Thank you for talking about vernal ponds! I studied them for my Masters, and they are so neat! There are loads of unique adaptations, behavioirs, and processes going on because the ponds are only filled for part of thr year.

I've had my eastern box turtle for 3 yrs now. Healed up her injury. His name is Peache's. Because he loves peaches. Making him an outdoor long shallow tote to come outside during the day. Get my tips from you guys, he's a happy guy. Has a personality and he let's me know it's dinner time by standing on his feeding rock and waits. He also follows you on the floor when I let him out. Have 4 kitties that don't bother him, he's part of the clowder. Thank you for helping me keep him happy and healthy ❤

Love the background. Now I am rethinking my custom indoor enclosures for my EBTs, especially concerning humidity retention. I use indoor greenhouses for my cherryheads which works well for humidity and keeping energy/heating costs low. Amazing content and info as always.

I’d never heard of Toad Ranch before but looked them up after watching this. A few years ago, my husband and I were looking at a terrarium for our turtle and found a nice looking one on Amazon and ordered it…. And got sent the wrong item. We’ve been using a hand me down from my uncle, but these look great, they’re made in the USA, they’re veteran owned AND they don’t carry the same price tag that most US made items have? I’m sold. Pierre’s been with the family longer than my husband’s been alive, he deserves some pampering ❤

What a beautiful enclosure, and the care you put into choosing and placing the decorations and 'plantings' is admirable. I like the way the yellow leaves in the backdrop echo Otis' coloring. He is such a little star, giving us a wave at the end of the show. Happy new home!

For my box turtle, I would attach another of those enclosures on the front so it was more square with more inside space. Also they like to take a walk, so need an open track around the climbable stuff in the pen. I’d put a section of smooth pebbles in the area of the water dish so hes not dirting his water up all the time. I did this with the outdoor water source. Like a pebbled river bank.
