Thing is I have a nasty history of anemia that at times borders on life threatening that's started at age 6 (I'm soon to be 38 and f) so I kinda supplemented because at the time I was doing a month stint of carnivore with a lot of red meat, beef heart, beef kidney in my diet which all that is high in folate as are eggs and several other things I was eating. Oh and on lunch ables I do not buy that for my son at all. His face meal I make is egg and veggie tacos or taco bowl. I use rendered animal fat or ghee, eggs, taco seasoning (mostly very clean) , onion, sweet peppers, and a low carb tortilla. I sometimes have added beef heart, liver, tripas (tripe), or simply muscle meat. I often give him sliced up apple and a really clean PB. He also likes burgers ketchup only (I use minimal if store bought but I also make my own clean and fermented one) or hot dogs ketchup only. I minimize the normal buns and go with low carb ones. With me I may make chauffel batter into bread or a biscuit for my buns and often add cheese, alvacado, fermented veggies or watermelon rind dill pickles. Most of that may not be the best but on snap with a teen it's definitely better than luchables or mc Donald's happy meal. I make my own chicken nuggets using Parmesan, egg, cheese, spices and salt, and ground chicken. At Christmas I make my own trail mix with dried fruit and nuts as one of the sticking stuffer options. I'm more along the lines of low fodmap and low carb in my diet but still very much animal based. Grass fed grass finished meats are out of my price range especially right now with my snap cut because of issues getting renewal in causing me to have to re apply then wait 2 months behind backlog issues. Most of my groceries aside from my stockpile (including home fermented or home canned/dehydrated foods) is coming from local food pantries so not a lot of pasture raised eggs, raw milk for my yogurt, or any of the really expensive but good stuff. What I've got rn is what I've got. And a teen boy is a bottomless pit especially my kid who is very slender with a ramped up metabolism. Gotta feed him a lot of nutrients dense food to fuel his body burning through everything growing like a weed. Kid is already half a inch taller than my 5'2 ass. He's not quite 14 yet.
I just feel so overwhelmed trying to find food for my 2 kids that doesn’t have garbage in it, even I’m guilty of having a redbull or a cliff bar for breakfast when I’m running late. My kids grew up eating whatever their heart desires because when I was a kid I was told this is what is for breakfast, lunch, dinner, if you don’t eat this then your not eating anything at all (different time period 30 years ago obviously) so I wanted to let my kids not grow up how I did…….then I found out about how terrible seed oils are for you and the animal based diet, but at that point my oldest daughter was 7 and my youngest daughter was 2 so I have such a hard time getting them snacks or food that they will be like “yeah I def want that and have no issue eating it” or even finding stuff that still might not be the best for them but it’s better than what they eat now.

Wondering your opinion on this. Thanks!
Hey Paul. Serious question. What do you make of all those peer reviewed studies that were retracted. I know you read badcat. Are any of the studies to reference apart of those?
I just started eating animal-based since I want to improve my health. I looked up your macro calculator and where it says goal body weight do I input my current weight or the weight I’d want to be at?
Aldi has the cheapest and Walmart are $6 something; Target is usually just a bit more than walmart; I know some places are just higher cost of living areas so many so in those places they are that expensive.
I have a Question about Folic Acid is it really that bad in like every supplement cause i take one with it but the Company from where i take it is really good quality and the have been around for a long time 🤔
Paul question! If I'm in college and trying to shop on a budget would you still recommend the non-organic fruits & meats as a good option? Or should I really try to only get organic?
Paul do you have any advice for extended travel with this way of eating? For instance trying to do this in Japan for say four weeks where it's very carb focused and low meat?
Hey paul, quick question. For those who are on a budget, what's the difference between pasture raised organic eggs versus pasture raised non-organic? Thnks!
@@Stacy-w5f You're misunderstanding my question. I'm asking about the nutrition quality of the eggs based on the diet, and FYI cage free is not synonymous for pasture raised. Huge difference, check your facts before spreading misinformation.
You talk about eating raw liver and raw heart. Number one question is what liver and what heart like from which animal. Number 2 is am I allowed to eat them cooked and slowly go over to eating them raw once I get used to eating it cooked?
What's the primary source of fuel for the body on meat and fruit diet. Assuming the body uses carbs, then what happens to the fat from the meat? How exactly does it work?
I haven't looked yet but do you have any videos on your favorite way to cook liver?
Thank you for covering Target! It looks like Walmart has slightly better options...
I just feel so overwhelmed trying to find food for my 2 kids that doesn’t have garbage in it, even I’m guilty of having a redbull or a cliff bar for breakfast when I’m running late. My kids grew up eating whatever their heart desires because when I was a kid I was told this is what is for breakfast, lunch, dinner, if you don’t eat this then your not eating anything at all (different time period 30 years ago obviously) so I wanted to let my kids not grow up how I did…….then I found out about how terrible seed oils are for you and the animal based diet, but at that point my oldest daughter was 7 and my youngest daughter was 2 so I have such a hard time getting them snacks or food that they will be like “yeah I def want that and have no issue eating it” or even finding stuff that still might not be the best for them but it’s better than what they eat now.
if target has a deli, the better cheeses are usually in a display case near that area of the store.
FYI palm kernel oil is quite low in linoleum acid
Thank you for what you do Paul. My Target in Queens, NY doesn’t have anything organic 😆.
I can’t wait to move back to Costa Rica again… my wife’s going next week to CR, to visit her family. They’re from Nicoya Peninsula. They’ve probably seen you in the Super shitting on processed foods 😂
Is juice good for you to be drinking, and if so which juice is the most nutrient dense and best?
Whatever is fresh, made at home. Oj, watermelon, whatever you like and consume right after juicing.
@@madeleinegrayson8372 Why should i not just buy it at the store?
Hey Paul, what about vitamins/supplements that contain methylated B vitamins (such as methyl folate, etc) I’ve always avoided fortified foods and synthetic B vitamins because I have two bad copies of the MTHFR gene. a physician told me to take food-grade medical supplements like Metanx or high quality supplements that only use methylated B vitamins. Wondering your opinion on this. Thanks!
Great video, great message, subbed.
I just found him and subscribed myself.
I would eat a bowl frosted flakes before shopping at target.
Lol!😄
oh no what will target ever do
Thoughts on cottage cheese and greek yogurt? I've been including them in my animal-based diet.
i like the options that target has
I like how he’s talking and not shouting 🎉
i can tolerate potatoes, but other vegetables gives me joint pain, i tries soaking stew vegetables in 12% vinegar and it sort of worked.
Hey Paul. Serious question. What do you make of all those peer reviewed studies that were retracted. I know you read badcat. Are any of the studies to reference apart of those?
Paul can you do a grocery haul at Natural Grocers?
Carrageenan: pronounced with a hard g, like game.
Target is using APEEL on their produce!!! Even the organic stuff!!!
The price on the Lineage products are wild😅
What about canned Sardines in hot sauce? I eat them to get leaner, but if healthy too then bonus.
usually, sauces are made with seed oils and sugar (check the label)... I buy sardines in olive oil
I just started eating animal-based since I want to improve my health. I looked up your macro calculator and where it says goal body weight do I input my current weight or the weight I’d want to be at?
Target has raw dairy. le gruyere from Switzerland and Parmigiano Reggiano from Italy.
Crazy that the pasture raised organic eggs are $9 a dozen...
He didn’t say the price
So I knew they were almost $10 a dozen 😭
Aldi has the cheapest and Walmart are $6 something; Target is usually just a bit more than walmart; I know some places are just higher cost of living areas so many so in those places they are that expensive.
Other than a pledge by Natural Grocers, NOT to use Apeel coating. Even organic fruit has this coating in most stores.
Once upon a time every thing was organic and it didn't need to be labelled organic.
That's changed in 2005 with the Codex. And it's not a good thing.
Paul what about Santra Cruz dark roasted peanut butter? Somewhat less inflammatory, maybe? 🙏
My favorite.
I like adding it with red 40 too
I don’t think peanuts are great in any way… personally, I prefer avoiding nuts in general. You can experiment with them and see how you feel.
Why are you asking him? Just eat it, and if you feel sick afterwards (highly unlikely), you don’t have to try it again.
Can you address the "heart fluttering" on carnivore issue that you had mentioned in a previous video?
Thank you
Heart palpitations, probably caused by lack of electrolytes.
@@redpillthinking6043 thank you, much appreciated.
Lemon water then, i assume.
I have a Question about Folic Acid is it really that bad in like every supplement cause i take one with it but the Company from where i take it is really good quality and the have been around for a long time 🤔
What butter do you recommend?
Paul question! If I'm in college and trying to shop on a budget would you still recommend the non-organic fruits & meats as a good option? Or should I really try to only get organic?
Raw beef and grass fed honey
Paul do you have any advice for extended travel with this way of eating? For instance trying to do this in Japan for say four weeks where it's very carb focused and low meat?
I love ham ..ha ha my one weakness..life is short but I’m good with everything else..😊
Please get lineage stick in all Publix, Target, Walmart
The closest to Raw milk I have found is non-homogenized milk from an Amish company. Does this have any allergy-protection?
Aldi next, please?
Hey paul, quick question. For those who are on a budget, what's the difference between pasture raised organic eggs versus pasture raised non-organic? Thnks!
@@Stacy-w5f You're misunderstanding my question. I'm asking about the nutrition quality of the eggs based on the diet, and FYI cage free is not synonymous for pasture raised. Huge difference, check your facts before spreading misinformation.
I like grapes and watermelon 👍
You talk about eating raw liver and raw heart. Number one question is what liver and what heart like from which animal. Number 2 is am I allowed to eat them cooked and slowly go over to eating them raw once I get used to eating it cooked?
Beef liver and heart. He adds them to his ground beef and cooks that.
Mostly eating meat/fish + eggs + cheese + onions, feeling way better.
What's the primary source of fuel for the body on meat and fruit diet. Assuming the body uses carbs, then what happens to the fat from the meat? How exactly does it work?
@paul saladino, what about chicken? Thoughts on this meat?
Do a Dollar Tree haul 😂
You gotta get back with Bobby P.! Still love your videos! I'd love to say hello and BS sometime...
Target has been boycotted… haven’t given them a dime in years.
I haven't looked yet but do you have any videos on your favorite way to cook liver? I just got introduced to you a couple days ago via Bobby Parrish and I saw that you advocate eating liver and I like liver so I bought some but now I need to figure out how to cook it. I won't say I've never cooked it but it's been many years.
I know I grew up with my mum cooking it French style. Soaked in milk, then dredge in seasoned flour or and sautéed in butter and cooking sherry. Even as a kid, I loved liver night, lol.
Nice to see a Target one. How about Dollar Tree, Dr. Paul?
Paul what do you think about wild turkey?
