Repairing Dentside Ford Cab Mounts (73-79)

  • Here today I will be repairing the cab mounts for my 78 Ford f100. This is a very common problem for east coast trucks and this is my first time attempting this repair. (I am not a metal fabricator) just know enough to be dangerous. These are called frame savers from Jeffs Bronco Graveyard item number: 23069B

    Why did you not do the mount on the right. It will be completely destroyed before soon. The metal looks real bad. Should have done the right one with a new washer from BGY too.

    If you do some more, try using a hole saw the same size as the outer diameter of the washer. Saves some grinding and cleaning up the torch cut.

    Looks Great. What did you do to get that mount off the rail? It was installed via big rivets. What was the cost of the new one you had on the bench?
