I got a '25 M3 base in October. Waited 10 months after I put down the deposit to get it. Individual Paint Peridot Green with Tartufo interior. Biggest reason for wanting it - the 6 speed. And I bought it and I plan to keep it. Because I'm hearing that when BMW redesigns the M3 the stick and possibly the inline 6 are going away. So to me, if you want a sports car with a stick, it's now or never.
Excellent review, as always Brian. I drove a 2024 M3 manual recently and you're right, its a fantastic driver's car. Just wish the classic gauges make a comeback, even if they are digital like in the Supra or the Z4 - the tablet style screens just dont look good to me.
I have driven the M3 Comp on the track (BMW M Track Days at COTA in Austin, TX). The car is an absolute beast on the track, and X-Drive does amazing things to manage things in the turns. But for those of us who love the more connected feeling of a manual transmission, the 6MT is definitely the choice to make.
Great review, I have subscribed. I was down to this and the Alfa Romeo QV. Both great cars to drive. The manual M3 was awesome but I liked the interior of the Alfa better. Not a fan of the big techy LCD screens. I have a feeling both will be future classics - the last manual M3 and the last petrol QV. Australian fan 😊
The arguments of the automatics; a little quicker, a little more horespower, a little more convenient... and a LOT more boring! Yes!...SAVE THE MANUALS! As stated: "a different level of engagement. " Really nice car - excellent review. Keep'er between the lines! 🚘
If this car's shifter was really more precise, BMW would be shouting it from the rooftops, but they stayed conspicuously silent, which tells me it is the exact same transmission, and it may feel better, because of small variations between such transmissions based on for example weather, or even if it was left in 1st gear overnight.
@@BrianMakse yes, I have a manual Supra and was considering trading it in and getting a manual m3. It is my weekend car that I track every once in a while. Thank you.
Great review 👍 I am not a BMW buyer but I would definitely buy this M3. The price is actually a bargain. Acura and Infiniti needs to wake up. I can see why Honda and Nissan are merging together now….two low quality brands that have disastrous Turbo engines and transmissions….with few exceptions from Nissan like the GTR, Z, Frontier and maybe the Sentra. This BMW will kill any pricing and performance from Acura and Infiniti.
More one-liners than you would find on a mirror on a counter in the bathroom back in the 80’s!😅 Surprised you did not mention the competitors, which would be the Blackwing cars. How does this compare to you vs those cars, especially the CT4? I have one and love it, but could use a little more back seat room and more theater.
I'm looking at an m2 but was told manuals aren't the best of ideas anymore because mechanics don't know how to work on manuals like before. Heard that from a bmw manager.
@ bought a new Challenger R/T with a Tremec, the stiffer suspension with Bilsteins, 4 piston Brembos, and all the drag stuff (line lock). Brilliant car and it’s my daily! Hemi sounds so good.
It’s too bad this car is so blindingly ugly inside and out, because it seems that BMW has really dialed it in over the model run. It’s faster, handles better, and sounds way better than my 2018 M3 6MT. Oh well.
I can't get over the looks either. I keep telling myself itll grow on me but it hasn't. It looks absurd especially in bright colours. It's fairly evident that BMW will not be doing more with this design language.

Great review. Good to hear that BMW has improved their shifter feel.
It's about time!

That's why I'm getting 2020 m2 until bmw figures it out.
Agree, tablet is ugly.
Cool character . I definitely subscribed. The views seem low, but don't stop chief. Like Eminem said, "Till I collapse"
15:25 made me laugh because I made an excuse today too 🤣 lmao
lol I'm here to serve, but don't skip the gym!
My next car, but l’ll take mine in grey. Currently own a M340i. The G80 M’s will be collectors, especially the manual versions.

I’ve driven several things at COTA, but not an M3 manual 😎
Awesome review Brian!😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love your channel and your approach. I laughed at your statement about being too close to the wheel- 😂
Haha, glad you caught that!

🤣🤣🤣
Sounds much better than I thought, tho’ it’s probably synthetic. You didn’t mention whether you can heel and toe did you?
Actually, I taught a subscriber how to heel and toe in this car. Episode coming soon!
What would you recommend, the m3 manual or the Supra manual? Looking forward to your response.
Two very different things, depends on how you're going to use the car.

BTW is it just me, or is the hood on your test car egregiously misaligned with the front clip?
Probably just the visuals, I didn't notice anything.
Great review 👍

Ha ha! We don't delve into a competitive analyses here. I haven't driven the CT4V BW since the launch, but I recall really enjoying it.
Great car but it's an M2 in 6 speed manual for me.
I'm looking at an m2 but was told manuals aren't the best of ideas anymore because mechanics don't know how to work on manuals like before. Heard that from a bmw manager.
My biggest grip about M is that you can't get competition models in a manual.
just add a tune, the comp's only difference is the turbo pressure.
BMW did this because of the gearbox.
it´s a very good RWD, Manual transm., Sports Car and it costs only a little bit of money. Thanks 😀
I am considering between a M3, M2 and Integra Type S for my next manual daily. Which one would you get?
All lovely cars. Depends on how you're going to use the car, I suppose.
@ Which one has the best shifter?
@@howardtang1833 from memory, the Supra
If you don’t put people in the rear seat, the M2 is the car to choose - with the 6MT!
@@RbNetEngr Save the manuals!
I am looking for a fun daily driver. Im thinking Cayman S or M3, Price is about the same. Space not an issue. Thoughts?
The manual on this car is strange. The clutch delay with the lag makes for some awkward shifts. Sill good, but BMW alway seems to have some weird lag.
The early ones were like that, this one isn't.
So if you can only get a manual with RWD model, why not just get the Cadillac CT4V Blackwing with the Tremec at a better price?
I only buy manuals but the really bad feature of new BMWs is the annoyingly stupid LCDs instead of simple, round gauges.
I recently took a look at new cars options and much to my surprise the new BMW's, inside and out, looked cheap.
Who keeps butchering these poor BMWs with the ugly stick?!?! 😣
Challenger, another car you could get with a manual, gone too.
Yep. It’s a shame.
@ bought a new Challenger R/T with a Tremec, the stiffer suspension with Bilsteins, 4 piston Brembos, and all the drag stuff (line lock). Brilliant car and it’s my daily! Hemi sounds so good.
Drool worthy
Absolutely stupid that the only M3/M4 you can get with a manual is the base model. No manual for the Competition, CS or CSL.
Manual is not going anywhere in a Porsche, not in a GT3 at least.
I will start saving the 250k now ……?
You think?
It’s too bad this car is so blindingly ugly inside and out, because it seems that BMW has really dialed it in over the model run. It’s faster, handles better, and sounds way better than my 2018 M3 6MT. Oh well.
It definitely is not pleasant to look at.
I think it’s fine everywhere but that front end.
I can't get over the looks either. I keep telling myself itll grow on me but it hasn't. It looks absurd especially in bright colours. It's fairly evident that BMW will not be doing more with this design language.
I’d take the f-series over this ugly duckling any day. Can you do an S58 swap? 😂
Used to hate the new look but it’s definitely growing on me. Saw one today at our hotel valet in Tanzanite blue which was 🔥
Beautiful review but how did the M3 become an ugly car
Porsche 911 s/t
The best manual car !
Can't wait until manual transmissions go away and it's nice BMW dropped the manual from the M5. VW dropping the manual finally
Back under your bridge, troll.
What are you on about mate?
@BMWWolf you can't read?
You need a Prius.
@Come-What-May wow at least you didn't say the common response of you need to buy a Tesla.
06:30 haha ;D
Brian, that poor BMW on the salty Ontario roads! 🫣 It does improve the looks though.
It's not like it's going to melt!
