumor that the 3 boys are indeed 'Strong boys' or whatnot.
That's because the Arryns have those traits, from her mother's side. Look at Robert Arryn. Viserys wife is half Arryn. But all 3 boys, Rhaenyras sons were very honourable unlike Alicent's kids.
I love love love Rhaenyra! I named my fanfiction/AU character after her. I know she isn't going to win The Dance, but I'm going to ride and die with her anyways.
I'm always Team Black, but I definitely see Rhaenyra as being a little unhinged like Cersei. There are also parallels between her unfulfilled love with Christian Cole and Cersei's crush on Rhaegar. I respectfully disagree. She was forced to spend time with the King by her father. Then the king announces he's going to marry her. She doesn't get any say in it. She wanted Rheanyra to marry Aegon and prevent any fighting. When that was refused she had to do what she had to to make sure her sons didn't get killed because of their heritage. Also, the "boys come before girls" is the entire reason Rheanyra's dad became king in the first place! Personally I like Rheanyra. Her uncle love notwithstanding. But technically speaking, Aegon was the rightful ruler being a true born son of the King. Js 🤷🏻♀️

I sympathize more with Rhaenyra than Queen Alicent. I was glad that Viserys was very adamant she to succeed him despite her being a woman (although I wonder if it's because Viserys was a dreamer-- he might dream that it was through Rhaenyra's line that Targaryen would persist and NOT through Alicent's so that's why he wouldn't allow Alicent to matchmake Aegon II with Rhaenyra--just a theory I was considering). And obviously, it's her line that's still living right now (in the book Danny still lives--John Snow is possibly Targaryen too, even the fAegon/young Griff), while Alicent's line with her children died with the suicide of Jaehara. But I also understand why the Greens would play dirty, letting Viserys to rot 10 days after passing away on his deathbed to connive and take over the kingdom. Obviously the two factions have been at odds for as long as they've been around. Alicent probably assumed once Rhaenyra became a queen, her son(s) (whom she believed to be the rightful heir to the throne) would be in danger as they often mocked Rhaenyra's oldest as 'bastard' Strongs. Plus she sincerely believed the Strong 'bastards' should not inherit after Rhaenyra, that Aegon II had more right.
