I also admire the way Lake Vyrnwy dam was built out of stone, true craftsmanship back then. Safe riding.

Im glad you like it. There are some awesome roads around there. In fact, in the episode that is live tonight, I start to cross the mountain pass from Machynlleth, which is another great one.
Last year I stayed at Bwch yn Uchaf B&B ( excellent plus it has camping), Llanuwchlly just outside Bala for a couple of nights.A great spot for riding out from with a lovely single track from their to Bronaber.Cheers

From Ireland and over to wales in July and watched this before I went. Got fed up with speed cameras etc and stuck lake Vyrnwy into the sat nav as staying in Bala for the night. I came in from a different angle Dinas Mawddwy to Eunant Wow what a road. Thanks for the videos great inspiration

Another great vid 👍 Next time your up that neck of the woods, if you turn right (where you joined the lake rd) instead of left you will come to another right turn. Go up there, that's another great pass ( 2nd highest in Wales). Thanks for posting 👍👍

Lake Vyrnwy is in Powys, Wales and is pronounced Vern-wee. Love those roads and and your video. Where you stopped in Bala, the car park and amenities are at the opposite end of the town. That's where most people gather. You were only on the outskirts of Bala. Ride safe

Lake Vyrnwy was created in 1888 by flooding the village of Llanwddyn. When the water is low, many of the old buildings/walls can be clearly seen. It was created to supply fresh water to Liverpool.
Hi Carl, Sorry for the late reply. I do quite often hit North Wales just for the day. I can get there in about 2.5hrs from Coventry and then ride around for a few hours and back in the evening. UK has so many great places within easy riding distances. Safe travels mate. Adventure 4 Life

Loved this series of your ride to North Wales. I am fortunate to live there and enjoy the roads you have filmed. There is so much to offer off the main roads, you have just scratched the surface. A puncture repair kit is definitely worth the investment, as many of the roads do not have mobile phone coverage. Stay safe 👍
