- Penicillins and Penicillinase Resistant Antibiotics: pharmacology for nurses
Nursing students, nurses, and other health care professionals ...
Ampicillin, amoxicillin, and other penicillin drugs - just how do they work, what are the side effects.
Instead of spending hours memorizing content, pharmacology can be made easy, even with the wide range of antibiotics that we need to learn. Pharmacology class does not have to be boring!
In this video, I give you an easy way to find clues in the word penicillin that will break down which ones are penicillinase resistant antibiotics and extended spectrum antibiotics.
This video also contains an nclex review

Hi! Thank you so much for your content I think you're great! :D
Question regarding Amoxicillin and ampicillin:
My textbooks and lecture notes show that those two medications belong to the "aminopenacillins" group. Is that a group that falls within the extended spectrum group? 🤔
Thank you!
Go with what your textbook says - as your exams will be based on that
Aminopenicillins are bactericidal beta-lactam antibiotics, which work by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. They are chemically similar to penicillin but have a broader spectrum of activity than penicillin - red drug.com
www.drugs.com/drug-class/aminopenicillins.html
Is the penicillin Augmentin included with these?
Augmentin is a aminopenicillins beta lactamase inhibitor
What is better penisillinase sensitive or resistant medication? Plz answer me!
Better for what? I am unclear what you are asking
@@NurseMinder the narrow spectrum penicillinase sensitive
And narrow spectrum penicillinase resistant
Which is better for treatment
